<p>Luke handed Charlette to Kitty and watched as she left with her in her arms. "I was surprised that Mother came down and picked up Charlette. I wonder if now that the baby has been born that Kitty will be able to tell when Charlette is awake? I guess none of us will have the answer to that." He feels a slight loss of warmth in his arms and gets up to help set to the kitchen table. </p>
