Empire Background

The Empire of Derzhab once was a petty kingdom, small in size compared to those that surrounded it, although its rich value in minerals such as gold and diamond made it a very wealthy trade nation. During small revolts and the Trade Empire falling to a monarchist regime, the traders fled leaving their wealth and belongings behind due to fear of execution. The family that took charge wanted to continue the traditions that were held by the Trade Empire before them such as the festivals held during the summer nights. They even introduced new traditions such as a public feast in their capital during the winter solstice.

The family that took charge of the nation was called the Melber-Bresd, they took charge during a revolt between the trade leaders and continued as rulers up to the present day.

The surrounding nations would trade with Derzhab back and forth, until one son decided to cut trade with them due to an ongoing plague to the south and a famine to its north. He decided that this was the chance for the empire to become exactly what it said it was. First offering the nation to its north food and supplies to survive if it agreed to become a part of the empire. The terms were agreed upon within days, allowing Derzhab to expand its borders and open itself to more resources. The southern kingdom collapsed on itself and the people had no ruler, so the Emperor offered them sanctuary in their own land under his protection. So they joined with the empire, its borders began to grow, the two new joining kingdoms becoming provinces of the empire. The Northern Province dedicated to agriculture and military. The Southern Province dedicated to industry, the manufacturing of weapons, and the mining of strategic resources such as iron and coal.

During the years the empire expanded to new lengths establishing the Eastern Province which has vast forests and was devoted to the woodsmen. The Western Province established through the blood of war gave the empire access to the ocean, allowing it to expand its military power creating a way to transport people easily with canals aswell.

Its current ruler Edmund Melber-Bresd is a ruthless leader that has plans for the future of the empire to expand its borders north to the ocean again.
