Chapter 246: Qiu'er(2)

After a few minutes of panicking, Huo Yuhao remembered that he stored the belt in his second spiritual sea in hopes that if he reincarnates into another life he hoped that he could still retain his memories and with his precious stuff.

Huo Yuhao wore simple casual clothing consisting of a black t-shirt, grey pants and blue combat sandals.

The Auspicious Emperor tilted her head, curious. "So that's human clothing... Interesting..."

Huo Yuhao raised an eyebrow. "You haven't seen human clothing? Wasn't Di Tian wearing clothes?"

"Beast God? Oh no. He wasn't wearing human clothes, he merely created his clothing out of his pure soul power."

Huo Yuhao's eyes widened. "Made out of his soul power? Amazing...." Soul power is pure energy and isn't tangible, making it extremely hard to not just wove it into clothes but also to keep its form act like real clothes — that requires a high amount of soul power and an extreme control over it.

'I'll ask the guy later for that technique, it'll help save me money on clothes.'

He shook his head. By his estimations, he would be able to do it when he reaches seven rings at least.

"We've been talking for a while now, but... I haven't gotten to know your name yet."

"My name..." A strange light flickered across the eyes of the Auspicious Emperor and she went silent for a few moments.

"I don't have one."

Huo Yuhao raised his eyebrows, in shock. "You... didn't have a name until now? Why?"

"Soul beasts with names are typically only those hundred thousand year old soul beasts, since their intelligence is equal to humans and are then blessed by the remnant will of the Dragon God to gain a general knowledge about stuff — thus making up their names." The Auspicious Emperor explained rather confidently, after all, it's not everyday she can teach a human about soul beasts.

"Dragon God's Remnant Will?" Huo Yuhao's eyes widened, this was the first he's ever heard about this.

The Auspicious Emperor snorted. "First time hearing about it? It wouldn't be a surprise, considering that no hundred thousand year old soul beast would talk amicably with a human nor would a human stop to care as they would always want to hunt us down first instead."

"That's not always the case, no? Hundred thousand year old soul beasts could only be rivaled by at least a Titled Douluo, so why can't they talk with someone of a weaker cultivation?" Huo Yuhao countered with a sharp glint in his eyes.

The Auspicious Emperor wasn't willing to back down neither as she replied, "Could they even handle the aura of a hundred thousand year old soul beast?"

Huo Yuhao wanted to argue again, but he shook his head and said. "We're getting off track here. What's the Dragon God's Remnant Will?"

He was greatly interested in such a topic because it always baffled almost everyone how hundred thousand year old soul beasts seemingly could talk human language and have general knowledge on some stuff.

Knowledge is learned and passed down, not something one is simply born with.

'If it were something or someone that had transmitted such knowledge then it would make sense.'

"Hmm. For some context, I should start from the beginning." The Auspicious Emperor began and then sat on the ground on her four legs, the layer of ice covering the ground quickly melted from the blazing heat exuding from her golden body.

"In the beginning, there was nothing but a dark void. There was no life, no concepts, absolutely nothing. But then, there was a big bang — which came the creation of monsters and Gods."

"Monsters?" Huo Yuhao was surprised.

The Auspicious Emperor nodded with a serious expression. "Back then, the Ancestors of soul beasts were not known as beasts but Monsters. The concept of beasts came when Humans came to being. In the First Era, or Primordial Era the Beast God would say, there were great many beings but there were only a handful of the most powerful beings."

"The first was the God of Creation, the first true God and the true creator to all life and planets in the universe. He was the one who created humans. The second was the God of Heavenly Calamity, not much is known about him but I heard that he's basically the Personification of Destruction and Slaughter; he would annihilate every creation in existence."

"Now came the Dragon God, the strongest monster or Divine Beast in existence. Even several Human Gods at the same God level as the him couldn't defeat him. Almost all soul beasts revere to him as our creator, our true father, our true God!"

"Wait, what? But the soul beasts from the Extreme North? And you and other soul beasts I've met don't look anything like a dragon." Huo Yuhao said with a raised eyebrow.

"Of course, there were other Divine Beasts that came later and migrated into the Dragon God's Divine Realm. But the reason we regard the Dragon God highly is because he's the strongest! I'm sure you understand the law of the jungle. And although the soul beasts from the Extreme North are descendants of the Ice God, even they would acknowledge the Dragon God's supremacy." The Auspicious Emperor said confidently. "Strength is everything in our world, and there was no one stronger than the Dragon God."

"But what about the God of Creation and God of Heavenly Calamity?"

"Oh, one is dead while the other is...sealed? Not really sure. Beast God said that the two Gods weren't seen for millions of years before the creation of the Dragon Clan, so by technicality, the Dragon God now reigns as the strongest God and Divine Beast." The Auspicious Emperor said.

She then continued. "Now, since you know a fraction of the Dragon God's prowess, I'll explain what his Remnant Will means for hundred thousand year old soul beasts. When the Dragon God ascended to become the leader of all soul beasts, he placed several...systems across his Divine Realm and the mortal realm to help his people become stronger."

"These systems contain a piece of his will, so that no one else but him could ever manage it — not even the Plane Lord could touch it. One such system he put down was the transmission of general knowledge of human language and other... weird information."

"Weird how.... exactly?" Huo Yuhao asked.

"....I know over 200 ways to kill a man." The Auspicious Emperor said with a straight face.

Huo Yuhao blinked, he didn't know what to say to that.

"And something called "rizz"? It's all weird and random." She tilted her head.

"But anyways, there. That's how hundred thousand year old soul beasts know human language and other information, which leads them to create their own names."

Huo Yuhao was confused. "But then, what about you? Why haven't you gotten a name yet? Wait...are you saying that you aren't a hundred thousand years old yet? But then why do you have knowledge about stuff?" He said with some doubt and confusion.

Because it's widely known that only those who have reached a hundred thousand years old could speak the human language. Although, there are special circumstances like variants in soul beasts that could talk with humans without reaching a high level.

"Hm. Yes, but no. I'm actually around 15,000 years old but it's somehow equivalent to a hundred thousand years old; it's because of my status as the Emperor Beast, which is why I know some human knowledge."

Huo Yuhao slapped his forehead, exclaiming. "Equivalent to—! None of what you're saying makes sense! I just want to know why don't you have a name yet."

The Auspicious Emperor...seems to be pouting? She glanced at the side, her tail lowly wagging. "Well, sorry for wanting to have a conversation. I don't really.... get to talk with someone for so long, who isn't my elder."

Huo Yuhao's eyes went wide.

The Auspicious Emperor holds a special status among the soul beasts and is highly protected by everyone. No soul beasts would come close to her due to her high status and also because of the Scarlet King, who acts as her bodyguard and protective uncle — making her live a lonely, long life.

While she could converse with the Great Beasts and other hundred thousand year old soul beasts, their mentalities differ. The former were at the level of adults while the Auspicious Emperor had the mentality of a teenager: their perspectives, experiences, and responsibilities were vastly different.

The Great Beasts saw the world through the eyes of rulers, protectors, and warriors, while the Auspicious Emperor... she was still growing, still learning.

"....As for why I haven't picked a name for myself, I just didn't care to have one yet. Why should I? When everyone that could talk would always refer to me as either child or little brat." The Auspicious Emperor muttered, grumbling.

Huo Yuhao looked at her saddened expression and subconsciously, he placed his hand over her head. The Auspicious Emperor's eyes widened and she turned to him with wide eyes.

Huo Yuhao smiled at her, rubbing her head. "Okay. I want to give you a name, is that cool with you?"

The Auspicious Emperor was taken aback for a moment, hesitation flashes her eyes, before slowly nodding. "I'd like to have one."

Huo Yuhao hummed. "Tell me, what do you like? What's your favorite color, place, or anything that feels important to you?"

The Auspicious Emperor blinked, clearly not expecting the question. She tilted her head, her three golden eyes gleaming in thought.

"I...I quite like watching the passing of seasons? I don't know. No one has ever asked me that before."

Huo Yuhao faintly smiled and pulled back his hand from her head. A deep chill emitted from his index finger as he started creating thick ice crystals on the ground, writing [秋].

"Qiu — It means autumn, fall, spring, year, time and more that represent the passage of time and change," Huo Yuhao explained, glancing at the frozen character on the ground.

"You said you like watching the seasons pass, right? Autumn is a time of transition, of growth and preparation for what's to come. It's not the beginning or the end, but a moment in between—full of potential."

He paused, contemplating. "Hmm. I feel like it's missing something....How about Qiu'er[王秋儿]? It sounds cuter, doesn't it?"

The Auspicious Emperor stared at the icy inscription, her golden eyes flickering with emotion. She slowly repeated, "Qiu'er..."

Huo Yuhao nodded, slightly scratching his face."I think it suits you."

She smiled. "I like it. Qiu'er. Hmm! Hehe!"

Qiu'er stood up on all four and excitedly jumped at Huo Yuhao, catching him off guard as he stumbled back slightly. Her golden fur shimmered as she playfully nuzzled against him, her tail wagging with excitement.

"Hehe! I have a name now!" Qiu'er beamed, her three golden eyes gleaming with joy. "No more being called 'child' or 'little brat'!"

Huo Yuhao chuckled, steadying himself. "Glad you like it."

"Hehe."

Qiu'er's eyes snapped open and she stood up. "Wait! On no, I almost forgot!"

"What?"

"Remember I had two things to tell you?"

"Yeah?"

"The second thing I wanted to tell you was—" Qiu'er was interrupted by a sudden earthquake that shook the entire cave violently. Loose rocks tumbled from the ceiling, and cracks spread across the ground.

Huo Yuhao immediately tensed.

"Uh oh. Looks like they're here!" Qiu'er exclaimed in alarm.

"Who's here?" Huo Yuhao asked.

"....Your friends?" Qiu'er sheepishly said.

Huo Yuhao stared.

"What?!"
