Twisted History

The birds are chirping, the winds are breezing and the students are groaning in frustration.

It's been five days when I started teaching in class 3-2B.

The news about me… unorthodox teaching technique earned me then nickname "Irregular" from both the student body and the teachers.

By unorthodox I mean, teaching without distinguishing one student from another.

With Grea by my side, doing some paperwork-- those papers are more dangerous than a demonic scroll I tell you. While I give the students the same challenge, barrier-breaking for the price of a herbal tea… I swear I didn't put any funny mushroom in there, and yet they are fighting for it like a fucking addict.

They didn't even drink the damn thing… how are they addicted already?!

Of course, I exploit their addiction, I made the barrier stronger since Lilith managed to crack it before.

Now they can't even scratch my barrier! Yet they still throw their effort anyways for five whole days, their addiction is going to be the reason they are strong! I ain't teaching some pussies, if I'm in control, you better bet your ass I'm making them capable of killing heroes when I'm done.

Yes, I am a hero, why do you ask?

"Artos, technique! Have you heard of it? Or is that a self's sword breaking technique I haven't heard of?" I commented while bonking his head with a book.

"Leo, Gladio… I swear to everything holy and demonic… you are enchanters! So ENCHANT things! Stop blasting it with fireballs! Why the hell did you think fireball is effective against barriers anyway?"

Then I looked at Rikku and Lupine, who were summoning wolf spirits to attack.

"Rikku, Lumine… wolf spirits? Really? This is a hostile barrier, not hostile personnel, you couldn't rip the throat of a barrier, try something else… like… a gorilla? Don't give me shit about not talented or strong enough… we're here to learn… so learn."

Looks like Rikku and Lupine are still having trouble with the summons, I will train them again when the lesson is over (If they ask first).

And all my babble came out when they attacked Barrier but it did not have a significant impact.

It was seen that Violet who had the ability as a Priest to healing those who suffered injuries due to wrong movements or spells when attacking.

I've got to give it to her… Violet is the MVP in this little lesson of mine, her healing spells need works but she's got the right mentality.

Then Ruri appears from above and tries to split the Barrier vertically.

"Ruri, as an assassin you will fight against barriers enemy… stealth attack is going to mean jack's shit if you just randomly stab them… use your time in the shadow to observe the enemy… maybe you can find the target's weak point? Maybe you don't and you're not going home… An assassin needs a good head on their shoulder if they're going to last long…"

I did not miss an attack and tell of weaknesses and how to fix it, but, after all the students tried to attack, Lilith always attacked last when all her classmates were exhausted.

Then came Lilith… the drinker of the class's first herbal tea… her eyes gleam dangerously at the sight of the herbal tea, her body tense, and her head working overtime to get another fix. The conclusion they arrived at? Strike last… the early bird may get the worm… but the last rat gets the cheese.

Of course, she didn't say anything, the cunning rat is waiting for an opportunity while subtly manipulating Leo and Gladio to enchant her wand.

She may fool the kids… but she ain't fooling me… no sire…

Then she moves.

"Clara, containment field…" I commanded.

She obeyed and her talisman glows slightly before a bubble emerges, surrounding Lilith and the barrier.

Lilith aimed her wand at Barrier then sighed to calm her mind.

With a hero worthy determination, she chanted; "Dryad's blessing, Forest's Wrath" causing a green light to emerge from the end of her wand.

Said green light then gathers at the end of her wand, creating a green sphere that slowly falls. Once it reaches the ground roots began to emerge from the floor and wrap itself around the barrier.

And squeezed.

Not enough, I can see Lilith's brain moving rapidly thinking of a possible solution as her face finally shows a realization and she pointed towards the barrier again.

"Firaga"

Streaks of flame shot from her wand as it burned the barrier, using the roots as fuel. Causing black marks to appear around the barrier.

"Okay, that was creative I can give you that… but why fire? Like why everybody does uses it? Fire is not effective in penetrating or destroying barriers. It can cook an armored man alive, yes… but this is a barrier! Even if you're somehow strong enough to overcome said weakness… you're going to ruin the VIP" I pointed towards the herbal tea. "Use another element if you're dealing with barriers, or…" Snapping my finger the barrier dispelled "…Create your own magic"

All students seemed to pay attention to me closely, they did not look away even for a second.

I casually approached the still floating tea and took a sip.

Releasing a satisfied "aah…" I then glanced back at my students.

"I realized now… why you're in this class…" that caused many to glare at me or turn their head in shame.

"You guys are different" I continued, ignoring them. Taking another sip, I glanced at every one of them.

"People don't like different…" I stated calmly… "Look around you… you guys are all different from the norm… and for that…" taking another sip. I smiled widely.

"You're going to change the world… The world doesn't need another nobody, the world doesn't need a slightly above average to be praised… the world needs the different… the…

Outcast…"

They all listened and some noted every explanation I gave, though there's a few who glanced at my tea.

I chuckled, "If you want this then work differently… don't stick with 'normal' and start trying experimental moves."

"One day I will see enchanters shooting an enchanted fireball, or fireball users capable of breaking a barrier for a non-lethal takedown… but until then…" I took a sip "This shit is mine."

Grea, who was taking care of the documents, was sitting back and taking some snacks to eat.

"Artos, you pay attention to my study, right?" I asked Artos, who had been daydreaming and just staring at the herbal tea in my hand.

At first, Artos didn't realize my question until Daniel hit Artos on the head.

Artos who woke up then looked at me with a big question mark about the question I just said.

"Are you listening to my explanation?" I asked once more

Artos shook his head without the slightest hesitation.

"What about us sir?" Artos asked. "It's been five days and you've been teaching about magic, how about us? The weapon-wielding students? You've only told us about the techniques you haven't shown us anything."

I sighed and look that Daniel, Victoria, and Ruri nodded respond to the words of Artos.

"Good point! We're practicing in the field tomorrow!"

Smiles can be seen clearly from those.

The other students did not seem to mind the decision I made and understood what had just happened.

Things returned to normal and I gave a note on the board before I left the class with Grea.

"Now we will go there again, a shitty place that I have not wanted to visit since I became a teacher here," I groaned with anger in my face.

"I guess that's all… now if you'll excuse me… I'm going to hell… again…" I said slowly with a heavy sigh.

Some students chuckled while Grea smiled kindly.

"Let me tell you, kids… Don't be a teacher… especially in some 'prestigious' academy… you're going to regret ever being born due to the boredom…"

"Yes sir!" the students smiled widely "Kick their asses!" Someone screamed from behind.

"Wish I could, kids… wish I could…" then I walk outside.

Grea seemed to smile behind me and continued to follow me wherever I went.

I and Grea walked through the academy hallway.

Glances and glares flew towards me like a free Wi-Fi in the middle of a coffee shop. Some don't even hide their malicious intent towards me.

Ah… this is nice…

"Just a slight bit more, sir Dante… please act like someone of your station!" she glares at me before lightly slapping my shoulder. Sighing extra heavily, I slapped myself in the cheeks to refresh myself before entering hell on earth. Which is anywhere with more than 10 people.

After a long time, we were finally in front of a large door guarded by two-guard.

I stood before the two guards before they opened the door for the teacher.

That is not my desire, but that is indeed their job.

Nodding to the bored-looking guards stationed on the big door. They nod back before opening said door and gesturing me and Grea inside.

"Irregular teacher ... it looks like you don't forget the meeting ... please come in, everyone has been waiting for your presence", exclaimed one of the guards and opened the door for me and Grea.

After that, I went inside with Grea.

I saw a large table surrounded by 10 chairs and occupied by teachers at the academy.

10 chairs, 9 oh so noble teachers all glaring at me like. I just sat on their ancestor's grave. All because I was slightly late. Except for Leazuz, he's cool. He's afraid of me but his attitude is still cool.

Also seen at the very end, the chair with a different ornament from the others was occupied by Alexandro or the so-called Master Leazuz here.

"You're late, again. For five days in a row. Have you heard of discipline? I heard it's quite useful… but then again I don't expect a fancy dressing hobo to have any manner…" the only female teacher ranted.

Hearing that, all the teachers turned their annoyed eyes towards me.

Grea. The pure little ball of sunshine that she is. Is ready to apologize on my behalf. Now I can't let her do that, can we? Not without me getting the last word in.

I walked towards the empty seat that became my place.

Sliding my chair, I sighed in the content before smiling politely. "I'll be good grandma… so can we start this before she nagged us all to death… I swear it's a potent death curse…"

From the look of it? She's fuming. It's a safe bet that she consider slitting my throat when I sleep. Not that it's a problem.

I sat comfortably, while Grea remained behind me.

After that, the white mage began a conversation to break the ice.

"Ehem." Leazuz cleared his throat, making the room deathly silent "let's not bicker like children… I wouldn't want the staff to be whiny children's when I have too many of them already."

"Okay… let's start by bringing forth any relevant complaints and problems." Leazuz's voice echoes through the room.

I lazily raised my hand and said "I appreciate you sending someone to fix my class' furniture and facilities… bit we need to use the field, least the class won't be damaged."

The teacher started murmuring angrily. "Keep destroying the school property and you might even drain our funds dry without doing anything."

"Well, keep discriminating against my students and withhold the right to the training equipment's from us and we'll keep doing this…" I waved my hand in dismissal as he fumed "Then again, you guys are too busy jerking each other off with your titles to bother doing anything useful."

"Watch your word! You are-"

"It's fine…" Leazuz dismissed them. "Though Sir Dante's word is a bit… crass… I forgot to distribute access to the training equipment."

The chatter died down, though the glares intensified. "Hmph" I smirked victoriously. Eat shit, listen to what my punching bag said.

And connected with the chatter of other old teachers.

Grea who tried to stop me looked resigned and bowed her head to everyone.

But I did not listen to the words of other teachers and only looked at the white mage who began to sweat.

"Damn, I forgot that the teacher has not received permission to use the facilities at the academy, gaze and intimidation continues to be felt even after all this time I have not seen him", muttered white mage with fear.

The gaze of his old teacher was like intimidation that was so great, although it could not be seen by everyone, it was seen that his hands were shaking.

"Well ... this is also my fault for not allowing Dante's instructors to use the field all this time, starting tomorrow you will get my permission to use facilities. Please calm down and continue the meeting today, "exclaimed the white mage.

After that, the teachers start to sit down and calm themselves down.

"On another note, the Hero's return festival is approaching." He sighed and continues "We haven't prepared the students, not mentioning all the other works we have to do we haven't had enough time to tell him…"

"What the hell are they talking about?" I whispered to Grea.

"Hero's return festival… where students fought as heroes and monsters for the position of the champion." Grea whispered back.

I flinched. That's good? I guess for increasing morale… but something told me that's not all.

"What about the part where they are going to tell someone? Any other golden as we should worry about?"

Grea shook her head. "I don't know…"

Bang!

Everybody snapped their head to the door to see a livid 52 looking grandpa.

"WHO BURNED ALL OF MY BOOK?!" he roared with the ferocity of an entitled lion.

Then all the teachers pointed towards me.

Seeing that, the white mage stood up and tried to speak to that person

"Sir Ramon, this is your successor… you should've received your retirement letter." Leazuz said.

But the reaction from the teacher Ramon was just anger, he immediately walked towards me and hit the table in front of me.

"You ... how dare you to throw away and destroy a history book that I have worked so hard to write", he shouted with anger on his face.

He absolutely gave no shit. His face, twisted with rage glared at me. He stomped towards me while trying his hardest to imitate a Giant. I mean… it's working… but I've killed too many giants to care.

I raised my eyebrow and smirked.

"Do you doubt the authenticity of the story of the hero who is lame and always brings destruction in every place he goes to huh!" he exclaimed who looked very confident in what he was talking about.

"How dare you ignore history? My research is legit! The scam of a hero is legit! How dare you try to brainwash them with false history!" He yelled while pointing at me. I swear this school couldn't be more childish if they tried.

I crossed my arms and tried not to let out the slightest strength.

"Sir Ramos, I told you that your book is-" Leazuz tried… he really did. Though when he looked at me crossing my arm he sighed and backs off.

"I have held my position as this academy's researcher in hero history for decades! The story you wrote is absurd!" he yelled at Lazazuz. The white mage. The headmaster of this school. The man got balls.

The head of the academy was not unable to stop Ramos's words, but he was forced to for certain reasons and it was all seen from the face of the white mage that could not dispute the words from him.

I saw all the teachers fell silent and bowed their heads, even to see it did not dare.

Grea also looked away from me because she realized there would be something.

"What the hell is your problem? There's a reason he's called a hero. He HELPS People! That means your ungrateful grandpa's too!" I exclaimed.

However, the answer from him was much unexpected.

"Why do I hate him?" he chuckled lightly "For one he killed his own teacher for pow-".

"Shut the fuck up." Cold anger washed over me as I unconsciously released a fraction of my mana "You know… nothing… you hear me?"

"Nothing…"

I unconsciously let out an aura of strong intimidation that even cracked the floor with just my screams.

All the other teachers began to drift away from the two of us, while the white magician was flooded with cold sweat at the sight of his angry teacher in front of him.

While the other teachers recoiled in fright, Ramon glared at me. Too angry, too prideful to back down.

"Take back what you said…" I glared at him in return. My aura steadily increasing.

"Tch, your strength won't scare me ... if you want me to pull back then," exclaimed the Ramon teacher who tried to take off the gloves he was wearing and then tossed them in my face.

"Enough words" He cockily smiled. He threw his glove at me. Hitting my face.

"You have to beat me in the match tomorrow ... if I win, you have to bend down and apologize with your head touching the floor to me", he yelled at me with a feeling of extreme hatred.

"I'll make you take back your words tomorrow…"
