Mei Ling silently listened to the story of Ni Loung, feeling a bit... She didn't know how to describe it but she was feeling a bit of pity for this Mer.
Her obliviousness and dense self ignored this love-struck Mer.
But, what could she do now? She is now married to five mers.
Although it's not her fault that she was now married, there is this tiny feeling of guilt on why she hadn't notice this mer's feeling before.
Diving into her memories, there is indeed that one person who keeps appearing near her.
Mei Ling found that the unfamiliar and blurred face in her memories actually belonged to Ni Loung.
'So... He was actually seducing me?' Mei Ling has never been good at social cues, one of the reasons she was never given the role of acting as a spy in her academy time.
'How should I deal with this?' A cold sweat dripped down Mei Ling's face. She was never good at coaxing people, more on, crying ones.
And it's not like she can escape when there's so many stares watching her like a hawk.
'Dear brothers, I wished one of you can save me from this predicament.'
Mei Ling has never wished for something so adamantly like now.
Han, who was watching his wife's complexion, noticed her torn's face and immediately reacted.
He exchanged looks with Lin, who immediately noticed his signal, and then cleared his throat.
Lin then proceeded to whisper to San and Rin.
"Wife, why don't you leave the talk to us, Mers?" Han softly suggested, glancing at the opposite Mer.
Ni Loung frowned at the offer but still nodded in agreement. He cannot bear the way his beloved woman's face became torn with conflict.
Stared by determined eyes, Mei Ling mechanically stood up and was pushed away by San. Cooperating with the red-haired spouse was Rin, who opened the door for her, and also slowly closed it at her back.
'Am I going to act as a guard?' Mei Ling blankly wondered, ignoring the curious looks of the passing employees and the sneaky peeks of the shop's owners themselves.
'Fine. I'll be the guard. It works on my favor, anyway.' Mei Ling internally sighed, glad that she doesn't need to be involve in a talk.
Let's just cross my arms and seriously act as a guard.
---
Rin sighed as he sat back on his seat, while San glared and pouted on one side.
Han, who was the oldest among the five mers, gestured to the sulking Mer in front of him.
"Mr. Ni, please calm down, and let's have a peaceful talk."
Ni Loung snorted, but obediently cooperated.
---
'Mhhh... How many more hours before they finish talking?' Mei Ling thought as she looked at the busy employees of the store.
It has been two hours since she was kicked out of the room and the chatters behind the door didn't die down.
Mei Ling have been pitifully standing in front of the changing room. Her back straight, and her posture the same it was two hours ago.
Just when Mei Ling thought that she was going to keep standing for another hour, the door at her back finally opened. And Mei Ling's stiff posture loosened as she looked back.
Ni Loung's face was calm and the expression of her spouses behind him was the same.
'It was as if...they reached an agreement.' Mei Ling blinked before glancing at Han.
"Is your conversation finished?"
Han's ocean blue eyes lowered as he answered in a soft voice, "It did. Sorry for making it too long, wife."
"No worries." Mei Ling glanced at Ni Loung.
Ni Loung's initial unhappy mood has calmed down, and he smiled at her, affection almost flowing out of his eyes.
'What exactly did these six talked about?' Mei Ling regretted not eavesdropping. If she have, maybe she would know the reason why Ni Loung was still happily smiling at her.
"Miss Mei Ling, I will be going now." Ni Loung's light purple eyes narrowed, and he smiled beautifully.
Stunned, Mei Ling watched as the entertainer walked out of the shop, and then looked back to her spouses, who were sporting knowing smiles.
"I have a simple question, just what do the six of you have talked about inside?" Mei Ling voiced out, but was met with silence.
"Fine. It's your private talk." Mei Ling shrugged and muttered before approaching the old couple who suddenly appeared near the room.
"Old Ci and old Ma, having fun spectating?"
"Hoho, of course, this is the first time the aloof huntress was involved in a drama." Old Ma snickered along with Old Ci.
Sighing, Mei Ling gestured to her spouses, "Are their clothes and my purchases ready?"
"Of course. We specially rented a carriage to send all your things back to your house." Old Ma quipped.
"Thank you." Politely nodding to the old couple, Mei Ling walked to her waiting spouses.
"Let's go home. The things we've purhased has been delivered to the house. But then, if the five of you wanted to tour around, I wouldn't mind." Mei Ling suggested.
"We'll follow you home, wife." Jin smiled sweetly.
"Yes, today is a... tiring day. We would like to go home in peace." San grumbled. Mei Ling was surprised that the fussy mer was so compliant today.
"Hmm." Han gently nodded, agreeing with the two.
"If so, let's go out." Mei Ling gently nodded and led out her spouses, and then waved at a passing carriage.
"Mr. De, here."
"Oh! Congratulations, Mei Ling! I heard from the neighbors that you got married! This old man is happy that you finally got some companions to accompany you." The old man jolly greeted.
"Thank you, Old De." Mei Ling smiled while helping her spouses to enter the carriage.
"Married life sure is different. You're glowing, Mei Ling." De Luo grinned upon seeing the woman hold the brown-haired man's waist and gently lifting him in.
"Am I? Then, it is all thanks to my husbands." Mei Ling smiled before entering the carriage.
"At my house, Old De."
"The usual then." De Lu smiled as he whipped the horse's back.
---
Inside the carriage, Mei Ling stared at Han.
"Is there really no problems regarding Entertainer Ni? You can tell me and I can help."
"Hush, wife. We and entertainer Ni has entered a deal. Nothing for you to worry about." Rin smiled.
'That what's make me curious.' Mei Ling blinked.
"Can I asked what kind of deal?"
"N- no." Lin shook his head.
"It's a- secret deal between Mers." Lin continued and Mei Ling, defeated, just sighed.
"Okay. I'll stop asking you about that." Mei Ling murmured before staring off the distance on the carriage window.
