Prologue: Countdown to the End (5,123:45)

The Cloud Garden was destroyed and what remained of it was just the thirty-seven chairs and the formation. It was now completely exposed to the clear skies that surrounded it.

The room remained connected to the tower that once supported it by a stream of transparent ice. So, clear that it seemed the remains of the Cloud Garden was floating in the sky.

In the center of the room, Xuan Yi had taken control of completing the formation. While Feng Yue sat in the centermost chair.

"I'm sorry, Xuan Yi."

Each word was slow, hoarse and painful. Liu Wenji who could be mistaken for a withered, dried-out corpse. Slumped in the seat that was hers.

"In our arrogance, we did not think. We did not think they could strike the Cloud Garden."

The regret in her sunken eyes carried through to her rasping voice. And if tears existed in her they would be shed.

"Rest easy, sister, it was 'my mistake' (due to my actions)."

Confusion crossed her and the intuition she had ignored screamed at her. Her thoughts spun, and insight flashed. She tried to speak, give a warning but she lacked the strength. Her discovery using up the last bit of life she could muster.

Her eyes closed heavily with regret. An arrogant fool and a twisted monster. Was her last thought.

Liu Wenji unable to hold on seemed to slowly fade away. Dying just like Duo Wen before her.

Out of the thirty-seven, only one was filled now. Feng Yue who now sat in the center laughed. Sounding half-mad he leaned back and looked up into the sky.

"Losing always has such a bitter taste… can you finish it?"

Feng Yue asked his gaze on Xuan Yi's back. The latter seemed to think for a moment and then stopped working on the formation. Confusion flittered onto Feng Yue's face. As Xuan Yi turned to face him.

"With your help, yes."
