As the youths did as they pleased within limits. The Elders' image stood in front of their respective places. Well, it would be more accurate to say their "shadows" stood there.
As the image was so obscure that the youths before them could not see their features or that of Lord Ruo.
It was an unwritten rule that all the leaders would be present on this day, but some may have matters to deal with outside and could not attend in person.
So, all leaders would only use a spell body to appear. Even if they could make it in person. As such, all nine current leaders of the Sect and Clan were represented by a purple silhouette.
Due to this all nine were communicating silently through a spell. If one was sensitive to Qi, like only four people among the procession were. They could see that the air rippled back and forth between the leaders of Qing Ruo.
However, if one could not only sense it but knew and understood Qi deeply they would be able to read what every one of these tremors carried.
"Say, Brother Chu. Doesn't your Tan Cui seem a bit too relax."
"Forgive this one for the unsightly display. She lacks discipline."
"Then it seems she'll be a regular at Brother Fu."
"If she is, then isn't that both the fault of Brother Chu and Brother Yue.
"Speaking of potential problem children. Dai Jing, whatever got your son in such a rage. He looks like he's ready to rampage."
"He is a… good child. His eyes are just a little fierce."
"A little fierce, we all heard the story of how you almost dropped him after he was born."
The air rippled with laughter.
"Please, my wife still brings that up in arguments. I could not handle my brothers and sister bullying me for it as well."
Another ripple of laughter.
"Since we are mentioning the Major Families. Little Sister Fan, when will you tell us of Fan Hua's father. He must have been a daring man to win your willful heart."
"This one, kindly asks that Lord Ruo forgives her. My heart hurts (trembles) thinking of what occurred."
"Sister, only when you are ready."
"Ha, just because your blood siblings don't mean you get to steal a march. Sister Fan we are all here for you."
"Thank you."
"I guess it must be said."
"Indeed, I feel it necessary even now."
"I'll do it."
"Brother Zhi? Well, if you wish. You are worthy of being Lord Ruo if I disappeared, after all."
"That burden is much too heavy. For this weak one."
Laughter rippled out again. And then the mood turned serious. All reflections turned to the empty seat.
"Forgive us for our incompetence, Fourth Brother. Your very existence was a treasure to Qing as a whole. And you giving your life back then to stop a threat from forcing us into desperate straits. Were the Heroic actions that were the epitome of who you were. A Hero and a Guardian to Qing. Fourth Elder your presence will be deeply missed by all of Qing."
After the Second Elder spoke. The leaders of Qing Ruo bowed to the seat.
An action that was not seen by the resting youths.
"What do you think the results of the Xuan Brothers will be?"
"Is it selfish of me to hope that Xuan Yu achieves the results of my sister. While Xuan Yi achieves the results of his brother-in-law."
"I think we all have such a hope Brother Ruo."
"Sadly-…"
"No need to hesitate when speaking the truth. Xuan Yi has shown himself to be little more than a shadow to Xuan Yu. While Xuan Yu shows great potential. As he has shown his mother's intelligence and comprehension skills. We have seen none of Brother Shen's talent in Xuan Yi or a hint of his mother."
"As it stands… if Xuan Yu is the only one to perform well. It can be said he was the only good seed."
"Don't say it like that."
"Even if Xuan Yi is useless. If we don't remember he is Qing Ruo Xuan Yi. Qing Ruo Xuan Yu will certainly remember he is. He tolerates all that clinging after all."
"I think it's cute though. When Fan Ya and I were little like that. She used to cling fiercely to my sleeve as well."
"Big brother…"
Xuan Yu took his attention off of the Elder's conversation. His eyes turned to the Qi Spring and he watched as a slow, ripple rang out from the middle to the end.
Tan Cui half opened one of her eyes watching the ripple as well and then closed it.
'It is time.'
