Main Chapter: Geniuses can’t do things normally.

As Lou Jian was praising Seung Do, till the latter was completely red and Hou Xiang elbowed him. The rain had finally started to fall.

Noticing it Mou Lin cast a spell and raising his hand up fired a white beam. That spread out into a clear barrier that covered the group.

"Hey, Teach, when will you teach us to do that."

"At the rate, you guys learned these techniques, maybe tomorrow."

After some light humor, it was Dai Tian's turn and thanks to the easy-going atmosphere he wasn't that nervous. After a glance from Mou Lin, he nodded and stepped forth.

Performing 7 hand sign he summoned a Still Pond. However, instead of just stopping in front of him the edges extended outward until they covered his side.

"I'll be counting on Instructor Lin, to teach me to form a dome."

With those words, Dai Tian's barrier stopped stretching.

"Of course."

Mou Lin answered as he tested the barrier, that proved even stronger than Hou Dun's. Seeing, the barrier that was stronger than his and noticing Dai Tian's fluid motion. He knew the latter's overall score was as good as if not better than his. And with it being a variant spell.

Hou Dun dug his nails into his hand but quickly centered himself.

Next Dai Tian did 5 signs quicker than anyone of his classmates before him. And smoothly fired a bolt of Moon Fire that smashed into the training dummy. Covering it in amethyst flames that lasted over a minute.

Leaving behind a completely charred target.

"Hey, Teach, what's the mark for that?"

After seeing Dai Tian nodded, Mou Lin thought a little and then said.

"99, 1 mark from power."

Most of the students were shocked, Dai Tian included.

"Tian you did amazing."

Xuan Yi congratulated his new friend and then Lou Jian and Fan Hua congratulated him as well.

"Xuan Yu, ready?"

"I would like to request a specific reward as well."

"Hmm, how about we go with requested rewards for everyone's results. And for better results, you can go with higher requests?"

Seeing most of the class nod. Mou Lin took to writing in his book for a bit. When he was finished Xuan Yu stepped forward.

7 quick signs then a pause, 5 quick signs then a pause and finally another 5 quick signs.

The Still Pond flickered into being guarding an image of Xuan Yu while the real Xuan Yu who was now by the training dummies fired a beam of Moon Fire at his own Still Pond. Smashing into it and cascading over it. Burning with such intensity that his classmates could all feel the fierce heat.

However, the Still Pond didn't waver or did the image of Xuan Yu. Seeing the more than stellar results his classmates were shocked or awed, one didn't care, and a few had complicated feelings. Xuan Yu was obvious a genius but with his talent, his limit made his genius pitiful instead.

Mou Lin on the other had a hand in his hair. Pointlessly trying to rub away an incoming headache.

"You're going to ask for something difficult aren't you."

Mou Lin said unintentionally slipping into a more casual tone.

"I'll be relying on you to keep your word."

"I wouldn't be much of a teacher if I didn't."

"Teacher, teacher how did he do it? How many marks was that?"

Lou Jian was more than a little excited and loud enough that those by his side was frowning a bit.

"It's called delayed casting and its full marks on each. Xuan Yu you can end the spell now."

With that, the three spells faded away and Xuan Yu returned to where he was. Though some was going to congratulate him, Mou Lin wasn't finished speaking.

"Your base results are on the level of students at the end of the first year. You are doing delayed spells that you were supposed to learn in your second year. And variant spells that you were supposed to learn in your third year.

To be honest, it would seem like you are the best in the Qing Mountains. But the son of Lady Ai is considered to be a feared monster in his own clan. Despite being as young as you guys are.

And the Qui have four youths with more than enough talent to be overconfident. With their leader being undefeated among his peers and seniors.

Looking at you guys and hearing about them. I feel like you all will end up conflicting eventually. When you do I hope you will come away from it with no regrets."

As they took in his words. Mou Lin turned his gaze to Tan Cui who nodded and then step forward. Her eyes that were pretty much closed opened briefly.

7 signs quicker than Dai Tian, just as quick as Xuan Yu. Then a pause and 5 more signs.

In the eyes of the students, Tan Cui disappeared, and a hole suddenly appeared in the training dummy that was in front of her.

Of course, Mou Lin the only one who could keep up with her movement saw everything. Tan Cui had fired off a condensed thin line of Moon Fire that pierced the center of the dummies head. Singeing the entire area around it. And after firing it off she rippled to a point she had been eyeing since they entered the field and curled up there.

Seeing her behavior Mou Lin laughed a bit and the rest of the students who were interested followed his eyes and saw where she was.

"Dai Tian, did she try to learn the Still Pond spell?"

At Mou Lin's question, the former shook his head.

"Elder Tan said that she needed to learn at least two spells. So, she only learned two."

"Tan Cui even if you have your own methods you should still learn the Still Pond spell. I believe you will find it easy to integrate with your own methods."

A barely audible "mm" was the only response.

"Lou Jian, ready?"

"Ah, Teacher, I wasn't really getting the spell, so I gave up."
