What's The Difference

Lu Shan removed his suit jacket, unfastened his cufflink then folded his sleeves to arms length.

Once his made himself comfortable, he moved towards the bed.

He sat down close to Xinghe and stroked her hair gently.

She knew when Lu Shan entered the room, because she wasn't sleeping.

But she didn't want to look him in the eyes, afraid that her feelings will overwhelm her.

So she wanted to pretend to be sleeping, so Lu Shan won't bother disturbing her. But it seems like she has to face him.

When he stroked her hair, she felt a chill run down her spine.

'Shan gege, I love you.' she thought to herself.

'Let's not get an annulment.' she begged in her thought.

"Swan." he called her and she slowly opened her eyes.

Slowly she sat up, but didn't meet his gaze.

"Swan, what's wrong?" Lu Shan asked her.

She didn't say anything but shook her head.

"Are you sure?" he asked again.

She nodded.

"Nanny said you've refused to eat something." he said.

"Because I'm not hungry." she said.

"Why are you not hungry, are you not feeling well?" he asked her.

"I'm fine." she replied just before the door open and Nanny Rong walked in carrying the food that she had just microwaved.

She passed the tray to Lu Shan, and lu Shan thanked her, before she left the room.

"It's time to eat Swan." he said before using the chop stick to pick the rice.

Lu Shan placed the food close to Xinghe's mouth, but she didn't open up.

"Give me the food, I can feed myself. " she said trying to take the chop stick from Lu Shan.

"Don't worry, I will feed you myself. I want to make sure you eat very well." he said to her smiling.

"I'm not a little girl." she replied.

"I never said you are little, I just want to make sure you eat enough. Besides what's the deal, this is not going to be the first time I had fed you, and you've never stopped me,what's the difference now?. What's going on?" he asked her, his eyes searching her face for any hint.

"I said nothing is wro.."

"Good, because I'm feeding you and that's final. Now open your mouth."

Xinghe didn't argue anymore, she just allowed Lu Shan to feed her. As Lu Shan fed her she couldn't help blushing, and she could only pray that lu Shan wouldnt notice.

She ate very well, almost finishing the food. Lu Shan was satisfied, then he got up and took the plates downstairs.

When Nanny Rong saw him carrying the tray, she went to him immediately.

Seeing that Xinghe almost finished the food, Nanny Rong was so happy.

Lu Shan handed the tray over to her, turned around and went back upstairs.

Getting to the room, he went into the bathing room and showered.

When he came out, he was already dressed for the night. He was in his Pj.

He went straight to the couch and layed down.

"Isn't your back hurting?"  Xinghe asked him.

"No, I'm fine." Lu Shan replied.

"You don't have to pretend, come and lie on the bed." she told him.

"No Swan, I'm okay." he refused.

"The bed is big, we can share."  she said.

Seeing that she was persistent, Lu Shan had to to agree. Sleeping on the couch hasn't been easy, his back was always aching.

"Are you sure, I don't want make you uncomfortable." he wanted to confirm that she was okay with him on the bed next to her.

"You said it yourself. We've always shared a bed, even before we got married. So what's the difference now."

And with that Lu Shan got up and joined her on the bed, while she adjusted to give him space.

"From today, you are not permitted to sleep on the couch again." she said.

"From today, you are not permitted to starve yourself, no matter what might be bothering you. Is that understood?."

She smiled while she nodded her head.
