Gratitude

The matter of the attack was neatly wrapped up with the conclusion of the meeting. Right after, Elder Hao Zhen mysteriously disappeared without a trace, but no one paid much mind to it. After all who can guess the intention behind a peerless expert?

Tian Hao Ran was expelled as a disciple from the Seven Color Treasure Sect for concluding with a demon and bringing harm upon his peers. Throughout the sect his reputation became infamous for being the shortest lived disciple of the sect. In fact, amongst the disciples his name have already elevated to the point where if you stub your toe against a chair or trip while walking, you would say "Hao Ran that bastard!"

Cultivation sects whether big or small, famous or unknown, all value loyalty above all. After all with a lifespan of several generations, how tedious would it be if they are constantly backstabbing each other? This is especially true for a sect as prestigious as the Seven Color Treasure Sect with deep roots. Since the time it was founded, the number of traitors can be counted on one hand. Cultivators would rather die than bring shame to their sect.

The sun was starting to rise giving away to a peeking dawn. A senior disciple out of consideration decided to accompany Liu Shi Meng, Chun Yang Huang, and Chun Hong Yue back to their room.

"Junior brothers and sister, tonight must have been hard on you. Take care to rest well." The senior disciple have an amiable smile and spoke in a sincere tone. His eyes look over at them with a tinge of worry.

Liu Shi Meng gave a polite smile. Whether or not the night was hard he doesn't know, but he knows that at the very least he wasn't tired in the slightest. "Many thanks for Senior brother's worry. Tonight had indeed been eventful. To think that I would have such an encounter right after joining the sect! The world of cultivation is indeed filled with many wonders!"

Seeing that Liu Shi Meng seems to be fine, the Senior disciple relaxed and chucked. They had reached the disciple's living quarter. The Senior disciple stopped a few feet away from Liu Shi Meng's room. "There should still be several hours before your first lesson I believe. This Senior brother won't hold up your rest anymore."

After seeing them walk into their room, the Senior disciple walked away.

Laying against the bed inside was Dong He Shui. After expelling the demonic aura inside him he was completely fine. "Hey, you guys are back."

Having missed out on most of the action, Dong He Shui excitingly grilled them for information. "Was it true that Tian Hao Rao betrayed the sect? Hmph, I wouldn't be surprised if he was actually a demon in disguise too!"

The real demons in disguise "..."

Feng Mo and Kong Ling had both received an order to subdue a demon running rampage in a village, but none of them had the heart to leave before reassuring themselves of Liu Shi Meng's safety.

In Liu Shi Meng's past life, the closest thing he to a parent would be his sister, Chun Yang Huang. In this life, he had the fortune of having a parent but even that was short lived. Liu Shi Meng couldn't help but feel gratitude in his heart again for the two cultivators that raised him.

Looking at Chun Yang Huang and Chun Hong Yue a wave of nostalgia swept over him. Though none of them were related by blood, they are more loyal to each other than even true siblings are. No matter how proud they are they were never proud with each other. No matter how sad they are, they never take it out on each other. Falling deep into thoughts, Liu Shi Meng began reminiscing about the day the three of them became sworn siblings...
