Some thoughts on reviews 2

The approach of native speakers is interesting, for some reason they think that they are some kind of white bone, aristocrats. Just because their native language is the language of international communication. They want to see flawless language proficiency from everyone else, which is not often the case. Constantly reminded of writing without errors. Yes, of course, ideally, this is necessary, but the world is far from ideal.

And if the representative of the English-speaking culture sees a text that does not correspond to his high aristocratic spirit, then he simply brushes this off. Even if he has already received a review of his work ... Well, this is such a familiar spirit of imperialism for the inhabitants of the colonies. Nothing new.

I have always said that in order to get a good result, a balance must be maintained between a smooth and beautiful form of the text and valuable content.

In reality, we see either a beautiful form of the text and the absence of any valuable information in the content. Or interesting content but poor language of presentation, not typical construction of phrases. And rarely, a combination of two qualitative forms and high-quality content.

Sometimes authors write their works from telephones; there is generally no need to talk about any grammar and spelling.

Prejudice, black PR, trolls, 1 star and 5 star spam in combination with them, these are all the realities of publishing short stories.

Among them, you very rarely see those who belong to a world without swagger, who can write you a classic resume criticizing and analyzing your text and content.

Typically, reviewers do not read the writings of the authors, but simply joke, the value of their reviews from the point of view of literature is close to zero.

On the other hand, to get a subjective look with inconspicuous criticism is not perceived adequately by all.

Where to find the middle ground?

It is likely to adhere to established standards when writing reviews, so that the assessment is clear, understandable, for which they put more stars, for which less.

Of course, while the existing system of evaluating work is not perfect. But I hope in the future it will change. But changing the attitude of swaggering people is much more complicated.

But everyone has the right to choose.
