Arrival in Mistral

With an entire day's worth of trekking through the woods towards the city of Mistral behind them, and killing lots of Grimm along the way, Mesa and the gang decide to make camp for the night. They had covered at least 100km (62 mi) that day alone. So using his wood style jutsu, Mesa created a house for them camp in for the night. And outside their camp, he set up a 2-layered Bounded Field outside. The first layer was to subconsciously prevent any onlookers from noticing them. And the second layer was a barrier that kept out everyone.

(A.N.: Since the kingdom of Mistral and its capital share the same name, I gonna henceforth, when I say Mistral, refer to the City of Mistral, the capital, and not the kingdom, since it would be very tedious to constantly write out 'City of Mistral' constantly when every time I refer to the city and not the kingdom. I will make it clear when I refer to the kingdom of Mistral.)

So with their camp all set and done, Mesa went to work preparing a good meal for the three of them, while the Jasmine and Ophis took out their beds from the Sky Poison Pearl and set up their rooms for the night. As they are sitting around the table and having dinner, the three started to plan out what they were going to do moving forward.

"So I have done some quick math and I have come to the conclusion that if we are to kill the bare minimum number of Grimm each day in order to keep up with the time constraint we have been given, then we should be killing 9,125 Grimm each day. And I know we are not close to that number today." Said Jasmine.

"You are correct Jasmine." Confirmed Mesa.

"After all that constant pinging in my head, I had set the Grimm counter notification to silent. So I looked at it just now and all 5 of us have killed a total of 732 Grimm today. Guess Ran and Shaw have spent most of the day just flying around and exploring Remnant." Said Mesa.

"But that means that we are woefully behind schedule, which means we need to find a way to drastically speed up this process." Said Jasmine.

"And we also need to find a way to make a living in this world, considering the fact that we are now stuck in this world. And I will not abandon that Infinity Stone just because the going gets tough." Said Mesa.

Mesa had brought up that he had asked JARVIS if there was any difference in the scoring between the species. And though the answer was no, there was a difference in the scoring in each of the individual species. Killing the regular Grimm granted 1 point. Killing the Alpha versions of each species would grant 5 points. But if they found and killed any legendary Grimm like Wyverns, Hydras, Balrogs or any other legendary Grimm, then they would be granted 10 points.

So, with dinner done and everything cleaned up, the three of them sat around the table discussing their current resources and how they could use them to quickly kill more Grimm. Soon, the discussion had turned to the Mind Stone and its immense power and how they could use it to their advantage. Though its telepathic is severely limited right now, they could still expand it. So with that knowledge in mind, they agreed that once they get to the Mistral, they would walk around the Mistral and establish and drastically expand their telepathic network there in order to find out where Grimm are located. The secondary purpose of this telepathic network is to use it to make a living in the City of the Mistral by establishing their group as the greatest Grimm killing mercenaries in the minds of the inhabitants. The tertiary purpose of the telepathic network is to put the fear of their group into the minds of the criminal underworld and to ensure that they know not to mess with them.

As for increasing their Grimm killing. They were aware about the Grimm's attraction towards negative emotions like anger, anguish, fear, hatred and being drawn towards areas of strong negative emotions. And additionally, their habits to congregate in areas that have long been abandoned by humanity where they can still perceive residual negative emotions. These traits in particular were ones that they felt they could use to their advantage. If they could somehow create areas of intense negative emotions, which would be like creating an irresistible aphrodisiac for the Grimm, then they could draw in hundreds, maybe even thousands of Grimm into one area and then they could slaughter them wholesale. Though these areas would have to be far away from any current human/Faunus settlements to prevent any unnecessary deaths.

"Alright, I guess we have a plan for moving forward now. But what are we gonna do once get to Mistral and "establish" our mercenary group? I say we should make up some name for our mercenary group. When we are gonna start slaughtering the Grimm by the thousands, it will be but a matter of time before Salem catches wind of us and she will definitely want us dead by then. At least this way, we'll get her to follow a trail that will get her nowhere." Said Mesa.

"Oh, I know!" Jasmine perked up immediately.

"We are gonna call ourselves the Dark Angels." Said Jasmine enthusiastically with Ophis agreeing to this wholeheartedly.

"Have I ever told you two that you are total weebs." Said Mesa releasing a sigh of utter cringe.

"We know! We just don't care!" Said Jasmine and Ophis simultaneously.

"Alright fair enough, I guess." Said Mesa not bothering himself with this discussion.

"I know you two have been getting into Warhammer 40,000 a lot lately. But why should we call our mercenary group the Dark Angels?" Asked Mesa.

"Because the Dark Angels are the First Space Marine Legion and thus the best." Said Ophis confidently with Jasmine nodding along.

"And Lion El'Jonson is the first and best Primarch of them all." Said Jasmine with equal amounts of confidence with Ophis nodding along.

"Alright. But that still doesn't answer my question." Said Mesa.

"And also because the name Dark Angels is just so badass and mysterious and fear invoking…" Said Jasmine.

"And totally edge lord." Interrupted Mesa.

"Yeah, who cares." Said Jasmine dismissively and waving her hand for emphasis.

"I say that the only fair way for us to decide our group name is by democratic consensus." Said Jasmine.

"So all those in favor of naming our group 'The Dark Angels' say AYE."

AYE! [JASMINE]

AYE! [OPHIS]

"All those opposed to naming our group 'The Dark Angels' say NAY."

Sticking up his hand, Mesa just released a weak 'nay'.

"The motion has been passed, our mercenary group will henceforth be known as 'The Dark Angels'." Said Jasmine.

"Alright fine, you win. But I will by taking the name Lion El'Jonson for myself, because I do agree with you that that is a cool name. So you two are gonna have to come up with your own fake names." Said Mesa.

Looking at each other for a second, Jasmine and Ophis turn back to Mesa and agreed with him on that one.

"So what more can you tell me about Lion El'Jonson and the Dark Angels, in case I need that information to enhance our reputation in Mistral." Said Mesa.

And thus Jasmine and Ophis had managed to pull in Mesa into the world Warhammer 40,000. They did not just keep it at the Dark Angels and Lion El'Jonson like Mesa wanted. But instead, they went all out and explained everything about Warhammer 40,000.

(A.N.: For those who have not yet noticed it, I myself have been getting a lot into Warhammer 40,000 and when this idea for naming their mercenary group 'The Dark Angels' popped into my head, I could not resist using it. I know I am total weeb, I just don't care.)

So after a night of a lot of 40k exposition, the newly minted Dark Angels mercenary group set out once again towards the Mistral. But instead of walking all the way there, even though their walking was more like sprinting for hours on end, they decided to take to the skies and fly towards the Mistral. So taking out Vimana from the Gate of Babylon, the three of them took off towards the Mistral.

Instead of flying high in the skies, Mesa took Vimana just a few hundred feet above the trees and flew at a pace that would allow anyone to see them fly over their heads if they stood below them, instead of seeing just a blur go past. This was done on purpose in order to ensure that if they saw any Grimm in the forests below, they could kill them immediately. And them flying at this height and speed also ensured that any flying Grimm that saw them would also swoop down in a vain attempt at killing them, which obviously would end up with their own deaths.

So with the entire day spent flying towards Mistral, they came to within 50 km (31 mi) of the outskirts of Mistral before they touched down and Mesa had stowed away Vimana and completed the rest of the journey on foot. And as expected of a capital city like Mistral, there were little to no Grimm so close to it. The city was almost entirely built on a mountain with its lower levels fanning out into the valley below. And it was here in this valley where 'The Dark Angels' would build their new base.

About 2 km (1.2 mi) away from the outskirts of Mistral and surrounded by nothing but grasslands, Mesa once again used his wood style jutsu to build a house. And around this house he had set up 2 Bounded Fields. The outer Bounded Field made the house that Mesa built look like a small medieval European castle keep. And this outer Bounded Field had a secondary effect that anyone that walked through it would still be under the effect of the illusion, even if they walked inside this 'castle keep'. The inner Bounded Field gave a warning to Mesa, Jasmine and Ophis that someone had walked through it and was approaching the 'castle keep'.

So, with their base of operation complete, it was time for Mesa to go into the city itself and start establishing the telepathic network and expand it to cover the entirety of the Mistral. Summoning his 10 shadow clones and with them using Transformation Jutsu to disguise themselves 10 different people, all eleven of the Mesa's set off for the city. As Mesa is walking through the streets of Mistral, he ensured that everyone whom his eyes fell upon and whose minds he then touched and added to his telepathic network would ignore him and subsequently forget about him using the power of the Mind Stone. This was to ensure that none would bother him while he busy. He would spread the rumors about his new mercenary group, the Dark Angels, at a later time. So with that in mind, Mesa traversed every street of Mistral and walked into every home, every bar, every shop and every other establishment and even Haven Academy itself and touching the minds of every inhabitant of Mistral. Often times, if he could not walk through the front door, he'd just use Kamui to through the walls in order find the Mistralians that were inside. And this process was repeated ad nausuem, without rest, until an entire two days had gone by before he was finally finished.

So after that whole thing was done and finished, Mesa had dispersed his shadow clones and returned to their base. In keeping with the whole 'Dark Angels' aesthetic, they named their base 'The Rock'. Walking in, Mesa plunks down onto the couch in the living room. Though the house that Mesa had built looked like a regular two storied suburban home, he had added an addition to the ground level that would function as the great hall of 'The Rock' where those who would come and petition 'The Dark Angels' would be received.

"Have you finished?" Asked Ophis who was already sitting on the couch carefully painting her miniature when Mesa plunked down next to her.

"Yup." Said Mesa wearily. "It took two whole days, but I am finally done with establishing the telepathic network."

"So now we can truly begin in earnest with our plans." Said Jasmine who was sitting opposite of Ophis and engrossed in painting her own miniature.

"Indeed." Said Mesa and with a single psychic pulse of the Mind Stone, he had sent out the rumor of the arrival of 'The Dark Angels' to Mistral.

Inside a bar in the lower levels of Mistral, a trio of three men were sitting at a table and enjoying their drinks.

"Hey guys, did you hear about the new rumor going around." Said one of the men to other two. "They say that the Dark Angels have set up a new base just outside of the city."

At the mention of that, the other two start choking and couching on their drinks. When that had subsided, they looked at the one that had shared that news with wide open eyes of shock.

"You mean that mercenary group of THE best and unparalleled Grimm slayers in the world are here?!" Said the second of the trio.

"Yes, that one!" Said the guy that had shared the rumor with them.

"Aren't those Dark Angels like a monastic knightly order that are incredibly secretive?" Asked the last guy of the trio.

"That is what I have heard from the rumors as well." Said the second guy of the trio. "They say that nobody knows what is going on inside that group and that anyone that had tried to join them is turned down."

"Well, they are the best of the best." Said the third guy of the trio. "It's is honestly no wonder that they turn down everyone that tries join them."

"Well, you know what that means." Said the first guy depressingly and taking a long swig of his drink.

"Now that they are here, everyone will try to hire them and there will be less work for the rest of us." Said the second guy and proceeded to take a big swig of his own drink with the third guy downing his own drink as well and ordering another round for the three of them.
