Chapter 2 - Quinn (2/2)

I picked up the book Anya has been studying "paralyzing the body temporally." Of all things to read she reading how to take down the body from the inside.

That's so like her acting like she doesn't care about winning or losing but it does bother her to lose all the time to Ace. So she is taking it into her own hands to learn her own fighting moves. I couldn't help but smile just thinking about it.

I heard her and Ace come into the front door I put the book back where I found it and went to go greet them both. Anya looked so tired and drained but she looked at me and smiled.

"I'm going to go take a shower then we can go study okay?" Anya said as she pulled the ponytail out her long white hair and headed to her room. I want to tell her she doesn't have to study with me tonight but my mouth never opened. I'm being selfish but I miss her so much.

I just want to spend time with her like we did in school. I was bullied when I was little. I remember being tinny and weak but Anya always protected me and sent those bullies running.

Of course when she wasn't around they still picked on me and called me names until I hit a growth spurt and got bigger than those bullies then they stopped messing with me and avoided me as much as possible but things changed when Anya started getting older and more beautiful every passing day. From being protected to being the protector.

She is my bestfriend and my little sister she tells me everything and I tell her everything. I have wanting to ask her about relationship experience but I don't know how to ask her. All of a sudden Anya popped her head into my bedroom door.

"Are you ready to study?" She asked as she walked in and closed the door behind her. "Yeah I was just waiting for you, did you enjoy your shower?" I asked not really knowing what to say. I can feel my cheeks heating up like an idiot for know reason.

She smiled, "okay tell me whats on your mind and don't lie to me cause I know something's going on in that head of yours." She said sitting down in front of me. I knew she was bond to notice my change in behavior.

I know my face is beet red, I opened and closed my mouth like a gulping fish. "I-I I mean.." I cleared my throat, "A girl from my class asked me out on a d-date and I said y-yes, now I don't know what to do." I finally told Anya what was on my mind.

Her eyes got big and round and she covered her mouth with her hands. "W-what... w-why are you looking at like that?" I asked her not sure what she is thinking.

"I'm so happy for you Quinn, what's her name? Is she beautiful? When did she ask you? I have so many questions." Anya asked question after question. That's a relief, she's not angry. "Slow down Anya one question at a time please." I told her with a smile on my face.

"Her name is Amanda and yes she is b-beautiful and she asked me Thursday if I wanted to have d-dinner this Saturday." I answered all of her questions happily.

"I can't wait to meet her I hope things go well between you two. Make sure you get her flowers and act like a perfect gentleman." She kept eye contact with me as she spoke to me. "Of course but what if she doesn't like flowers?" I asked her nervously.

She looked at me confused for a second then started laughing. "Most women don't care about the flowers it's just the thought that counts that matters." She said with a smile that reached her eyes.

"Thank you Anya I knew I could count on you." I told her with a straight face but I can feel the heat rising up my neck.

She giggles. "What are sisters for," she said jokingly. "Alright let's study for a little bit cause I'm really tired and I'm looking forward to tomorrow for the both of us." She said clapping her hands together and moving away from me to grab the book she has been studying for weeks.

"Yeah Ace told me you want to go to the craft store before you head to the gym tomorrow." I cross my legs and grab the closest book next to me. "I'm sorry Ace doesn't want me to go alone." She rolled her eyes and wrinkled her nose in disgust opening her book.

"I don't mind taking you, you know I enjoy spending time with my bestfriend." I said to her burying my face into my study book so she couldn't see my face. "Your not stuttering anymore thats good." She said and I could hear the smile in her voice. She is right I didn't notice until she pointed it out.

We didn't speak to each other for the rest of the night as we buried our faces in our studies but I'll soon regretted not spending every second I had with her.
