I could feel the sweat drip off my face as I punched the punching bag over and over again. I stopped to take a breath and I closed my eyes to calm the rage that has been building in my chest for the past two weeks but I picture Anyas beautiful face and the flames of anger seems to die down a little.
Her smile is starting to look foggy every time I picture her in my head. It's been over two weeks since I've seen her and I miss her so much.
The nightmares of Anya keep getting worse by the night her screaming my name for help and I'm not there to save her.
I opened my eyes and started swinging at the punching bag again. I have to block out the negative thoughts or I'll go crazy over the what if's.
I keep having to remind myself that she is strong and I have trained her well. She is a survivor and a fighter as long as she remembers everything we all have taught her she should be fine.
I know Dimitri is doing everything he can to find a pattern but it's so frustrating that their isn't much I can do to help him. I continued to punch the punching bag until my fists started to hurt but I ignored the pain and continued until I heard someone calling my name.
"Ace...," I turned my head to see Joshua standing not to far away from me.
"What's up?" I asked a little irritated with him for interrupting me.
"Hey I have been calling your name for a few minutes now bro." I could see consern written all over his face.
"Sorry I didn't hear you." I said a little harsher then what I meant for it to sound.
I sighed, "Is their something you need?" I asked a little softer.
"I just wanted to see how your doing." I tried to ignore the pity it his voice and focused my attention back on the punching bag.
"Ask me that question when Anya is back." I said trying to hide the pain in my voice. I couldn't help but feel Joshua who seemed to still be hovering behind me.
"Listen I just wanted to let you know if you need anything to just let me know. I can't even imagine what you and your brothers are going through so.. I just.. I'm sorry." Joshua's voice was cracking.
I looked over at Joshua who looked like he was on the verge of tears. I hung my head having to remind myself that there were others who cared for Anya just as much as I do.
"Thanks.. and I'll take up on your offer if you don't mind." I said and Joshua's face lit up.
"Anything, what can I do for you bro?" Jousha asked with a smile.
"I don't know when but could you watch the gym for me when I leave town?" I asked Joshua who was shaking his head up and down.
"Yeah sure I can do that." He said happily, "but if you don't mind me asking where are you planning on going?" Joshua asked with curiosity.
"Just to see some family for a while." I lied but it's better then saying the truth. Joshua shook his head with approval.
"Good I think that would do some good for you and your brothers." He said grinning.
"Alright I'll let you get back to murdering that punching bag." Joshua said teasingly as he left the gym and I was left alone with my terrifying thoughts once again.
