Chapter 29 - Jet

I woke up tired, not wanting to get out of bed but I forced myself to crawl out of bed slowly. 'The tea shop is not going to open on it's own,' I thought groaning. I got dressed and went an banged on both of the girls bedroom doors.

After washing my face I went into the kitchen and saw a tea cup sitting on the counter. 'I guess one of the girls are already awake?' I thought to myself but when I looked around, neither one of the girls were there and the tea was cold when I picked it up. I heard one of the girls door shut down the hall, hoping it was Anya but sadly it was Blaze that came around the corner looking like how I feel.

'So I'm guessing this is Anya's but where is she?' I put the cup down and for some reason a bad feeling swept through me making my whole body tense up.

"Hey Blaze can you go check on Anya for me?" I asked my sister who was sniffing the tea that I put back on the counter. "Yuck, okay Anya is officially banned from making tea ever again." Blaze said wrinkling her nose in disgust.

"Blaze please go check on Anya! I would but you know she doesn't like it when I barge into her room." I said getting annoyed with my sister who is moving half ass.

"Ok ok calm down, I'm going now." Blaze said rolling her eyes. I hope I'm just being paranoid but something tells me I'm not. Blaze came running back into the kitchen after a few minutes in a panic.

"She not in her room, but maybe she went to the bath house." Blaze said trying to stay calm when she went to the storage room in a hurry. I heard her rustling in the back and my feet were frozen in place. The door slammed shut hard making me flinch.

"Jet all the bath house supplies are still in the storage room and all if her stuff is still in her room." Blaze said freaking out. I could feel the blood drain from my face and it felt like something massive hit me hard, knocking the air out of me.

"He got her," I whispered mournfully. 'I should have made her stay in my room but she insisted that she could take care of herself.' I felt weak in my knees, I had to lean my hand against the wall to support myself.

Blaze sank to her knees silently crying covering her head with her trembling hands. 'She must know by now that Anya has been abducted by the Emperor and everyone knows, those who go into the palace unwillingly never walk out of that place alive.'

"I have to get her back." I whispered not realizing I spoke out loud. Blaze's head jerked toward me fast, "Are you crazy! You will die if you so much as step foot near that place!" Blaze's voice cracked and fresh tears starting falling out.

"How soon can we leave?" Blaze asked me wiping the tears away from her face standing up. I thought I heard her wrong but when I looked into her eyes their was nothing but determination in them, I realized then that I did not miss hear her.

"You just said it yourself if anyone so much as try to set foot near that place, they're goners. Your crazy if you so much as think I'm going to let you go there with me," I told Blaze snarling.

"Say whatever you want I'm going, so stop arguing with me and let's go see Anya before she gets herself killed for insulting the Emperor." Blaze said jokingly but we both know, Anya is mouthy. It wouldn't surprise me if she really got in trouble for doing something like that.

I sighed, "fine do as you please." I said agitated, theirs know sense on arguing with her. She will follow me and do whatever she wants anyways.

"We have to assume we wont see Anya for a while but I seriously doubt the Emperor would go through all this trouble just to kill her. So for now we are just going to assume she will be okay until we can get her back." I told Blaze who was actually listening to me for once but she was silent for a while before she answered.

"I don't like that we are just assuming she is going to be okay but I understand." Blaze said looking off into the distance.

"Let's just get Anya back as fast as we can." I said trying to figure out how we are going to do this without getting us all killed.

"Maybe...", Blaze choked on her words and fresh tears were pouring out of her eyes. "Maybe we wont have to take Anya back." Blaze whispered, which made me jerk my head glaring at her. "Why would you say somethong like that." I said trying not to raise my voice at her.

"Look I want Anya back just as much as you do but let's face it Jet. Even if we get Anya back we will forever be on the run. We will have to abandon our tea shop, our home, and we will be an enemy in our Emperors eyes." Blaze paused looking down at the floor.

"Anya wouldn't want that for us, you know that." She folded her arms around her self not wiping the tears off her face as she hiccupped.

"I want to make sure she is okay. If he is hurting her in anyway I wont hesitate to take her and run with you but for all we know she will be treated like royalty." Blaze said looking at me trying to get me to understand her point of view.

I don't want to admit it but Blaze is right. The thought of just leaving her there though. I punched the wall with my fist.

"Damn it!" I leaned my forehead against the wall closing my eyes trying to clam myself. "Your right... first let's just make sure she is safe. Then we will decide our next move after that." I said to Blaze trying to hide my emotions but I failed miserably. "We are not opening the tea shop today or tomorrow... I'll be in my room if you need me." I said weakly leaving Blaze crying in the kitchen alone.
