"Can we please take a break Ace. We have been walking for hours and I don't know about you but if we run into another weird creature that looks like it can bit our heads off I'm going to die of a heart attack." Dimitri said complaining with every step we took.
"I agree with taking a break but your such a pussy Dimitri, your the one with the gun. You should feel safer then the rest of us." Quinn said dragging his feet wiping the sweat away from his forehead.
"If you two were paying attention you would have noticed by now that the forest is thinning out and we are seeing less animals." I said still walking with plenty of energy to spare.
"Ace your super human okay. Your practically made out of steel but me and Quinn are dying back here." Dimitri said huffing and puffing.
I grunted in frustration, "fine five minutes that's all you two get." I said seating down in the middle of the dirt road irritated.
"Thank goodness." Dimitri said sinking to his knees and Quinn followed suit laying down on his back.
"I promise I'll never tease Anya again. I always thought she was over exaggerating about all the things she said you made her do but I believe her now." Dimitri said sucking down the water in his water bottle.
"Try to save as much water as you can. We don't know if we can drink the water here." Quinn said still breathing heavily.
"You know when we get back home with Anya I'm going to make you two start working out with us. You two are out of shape and your slowing me down from finding Anya." I said firmly really to start moving again when I heard someone humming from a distances.
I jerked my head to where the sound was coming from when a small girl with long red hair stopped dead in her tracks when she spotted us.
She was pulling and over size wagon that looked like it was going to fall apart at any moment.
She tilted her head to the side staring when her eyes widen with tears forming at the corner of her eyes.
"You finally came." She said sobbing breaking into a faint smile. I jumped to my feet hiding my brothers behind my back.
"Who are you?" I asked a little harsher then I meant. She tensed up taking a few steps back with fear in her eyes.
'Shit I scared her.' I cleared my throat and tried again in a more gentle manner. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you. Can you please tell me who you are?" I asked again more softer. Dimitri walked past me walking straight to her. "I can handle this." He said with confidence ignoring the disapproval look I gave him.
"Hello my name is Dimitri. Ignore the big scary guy behind me. He's always like that but he wont hurt you, I promise." He said stopping in front of her giving her one of his so called charming smiles. I rolled my eyes watching the tension slowly leave her shoulders.
"So what's your name? I bet it's something beautiful that goes with that beautiful face of yours." Dimitri said seductively picking up her hand kissing the top of it making her face turn red as her hair.
"B-b." She shook her head blushing like crazy. "M-my name is B-blaze." She said nervously looking away from Dimitri's face.
"Your Anya's brothers. She will be so happy to know you are finally here." She said shyly making my head jerk up fast when she said Anya's name. I started walking taking big strides without realizing it until I was in front of her.
"Anya's here?" I growled pushing Dimitri out of the way. "Can you please take us to her." I asked putting my hands on to the side of her arms practically shaking her as I towered over her. Her eyes filled with terror and I could feel her body trembling in fear.
"Your scaring her Ace, back off." Dimitri yelled pushing me away from her when she shook her head.
"No it's okay, come with me." She said turning her back on us but I could have sworn I hear a hint of grief in her voice.
"How do you know we are Anya's brothers?" Quinn asked looking at Blaze with suspicion. She went to pick up the handles on the wagon that had a few baskets of leaves and odd vegetables in them.
"Let me take that." I said taking the handles from her. "Thank you." She said bowing her head then started walking in front of us.
"Anya use to go on and on about you three. She would show us drawing and tell us stories about you all. That's why I recognize you when I say you guys. She kept telling me and my brother that you would come for her. . . I just wish you guys came a little sooner." She whispered painfully.
My body stiffened and I stopped dead in my tracks. 'She use to.' I kept repeating her words over and over again in my head. I could feel the blood drain from my face and my heart felt like it was going to hammer out of my chest.
"Please don't tell me she's. . she's." I couldn't even finish my sentence I felt so sick to my stomach.
"Oh no she not dead! I so sorry I didn't mean for it so sound like that." Blaze said looking at me apologetically.
At the corner of my eye I could see Quinn and Dimitri let out a sigh of relief as well. "I'll tell you guys everything when we get to my tea shop. My brother is going to be happy to see you guys." She said happily walking faster making us pick up our speed as well.
Quinn came to my side and whispered, "we don't know her. What if it's some kind of trap?" Quinn said with worry.
"I understand where your coming from but for now we will follow her and if she does anything out of the ordinary. . I'll handle it." I said ferociously glaring at her back.
I will not let anyone get in my way from finding my sister. I could see her body tense up like she could sense the cold gaze I was giving her.
Part of me is relieved knowing Anya might be here and the other part of me is ready to shred anything in my path if this woman is lying to us.
All I can say is she better be telling the truth or I'll make sure she regrets it.
