Henry swirled the Earl Grey tea in his cup with a warm smile as he watched Ellie.  She was unaware of how she looked. It had almost been a month since Dr. Wu had taken her in for surgery.  Together they were sitting on the garden and having a nice brunch. He should be at work, but something had kept him back. Ellie looked like she had never been bedridden for months beforehand. Instead of the underarm crutches that she had favored for so long, she just had a straight cane that she had near her, but rarely touched.  It was always though, Henry had noted, kept in reach by staff rotating around her. He had kept a close eye on her progress reports, even though he made a point of not seeing her every day. This was a woman who would be leaving soon, but still it gave him immense pleasure to see her weight and endurance climbing closer to normal.  He couldn't wait for her to be independent again -- she deserved that more than anyone he knew.
