Henry felt uncomfortable so he couldn't meet her eyes.  It was almost effortless the way she loved her parents. He had always struggled with the same thing.  Henry couldn't even fathom how it would have been nice to have his parents around who cared about his interests or even how he was doing.  He couldn't even remember the last time when he had eaten dinner as a family with both of his parents on the dinner table. He was always alone with Michael and occasionally Michael's family.  Henry had been young enough to wonder why their were so many chairs at the table day after day.

While she had been talking, Ellie could see that Henry's expression was strange.  She wanted to ask him what was on his mind. But he spoke before she could formulate an appropriate question.  "If you do feel more British than American, do you really prefer tea to coffee?"
