Volume 4 Chapter 26.2

(3rd person POV)

On Earth.

"We just found it." A kid said to a woman holding some sort of a gadget.

"Can you show us?"

The woman's name is Jane Foster. She's the woman who was with Thor when he was banished to Earth; in New Mexico, exactly. Along with Jane, her acquaintance Darcy and an intern named Ian also came. The three of them followed the signal on the scientific gadget held by Jane, which led them into an old factory somewhere in London. Inside the old factory, they met three kids.

The three kids led Jane, Darcy and Ian to a truck. One of the boys touches the truck and pushed it up with two fingers, and they watched in amazement as the truck floats in mid-air.

"That doesn't seem rigged." Darcy said.

After that, the kids then took them to a stairwell in the factory. A kid picked up a bottle and dropped it down. Again, they watched as the bottle magically disappeared into thin air.

"Where did it go?" Darcy asked one of the kids.

The girl pointed her finger up, and they looked up to see the bottle reappear above them and continuously fall and disappear in the same spots in the air. It's a never-ending loop.

"That's... that's incredible."

Jane picked up an empty can and dropped it down. It does the same thing; it disappears into thin air, but when they looked up to watch, it didn't reappear.

"What happened?"

"Sometimes they come back, sometimes they don't." The little girl said.

"I want to throw something. Jane, give me your shoe."

Jane ignored Darcy as she picked up her scientific gadget to look at the readings. "I haven't seen readings like this since..."

"New Mexico?"

Jane gave Darcy a meaningful look before rushing off. "Don't touch anything!"

Jane walked away from the others and watched them on the stairwell dropping objects down and watching them disappear and reappear. She looked at her gadget and saw the anomaly is nearby and started walking off.

She followed the readings on her gadget which took her to another part of the factory. As the readings got stronger, a gust of wind pushed her forward and she found herself teleported in an unknown place.

"Darcy!" Jane cried out.

She observed the place and found a pillar emitting a red light. As Jane reaches her hand to touch the pillar in curiosity, a blood-like substance suddenly entered her body. Jane gasped in terror. She didn't notice her eyes becoming blood red as she passed out.

Somewhere in space.

Inside an unknown space ship.

"The Aether awakens us. The Convergence returns."

-----

Vanaheim. It is a realm of flora and fauna. The realm is filled with vast forests, fields, and planes. It was also filled with the ruins of mountain-sized castles and citadels, known as the 'ruins of Vanaheim' or as the 'abandoned city of the Vanir'.

It was supposed to be a peaceful realm.

However, right now, chaos swallowed the place. The wooden huts are burning; the people of Vanaheim screaming as they ran for their lives. A man who looks like a farmer gripped a farming tool as he stood in front of his family, a woman in her forties and a child in her teens.

"S-Stand back. I will protect both of you…!" The man said. Even when his voice is quivering and his legs are shaking, he still bravely stood in his place, protecting the ones he loved.

Meters away from him, several figures waving scary-looking weapons slowly approached. Most of them are not humans. Some have pointed or ram-shaped horns; several of them with shark-like teeth, violet or red skin, and the most noticeable red eyes.

They are the Marauders, a kind of faction who threatens the peace in the nine realms. The Marauders laughed menacingly as they flash a wolf-like gaze at the woman behind the man.

This scene is happening almost everywhere in this small tribe.

Although the odds are against them, the people of Vanaheim still fought, fueled with their hopes to protect their people. Strictly speaking, no matter how much they resisted, they would still lose. They have been exposed to a peaceful environment for a long time that they ignored wars and conflict preparation. They always relied on the mighty and trustworthy army of Asgard to protect them, after all.

"Chief, we cannot hold on much longer! They're slaughtering us!" A rather young man holding a makeshift shield and a crude sword shouted towards an old man.

"Is there still no response from Asgard?!" The old man hailed as 'Chief' shouted back.

"No, nothing…!" The young man blocked a sword strike from a Marauder and pushed the Marauder back. He then slashed his sword several times before the Marauder finally died. The young man turned to their tribe Chief once more. "Chief, what do we do?"

"They will come. Let us believe they will." The Chief solemnly said.

"And if they don't?"

"Then on behalf of Odin's beard, we fight!"

With the Chief's instructions, the tribe formed a defensive circle in one corner of their tribe to protect the women and the children. Against the Marauders' savage and cruel actions, it's the least that they could do.

However…

Despite their bitter struggle, the Marauders who were accustomed to conflict still prevailed. They mowed down the farmers like wheat crops, and the people of Vanaheim were pushed back. Despair slowly crept up to their hearts, losing their hope of surviving this tragedy.

Just as when the protective circle they created was about to be breached, a blinding light coming from the heavens struck the ground. Its force equaled a train traveling at the speed of 300mph suddenly crashing onto a house. The surrounding Marauders were blown away by the shockwave.

As all eyes gathered on that light, several figures donned in golden armors charged towards the Marauders.

"For Asgard!" A voice of a woman cried out loud.

""FOR ASGAAAAARD!!"" The army of Einherjar who appeared just in time followed her war cry as they engaged against the Marauders.

The entirely helpless situation of the people of Vanaheim took a 180-degree turn with the emergence of the army of Einherjar led by Lady Sif.

"Stay close. Watch your back. Do not go far away from me." Sif said to Karla, who looks so eager to try what she learned from Sif.

Karla nodded and flew off.

It has been a few days since they started purging the chaos in the nine realms, and Vanaheim is the last realm that they were supposed to clean out. There are many tribes here that are in need of their reinforcement, and this is their first one. As soon as they finish this, they would need to travel to another tribe again until the Marauders are all captured.

Sif watched as the little girl take on several Marauders at the same time. It was a feat that is even difficult for an experienced Einherjar to achieve. Sif sighed and wondered who dare create this kind of monster. She shook her head of these useless thoughts and fought the Marauders as well, helping the army of Einherjar drive them off. This time, their main objective is to capture as many Marauders as possible to finally put an end to their faction.
