Stalemate
I was taken advantage of. All I wanted was your love.
Yet you shoved me aside. You hurt me and lied
Stole my kingdom, my wealth and tarnished my name
And still point the blame on me.
Are you satisfied? That I tried to make you smile,
That I would do anything I could so you could feel worthwhile.
I shared all that I had, yet you sought to steal
you claimed me traitor for all to hear And I don't
know if it was by persuasion or fear,
but my kept their distance As you
demanded that beg for forgiveness for existence.
You stepped on my bones to bring you up to a higher ground
and left me bound on the floor while you were crowned.
We've grown up past the childish play,
willing to hurt any who stand in your way.
Do you think this is some sort of game?
That my kingdom is yours to claim?
I left
I tried to stay,
But you only got worse
You coerced all my friends to be your pawns
To sing your songs and to play your verse.
I told you already, I don't want to play,
So I left
And it hurt, I'll admit it's true
At the time I was so scared of losing you,
More than your harsh words and neglect;
But a tyrant queen gone unchecked
Who sacrifices her subjects to take her fall
Should not rule a kingdom
at all.
I've removed myself from the playing field,
And all this power you thought
you would wield-
Is gone.
Because what you do is wrong, You're not happy. Nor will you ever be,
because you choose to forever hate and hurt And all have learned to leave you because it was them you deserted.
So in a way I won, though I wish it were a tie.
You choose where you are, you choose where you lied.
Your own spite was your demise.
I wish you could have chosen to be happy.
Because that was all I ever wanted.
