Prologue

Its interesting how the world has progressed. From the the dark ages to the information era, the biggest driving force for change and the progress has been war. Whether for increasing the domain of a nation or for the acquisition of resources, war has been the decider of who won and who lost. Even as the the humanity continued to progress and grow, war still existed. After a time, it changed from the acquisition of resources to the battle over ideals and philosophy. In the end it all boils down to who was superior and who was inferior. One might argue that equality was achieved as time moved on but is that truly the case when individuals are still classed one way or the other.

The information age has come and gone, leaving the world at large more conscious of the amount of resources available world wide. The wide spread of news and information made people very aware of the fragility of the human life and the atrocities that individuals and groups could perform. An increase in automation and efficiency left the people who failed to access education or dropped out without a means of earning above the poverty line. New prejudice were formed and some old ones were aggravated.

The thirst for more though had not been quenched, but as the dealing of death and destruction to acquire what one wanted was no more acceptable by the general public, new avenues to determine such needed to be created. Major powers of the world agreed to a truce in both political and military fields and came together to come up with a way to fight it out for prestige, resources, and overall superiority without the general public rebelling against them and causing a riot.

In the end the war moved from the physical plane to the virtual, it was not eradicated. It only changed its face.
