UEN Infinite Stratus - Esitio System - Bridge
"Captain incoming transmission" Fujiko reported "putting it through"
"Attention Esitio Dock master AI, This is the Heavenly Travels, I am responding to your earlier distress call, we will be in planetary range shortly"
"Crap" Captain Ramoor slammed her fist into her arm rest
"The alien object is turning to face the civilian ships" Wellend barked "it's opening fire on the civilians"
"Emergency flack, drop stealth protocols, Intercept those projectiles, aim the guns"
"Yes Ma'am" the Bridge crew sprung to life, issuing orders around the ship
"Answering emergency flack" Farcomb reported
The captain drew on her tablet "follow this pattern, and fire the guns like this" she pushed the drawing to the bridge stations
Koari looked at the drawing "the Ramoor drift" she commented on the manoeuvre there
The Captain hid a smile even as the bridge crew chuckled at the comment, she didn't care what they called it, as long as -
"Captain reactors are redlining" Pails interrupted the Captains thoughts "recommendation are to reduce the load by slowing or powering down the MAC guns"
"Understood, continue as planned"
"Impact in 5" reported Koari
"Firing Plasma turrets" said Wellend
"Commencing drift, cutting main engines" commented Farcomb
"Impact, Shields holding" Koari updated
"Thrusters responding" Farcomb continued "And turn"
"Main and MAC guns firing in 10" Wellend said a smile growing on her face "Brace for recoil"
CIV Heavenly Travels - Esitio System - Bridge
"Jump complete" The first officer said "looks like us and the cargo haulers all made it"
"Lets offer our help then" the Captain replied reaching for the radio set
"Attention Esitio Dock master AI, This is the Heavenly Travels, I am responding to your earlier distress call, we will be in planetary range shortly"
"What the hell is that!" The Helmsman pointed out of a view screen as it magnified the alien ship "it's firing, at us"
Everyone on the bridge of the Heavenly Travels panicked the Helmsman started crying, sobbing "I don't want to die" over and over when the view of the alien ship disappeared behind a black object,
As the enemy ships fire landed on the ship it's skin glowed a brilliant green-yellow colour
"Is that chemical based shielding?" the Captain said "I knew the navy was working on it, I didn't think they'd succeed"
The Captain has been obsessed with the Navy, even to the point of calling some of his crew by naval terms, he said he was an "ol' sea dog" whatever that means
The Black object turned and the sun reflected perfectly of the ships 2 tri barrel guns turrets on the top, as the ship continued to turn it faced the enemy ship, the plasma turrets now visible along the side of the ship their shots still traveling through space, Torpedoes closely behind
"Gods above" breathed the first officer, "I didn't even know that was there"
Flashes of light emitting from the ends of the 6 barrels as slugs from all 6 turrets closed the distance between the Infinite Stratus and the hostile alien ship
The plasma struck the aliens shields flaring then a hot whitish-green colour followed by 20 torpedoes, they slammed into the already weakened shields bringing them down just as the 6 slugs from the main guns as well as the 2 shots from the twin MAC arrived at the point where the shields should have been
The rounds flew past uncontested and smashed their way through the hull of the ship, bits of torn and buckled hull plating showered off the alien ship propelled by the venting atmosphere.
UEN Infinite Stratus - Esitio System - Bridge
"Good drift" captain Ramoor commented "giv it max burn and empty the MAC's"
The ship burped 2 more times as the final 2 MAC rounds closed the distance,
Silver shimmering snapped into place just as the MAC rounds reached the ship, they rebounded harmlessly away from the alien ship
"Thats a miss for us" Koari observed " but there shields are down again"
"We are still reloading" reported Wellend "it will take too long"
"Thats fine" Captain Ramoor said, eyes focused and a near invisible dot on the screen slowly drifting towards the alien ship
The alien ships shields stuttered and snapped back to life rapidly growing stronger but not before the small stealthed object bumped the hull of the ship, a small arm locking it into place
"You're shields are your downfall" Captain Ramoor muttered entering a pin into her side console "don't mess with the UEN" and she pressed enter
A small sun appeared attached to the hull of the alien ship. Bounced of the silvery barrier and smeared the hull in it's deadly light, melting hull plates like microwaved butter
The small sun grew brighter and brighter then suddenly expanded in all directions in a massive burst as the reactor of the alien ship exploded and shredded the half melted shield generator
"Th-Th-That was a nuke!" Stuttered Fujiko eyes wide
"Brilliant sight" Wellend saidwith a smile and glint in her eyes, might need to keep an eye on her.
"Captain, molten debris heading for the lifeboats" Koari said
"Launch all recovery teams" the Captain ordered "we are switching from combat operations to recover and rescue, bring all lifeboats in immediate danger on board, let the civilians handle the rest"
"Yes ma'am" the bridge officers said in unison jumping to their seperate tasks
The bridge lights brightened as the Captain thumbed through the after action report the computer generated for her
"what a day" Ramoor huffed "let me know when all boats are recovered" and she nodded off day dreaming
