While the adults live through their drama, Peter has his own troubles.
"Teacher Helen, why do people marry?", Leon asks. His parents are married, but right now there seems to be a lot of trouble at his home. His father is also away.
"Oh, I know." Emma cuts in. "When you love someone and want to be together for the rest of your life." To everyones surprise she suddenly grabs hold of Peter "That is why I will marry Peter."
"Why?" Peter says, incredulous. "I don't want to marry you. My wife should know how to cook. Can you cook, like my mother?"
"No, why should I know that? At home, my father cooks!", Emma says incredulous.
"Then that won't do. I will marry Leon. His family owns a restaurant. Cooking will come to him naturally."
"What?" Emma stomps on the ground. "But you are both guys. That won't do!"
"Why? You said you marry the person you love. And I love Leon."
"That is different. Friendship and love are different. You can only love a woman!"
"Why?"
Thankfully, at this point Ms. Helen called everyone for lunch. Emma was glad. She did not really have an answer.
