"So… my sister is even more of a genius than I originally thought?" He mumbled to himself.
"It appears to be the case, master. Her numbers show even more promise than you."
Ling Yun was left speechless. Que quickly asked Anne to explain herself better.
"The rating of a physique can rise for a number of factors, including but not limited to evolutions between sanctuaries, certain body tempering techniques, and treasures that can purify the body. The average for a person entering the First God's Sanctuary is that of a one-star physique. The higher the rating, the more energy could be absorbed from geno points and the body would get stronger with each one, although slightly. Your physique before entering the sanctuary was a three star one, but that is because of the training you had done. Before that, it was a two-star one." She mercilessly replied.
"As for the energy efficiency, it determines how quickly can a person learn new martial arts and how effectively they use them. For example, a person with a two-star energy efficiency could execute a move twice before becoming exhausted, while a person with a nine-star rate could do it for five times. The difference only gets larger as the cultivator advances and more energy becomes available. This number very rarely goes up, and the average is that of three stars. Your energy efficiency is currently sitting at seven stars as well, but it originally was at six stars." She answered.
"Huh? Then why did my rate go up? I thought you said it was almost impossible to upgrade the energy efficiency." He asked, genuinely curious.
"It is because of the black crystal. As stated before, its main function is aiding in the gene purification of organisms. It is constantly and passively purifying you, so your physique rate and energy efficiency rate will only go up with time."
"Well, that's a very welcome surprise…" Ling Yun answered quite happily. He was thinking of all the cool stuff he would be able to do once he reached nine stars on both his physique and energy efficiency rate, but he remembered the original purpose of the crystals shortly after.
"Anne, based on the results, which cultivation technique in the store is the best option for Rou'er to learn?" He asked quickly. Why bother reading each one when you could ask the system itself?
"The cultivation technique more suited towards a person with these results would be the "Blazing Thunder Scripture." It too has a preparational stage, but this one consists of five stages. In order, they are the blaze tempering stage, thunder tempering stage, blaze release stage, thunder release stage, and blazing thunder release stage. The first two stages would make the body stronger, nimbler, and faster. The next three stages focus on recreating said energy internally and releasing it into another body by contact. The blaze energy would cause damage, the thunder energy would cause numbness or even paralysis, while the blazing thunder energy amplifies the effects of both the blaze and thunder energy exponentially by combining them. It has a total of ten levels after the preparational stage." She replied.
"Well, that's a pretty dope technique…" Ling Yun answered a little depressed. While it was of a lower standard of any of his three scriptures, it was very focused towards offensive power. Offensive power which he would lack until he started opening gene locks, and his sister would have from the get-go. "Life is so unfair…" He really felt like crying.
"Well, enough about that. Anne, do you have the notes, diagrams, and all the other relevant information for the Wakandan Shield?" He asked with a shit eating grin.
Wakandan Shield was a hyper geno art he started developing about a year prior. It was heavily based on two defence techniques in the system, they were called defensive pocket and metalification.
Defence pocket worked in creating an energy-based very thin layer just over the skin. This layer, when met with external force, would adjust its shape in order to deflect and absorb most of the force it received. Metalification on the other hand was pretty straightforward. It could turn any part of your body into metal, boosting its defensive and offensive capabilities.
The way Wakandan Shield worked was heavily influenced by vibranium, a fictional metal from his previous life. What made it impressive, was that the material absorbed vibrations. So, when a person uses Wakandan Shield, they could choose a part of their bodies that could temporarily transform into a material very similar to vibranium. It would absorb the vibrations from any attack, rendering most forces useless. Also, as it was a metal way tougher and lighter than steel, the remaining damage that wasn't absorbed would be even further defended against by it meeting with the natural toughness of the metal. There were several similar techniques on the Saint Hall, but none of them as effective as Wakandan Shield. Since it had two layers of defence, Ling Yun was comfortable with it.
"Yes, master. Everything is already compiled and ready for the operation. Are you sure you have finished the technique?" Anne asked.
"Yes. I mean, I will eventually upgrade it. Using it to permanently transform a section of the body into vibranium until deactivated and later for the entire body, but yes; Wakandan Shield is finished as it is." He nodded.
"Very well, master."
{Hidden Requirement activated: Develop a Hyper Geno Art. Technique grade: B. Rewards: 1,000,000 points, one universal technique voucher.} The system sent a notification.
"Anne, do I get rewards every time I develop a hyper geno art?" He asked.
"That is correct. Although you only gain a voucher each time you develop a technique that the system doesn't currently have in the store." She answered.
"Well, anyway, a million points is a nice boon." He said and opened the inventory. Sure enough, there were four universal technique vouchers now. "Well, as exciting as this is, I need to sleep. Begin the operation, you know which one." He said.
"Very well, master."
Silence permeated the room from then.
'Soon, another one of my goals will be achieved, hopefully.' He then went to sleep.
Two days later, Li Singhua was starting to get tired of all the malfunctions his comlink and computer were suffering. They would stop receiving commands other than the ones redirecting him to his e-mail. And messages indicating him to open specific mail were appearing at the most inopportune of times.
At first he heeded the advice, but when he found out it was just another researcher wannabe he ignored completely. He was one of the best respected researcher of Saint Hall, of course a lot of people were sending him stuff in order to get a job, or even just to get in his good graces,
But eventually he got tired of everything and decided to just read that damn mail. If he could reject the person who sent it with two or three sentences, it might be best. After all, he couldn't just say it was ineffective without reading it first. That was not the wat of the scholar.
Attached to the email were a lot of documents, but the body was text meant obviously for him.
"Hello, Mr. Singhua, I hope you get to red this. I have taken an interest in research and development of Hyper Geno Arts for a few years now. I do realize it is ordinarily a short amount of time for a person to do anything of significance, but I believe the one I am currently working at is up to standard. Attached are all the details and even some protein chains and formulas for the geno solution. I have close to no resources in order to develop it, so the chemical part is completely theoretical. I have tried the technique itself, and a video is too attached in the files. I hope you could take your time to review it and, if possible, make some observations I could work upon. Thank you."
"This little bastard. Even though they pretty much forced me to read he acts all polite and stuff. And two years? HAH! Two years isn't even enough to grasp the basics. And he developed a technique enough to be usable and formulas, even if theoretical, in that time only? As if." He mumbled, but still opened the attached documents in order to give one or two pointers.
Still, he expected the whole thing to be not just terrible, but completely deficient.
But, as more and more pages went on, his eyes started to steel, and his expression became even more solemn. At some point he started to take serious notes and treating this like a completely professional work he was just reviewing in order to be approved.
The concept was simple enough, though revolutionary. A single technique that strengthens the body to the point it becomes three times tougher than steel wasn't exactly unheard of, and it could easily be placed as a B class hyper geno art if it was effective. The amazing part was that said metal could also absorb vibrations.
And what exactly caused damage to the human body once met with force? Vibrations!
Even all fire did was to accelerate the vibrations between molecules, which caused the burning effect. If this thing could really do what it was supposed to, it would easily be an A class technique, possibly even S class!
Having reviewed almost anything but the chemistry part, and admitting it was a very professional work on pair with most of the researchers in Saint Hall, he moved to the formulas.
At first glance he could see they wouldn't work, but the mistakes were hard to find and marginal, at best. It would only take a few runs in the lab to correct them. And if this was indeed a work made by someone without access to a lab, it was amazing that they could do this with just theory alone.
He could see that this was an amateur work. While it was well organized, no organization would ever present the document in this order. The notes and observations also lacked the formal style, but they were on point.
All in all, this definitely was the work of an undiscovered genius. He was so happy at this discovery that forgot how annoying the last few days had been for him. He now only had one thought left on his mind.
"I must get him on my team at once!"
