Arc 1.10

June has been busy the month to improve Draco. He made him invest and bring his public view on him to raise drastically. He forced Draco to do charity and even personally hand out food to an area that was suffering famine. He also made him go take down corrupt officials and bring justice.

Everyone entered the main hall the emperor on his throne looked at all of them.

"I have come to my decision the next Emperor will be Draco! He will have his coronation next week!" The Emperor announces June sighs in relief, he didn't fail Nicolás!

"Emperor why him? He doesn't even have a lot of backers!" Argues the eldest of all the grandsons.

"His backer is the people! That's all he needs and he has General June on his side. The people have spoken and they want Draco as the next Emperor!" Emperor retorts he is old and he has done many things he regrets now. He failed his country he was too headstrong and his empire on the verge of the collapse. He wanted to make up his mistake by choosing someone who thinks of the people instead of themselves.

"Since when do you care about the people" mumbles the eldest. The Emperor first clenched he knows that he knows he failed them.

"General June your friends with General Nicolás right?" Asks the Emperor curiously looking at June. June looks up in shock but nods not hiding it as the people know that already.

"When Draco takes the throne I want you to start a peace treaty. This will be my last order as the Emperor!" Orders the Emperor regret all in his eyes.

"Understood I will contact General Nicolás with it I assume you want an equal treaty no one gains more than the other?" June asks with a smile forming on his lips.

"hmm, we want to be in peace!" The emperor agrees June's smile widens looks like he can maintain peace. There is no way for Draco to go back on his word now.

"Emperor Lance you called for me?" Asks Nicolás as enter the throne room.

"hmm how is the peace treaty going?" Asks Lance, Nicolás smiles brightly. Which blinds everyone in the room.

"It's going great General June contacted me already! In a week we will meet to sort things out! Of course, it's agreed that the terms will be equal and no one will get more than the other!" Nicolás cheerfully answers. His heartfelt peace the tranquil smile on Nicolás made Emperor Lance's heart beat faster.

"We will finally have peace with our neighbors and we'll able to fend off those outsiders threatening us" Emperor Lance states proudly.

"Agreed with General June and me in the front of the battle we won't lose any battle!" Nicolás coldly says with murderous glint join his eyes. The Emperor got shivers he tends to forget that Nicolás is a cold soldier capable of killing thousands.

"I will be getting ready for the big war that is upcoming I will bring honor to you, Emperor! None of those who threaten our home will live!" Nicolás declares loudly.

"I trust you General Nicolás" Emperor Lance states he looks at Nicolás who bows.

"Emperor Lance about Luciana she has been working with Monero this commoner let her go to see what she would do. She met up with a spy who comes from Monero. This lowly commoner apologizes for using your name when this commoner let her go. This commoner told her that you ordered me to let her go" Nicolás explains. Lance nods in understanding not caring that Nicolás did that.

"This was to give her a bit of confidence right? When they are more confident the more mistakes are made" Emperor Lance concludes.

"Yes I need her to make mistakes so we can learn more of Monero plans of attack" Nicolás explains softly.

"Alright understood you can go now General Nicolás" Lance dismisses Nicolás. Nicolás leaves the room and heads to his home. Lance smiles when Nicolás leaves he is glad that he has such a reliable friend. He knows that he likes him more than a friend but he cannot as he is the Emperor he did not want to break Nicolás heart by taking any concubine. It's known the Montes are possessive of their partners and never marry more than one person. If a Montes falls in love they are devoted to that one person even when the other dies. They are loyal to their country they are loyal to their lover. It's not like he wouldn't accept just marrying Nicolás but being an Emperor you have to marry princesses from other countries for peace treaties. Also marrying the daughter of high up families to keep them from fighting. They say the Emperor has a lot of freedom but honestly, they sacrifice a lot as well.

Nicolás looks at his soldiers practicing he joins them in practice he needs to keep his body well trained. One of his spies appears next to him and whispers in his ears.

"Go tell this to General June! Tell him to start preparing!" Nicolás panics a bit but he calms himself a bit.
