Reid POV

I look at my partner Martell. At first, he didn't want to come out. Fearing that his
partner wouldn't like him. Everyone calls him gloomy and terrifying. He didn't want to scare them off.
"Jasiel!" Martell runs to a guy who looks like a scholar. Martell hugs the man who hugs back.
"Hey princey is this your bonded partner," Jasiel asks his voice run chills through my body.
"Yep! Jasiel this is Reid! Reid this is Jasiel my best friend. Where is the bastard Vulir?" Martell introduces us to each other. Jasiel gives me a small nod and I return it.
"Vulir will be here soon," Jasiel says his voice soften by the mention of Vulir.
"Jasiel you should have waited for me!" A man shouts who I suspect is Vulir.
"Martell" the man states coldly glaring at Martell.
"Vulir" Martell responds even colder.
"You two stop being childish. Vulir this is Martell bonded partner Reid" Jasiel intervenes between the two. Vulir looks at him and his eyes light up.
"Thank you for being here please keep him! He always intervenes with my private time with Jasiel" Vulir says to me gleefully.
"Jasiel is too good for you! You cranky asshole! Im just watching over my best friend" Martell states. I couldn't help but laugh at their relationship.
"You guys are good friends huh," I say softly. Jasiel turns to me and nods.
"They are good friends even when they fight like this" Jasiel chuckles.
"WE ARE NOT FRIENDS" the two shout in sync.

In the front line Third Person POV

"You four will be stationed over there with captain Miles"
"Understood" the four answer and head to where they were stationed.
"We are near the frontlines" Jasiel whispers softly. Vulir puts his hand on Jasiel back.
"Hmm, we will kill them and get you back to teaching in no time!" Vulir states determinedly. Jasiel looks at Vulir who is smiling at him. He blinked once more before a smile formed.
"Yeah" Jasiel responds content but that soon falls once he sees the heroine. The heroine always brings trouble even if she is all the way in the back. Elara will probably do something stupid.
"What's wrong Jasiel" Vulir questions concerned when he deed Jasiel smile fall.
"It's nothing Vulir just some heavy thoughts" Jasiel responds. Vulir just hugs Jasiel in worry thinking that Jasiel was thinking about his dead students. Jasiel reluctantly hugs back.
"I'm ok" Jasiel lets out quietly.
"Don't worry Jasiel I'll always be by your side to protect you" Vulir states with a determined look.
"I know" Jasiel answers.
"Get ready a wave of monsters are coming. Students will only fight if they get past us" Captain Miles states. Captain Miles leads his soldiers to battle. They were told to stay in the back of those frontline soldiers but if one is to fall they were the replacements with the reserve soldiers left here. The last ones to enter would be the students in the back.
Jasiel watches as Captain Miles fights the giant monsters. Some are humanoid looking those are who fell for the dark magic and corrupted that they turn into monsters. The normal monster is formed through animals being corrupted by dark magic. Captain Miles is being boosted by a painest who is being protected. The piano resounding throughout the whole field boosting many people except those with a bonded partner. Everything was going as planned until another wave of monsters came. They passed the front line soldiers.
"It's our turn! Vulir, Reid attack the ones headed right for us. Martell, it's time for us to play" Jasiel orders turning to Vulir, Martell, and Reid. Vulir and Reid head to attack taking out their weapons. Jasiel and Martell take out their instruments and start playing. As the two practice before their music intertwined and a beautiful melody could be heard throughout. The pianist who heard them from afar felt the light magic resonating with her. She smiles brightly and changes the song she played to follow the guitar and the flute.
"This?" Whispers Vulir as he felt the power surge throughout him. He easily sliced through the enemy. He turns to where Jasiel is and smiles. He quickly turns to the enemy and runs around killing any monster who tried to pass him.
"The feeling is amazing" whispers Reid as he swung his ax in amazement. His body even felt lighter and stronger. He is amazed by the difference between a true bonded partner and a random pair.

Captain Miles felt a surge of light magic go into him. He is shocked to feel such a thing as he knows the pianist Lucia who he is bonded with never boosted him this much. Even those who were boosted by Lucia who wasn't bonded had a significant boost. Was it cause of the two new instruments who joined?
"Resonating music can cause such a big difference?" Whispers captain Miles in realization. As he dodges an attack from the enemy. He smiles in pure happiness and fights much more determination. His soldiers also had a newfound confidence and attacked much more aggressively.

Elara POV

"Resonating music this wasn't even discovered until way later" I whisper in shock. How did they do it? It originally took Martell many years to cause it! Why is she being left behind?!?
"Im supposed to be by his side" I cried out softly. Why did Martell not look at her? Why did he leave her? He is supposed to be with me. He supposed to love me! He always said he needed me and now he doesn't want me?
