Crimson Chambers 2 Part 3

Kuuro could not differentiate between his delusions and reality at that point. Inside his mind, he had predefined images of what was to come, but the truth exceeded far beyond his expectations. His mind was dangling on the see-saw of lie and truth, awaiting it's breaking point. The foggy windows could only give him little insight of the situation. It was the frail, naked body of Yu Han, which seemed restrained to the bed, perhaps by chains. His legs were constantly moving about under the heavy body, trying to seek an illusionary freedom.

"Please dad, let... me... go." Kuuro heard a faint voice through the thin glass.

The old man seemed to have no mercy, only lust filled the depths of his eyes. 'You say this everyday, why don't you accept this as the truth? Why have wild hopes? Just give in and enjoy...' His voice trailed off as he dug into Yu Han's neck to imprint his moist, lust marks upon him.

The old man's heavy, bulky body lay on the restless body beneath, which was trying to fight back without giving up. Kuuro wanted to salute at that boy's optimism. 'I want to help him.' He thought to himself. Kuuro moved back and rushed towards the pavement. There, he looked around for something heavy but could not find it. At last, he found a pile of stones near the street light. He looked through the pile and found one that suited his preferences. 'This one looks heavy enough.'

He took out a handkerchief from his pocket and wrapped the stone in it. He spun the makeshift weapon and hurled it at the window, smashing its glass into pieces. The noise startled the people inside and the old man hurried towards the window, walking over the glass pieces and hurting himself. Kuuro stood near the wooden window frame, searching for a lock. The old man was astonished. He picked up his clothes and rushed out of the room, leaving Yu Han behind in that pathetic state.

"Yu Han! I'll come there, wait!" He yelled through the frame, trying to peek at Yu Han.

"Ask Bo Jian... for... the keys." The voice was raspy. His throat seemed exhausted.

Kuuro walked right under the balcony and yelled, 'Bo Jian! Give me the keys!'

Bo Jian came out in the balcony with the bunch of keys, as if he knew what was going to happen. Contrary to his prediction, Bo Jian did not seem angry at all. Rather, a glow of happiness donned his face and Kuuro even noticed a faint smile on his lips. 'This is interesting,' He thought to himself.

Kuuro ran towards the door and unlocked it, breathing a sigh of relief as he stepped inside. He walked towards Yu Han's room and stood by the entrance, trying to figure out what next to do. Yu Han had fallen asleep, just like a baby bird who had found refuge under its mom's warm feathery wings after a day of hard work. Kuuro tip-toed his way into the room and crept upon the bed, making a slight creaking noise, causing Yu Han to toss around. Kuuro glanced at Yu Han's naked body, which was full of crimson scars. His face seemed twisted in pain and there were wrinkles on his forehead.

"I am sorry, Yu Han." Kuuro mumbled and softly patted his head.

Yu Han moved and crawled onto Kuuro's lap, falling asleep once again. The bare skin touching his' made the blood in his veins to rush and his face became red. Sweat began to drip down his temples. But somehow, seeing the boy's face relax and his frown dissappear, Kuuro decided to ignore the blossoming feeling for a while. He took out his jacket and covered his shriveled body. 'This will help you.' He mumbled softly.

At that moment, he heard a crashing sound, which brought him back to reality. It was Bo Jian, and he had tripped near the bed where all clothes lay spread across the floor. Yu Han got up and stared at the commotion, his mind getting flooded back with memories. He clenched Kuuro's shirt and turned his face away. Kuuro noticed his eyes glittering with tears. 'Hey Yu Han, don't cry dude.' He said as he wiped Yu Han's eyes.

"What is there not to cry about? As he said, my world is limited to horrible people who will only harm me!" He yelled in frustration.

Kuuro held Yu Han's shoulder. "Everyone has their own worlds which has it's own problems. Just because people don't look at your world from your perspective, doesn't mean your world is bad. It just needs more acceptance. People like me and Bo Jian will be there in your life to support you."

"Does that mean you will never leave me?" Yu Han's eyes sparked innocence.

"Never. I promise."

However, promises are never made to be fulfilled.
