48. Unraveling Uncertainties Part 4

I looked down to see a glass vase shattered on the ground and the man lying on my bare back, as his blood stained my skin. However, I was unable to push him away as he had passed out without completing his deed.

"I thought I would die." I said as I turned my head away due to embarrassment seeing Bond stare at me. My cheeks glowed crimson red.

That day, my respect for Bond as a person rose upto the level of heavens. His untimely kindness totally made me paralyzed out of immense happiness. My limbs refused to move and I leaned my head on the wall, with tears flowing down my eyes.

"Thank you." I slurred as I tried to hold back my tears.

"Now as soon as I ask you to leave, run out of the room." Bond looked at me intently.

He carefully lifted the man with all the force his little body could manage. Pulling out his private part from my backside was a difficult task as it wasn't stiff anymore. Even so, Bond made sure I wasn't getting hurt. That action seemed disgusting to look at but it was a question of life and death. It seemed like we both had lost our childhood that day.

He handed me some tissues, "Wipe your wounds, and tears too." He said while handing them.

I hastily wiped the wounds and put my clothes back on. He glared at me and suddenly yelled, "leave!"

"Go to the bathroom and hide there, okay?" Were the words I said as we parted ways.

I ran to the door and tried to unlock it, but heard the double locks click open from outside. Bond seemed terrified and his limbs began to shiver. He looked around for places to hide but couldn't find any. It was the first time in that night he had lost his calmness. The door barged open and a man entered the room. It was none other than Nanathon.

"Well, it seems like we have a rebel here." He muffled as he held a cigar in his mouth.

I looked back at Bond and he seemed more scared than I was. His eyes were fixed upon me and beads of sweat were forming near his temples. Before he could say anything, two bulky men were called and we were carried back to the hideous cells. They gave us some liquid medicine and asked us to lie down. Maybe it was the medicine or not, but in no time I passed out, only to wake up in the morning.

"You all are called to the assembly point, wake up you bloody bastards!" A guard yelled and opened up all the cells. We walked out half drowsy to the platform and sat down. Nanathon was on the stage speaking some non sense. However, one thing he said was quite unusual.

"One of you has rebelled and will pay the price for it." He smirked. "Too bad it was my favorite one."

"I think he's talking about me, Pin." Bond looked at me.

"It's nothing Bond. Maybe he's talking about his workers."

"No Pin, he is talking about me." Bond suddenly sprang up, as he noticed two people being brought onto the stage. They were tied to mobile beds and seemed familiar at sight.

I suddenly realized. They was Bond's parents.

At first Bond tried to yell and get everyone's attention but it was all in vain. Hopelessness eventually took over and he slumped down upon me, bawling his eyes out. "Now the rebel will be punished." The devil Nanathon announced. I could do nothing but pat Bond's head to console him. Within a few minutes, some people came into the crowd, searching for the 'rebel'. The found Bond and mercilessly snatched him away from me. I could feel his nails dig into my skin.

"The rebel is one of the best butchers in here. It's like he knows the body by his heart and soul. Anyone who eats the meat prepared by him gets addicted to it. I feel sad for letting him go." Nanathon was apathetic to the petrified children listening to him.

Bond was dragged to the stage and he was handed a butcher's knife."Find their vein and slaughter them kid." He coaxed Bond.

"Please. Please kill me instead."

"You can't decide your punishment! " Nanathon yelled. He took Bond's hand and placed it right above his mother's neck, who was surprisingly calm.

"Mom, are you not scared?" He questioned with tears in his eyes.

"For an evil mother, there is no better way to die than at the hands of her own righteous son." Her words were like spotting a firefly in a dense forest.

"Dad, what is mom saying?" He looked at his father.

"I agree with her. This is the first time that someone in our family has opposed the evil prac -" Before he could finish his sentence, Nanathon had slit his neck causing the blood to gush out.

Bond's mother screamed loudly but it was stopped by a slit to her neck. The scream eventually became more breathy as the blood spurted out, covering Bond's face. The seven year old kid had just witnessed the death of his parents, by his own hand. Bond slumped on the ground, motionless as he saw everyone in motion. The situation of the place resonated with that of his mind but their helplessness resonated with his. He saw Nanathon licking his mother's neck and drinking the scarlet blood that was flowing out. Flies had gathered near his father's body and the blood had started forming a brown crust.

"Nanathon!" He yelled as he charged towards the devil and penetrated the knife through the layers of his stomach, which caused him to fall back on the ground. Blood flowed out from his abdomen as he pressed the knife with his feet deeper and deeper.

At that point, my mind had become blank. I got up from my place and ran to hug Bond on the stage, as I felt the embrace tighten and my clothes becoming wet with warm tears.

"You did well." I whispered in his ears.
