50. Unraveling Uncertainties Part 6

The trio walked out of the room and Bond made sure to lock the door this time. Spence looked at him and gave out a light chuckle, which echoed in the hallway.

"What?" Bond seemed confused.

"No, I mean it's funny seeing you be this cautious."

"Yeah, I remember Bond used to sleep without locking the main gate of our house." Pin added. His brown eyes glittered with happiness for the first time.

"See? I knew it!" Spence exclaimed.

"Yeah yeah, keep blaming me. It's not like I care." Bond pouted his lips.

"Oh my, baby seems to be angry. Baby ish angwy!" Spence cried out in a high pitched voice as he poked Bond's flushed nose. Bond glared at him in annoyance.

"Alright, we must stop it now. We reached our destination." Pin tried to cool off the heated atmosphere.

In front of them, there was the same wooden enameled door but the nameplate was different. "Tetsuo and Feng Mian." Spence read it out.

"Aren't these two the ones who fight with each other?"

"Yes." Pin replied.

"So who's the hacker among them?" Bond asked.

"It's Tetsu-"

Before Pin could complete his sentence, they heard a blood curdling scream from the room and the room door was suddenly barged open. Feng Mian stood in front of them, looking confused and petrified. He pushed them out of the way and ran out of the room, near Yu Han's room. The trio looked at him cluelessly and Spence walked to him, while Bond and Pin walked inside the room.

"It's sealed Feng Mian." Spence said to him.

"Sealed?"

"The door I mean. Whoever completes their task and goes down to the training room, their rooms get sealed."

"I don't want to go inside!" He yelled, which caused the others to rush out.

"What's the matter Feng Mian?"

"Where's Tetsuo?"

In no time, a crowd had gathered around him. At the same time, everyone heard another scream from Alejandro and Binh's room. Since Alejandro had passed away, Anh shifted into his room. Binh came running out of the room and stood in front of the concerned crowd.

"It's... Anh. He died. In my room. I just saw it." He spoke in between his heavy breaths.

It was the first time people took notice of that boy. He had a square face and tanned skin, which complimented his rare blue eyes. He leaned more towards the malnourished side which accounted for the lack of energy. A tuft of hazel hair which ended at the nape of his neck were now poking out in all directions, as he had just woken up from sleep.

"Where is he? I mean the dead body?" Spence tried to be polite.

"It's in our room. Please find out the killer. I want to avenge my friend's death."

Spence walked into Feng Mian's room and reported about the incident to Pin and Bond, who seemed to be engrossed in investigating the dead body. He walked out of the room silently and headed to Alejandro's room.

Meanwhile in Feng Mian's room, the case had become similar to a locked room mystery. "The only suspect we have is Feng Mian." Pin muttered.

"You see the brutality? He was stabbed multiple times in sleep. A friend can't do so." Bond observed the wounds. "The marks are five centimeter deep, and they don't seem to be meaured."

"His face Bond. It has no expression of pain on his face." Pin had a wrinkle of worry on his face.

"We can only ask the suspect for more details."

"I have taken down the points and I think we should leave now." Pin closed his notebook and headed outside the room. Bond followed. However, the hallway was as empty as a desert. They saw Spence walk towards them.

"Come to the room with me goddammit!" He exclamed.

Bond and Pin rushed to the room as fast as they could and noticed a crowd around the entrance. They made their way into the room and saw the dead person lying on the bed, with a knife penetrating the stomach. Pin cupped his face in horror.

"What happened Pin?" Spence grabbed his shoulder.

"Anh and Tetsuo were the hackers I talked about yesterday."

"What?"

"I am guessing we are being monitored. This whole thing is a bloody trap!" Pin was close to having a mental breakdown. He began to laugh out loudly and slumped down on the floor as tears filled his eyes. Meanwhile, Bond rushed out of the room as the scene triggered him. Spence was the last resort to them and he walked upto the pale, lifeless body. He grabbed the knife handle and gently pulled out the knife out, making sure not to hurt the body. The knife was stained brown along the edges and it was something other than dried blood. "Perhaps it's rust." He muttered as he put the knife into a spare plastic bag lying around and walked out of the room.

"Don't worry, we're an inch closer to the truth." He said to console the mortified crowd.
