Emma was worried about her getting late, she ran faster not watching out. Liam was coming in from the other side, walking lazily and whistling. He saw Emma coming towards him, he was about to wave his hands when she suddenly bumped into him, both ending up falling.
Emma tried to get up from above him. After getting up herself, she helped Liam to get up.
"Are you okay?" Liam asked, seeing her rubbing her elbow.
"It's all your fault, who told you to come in front." Emma snarled, picking up her things from the ground.
"Mine? Miss it was you who bumped into me. I know I am good looking but you don't have to approach me like this." Liam scoffed, crossing his arms.
"If I had a choice, I would better bumped into a pillar instead of you." Emma mockingly smiled at him before walking away.
"Pillar? Does it mean I am getting compared to a pillar, and I am worse?" Liam questioned himself, pointing his finger towards him, and tilting his head sideways.
"Eh, wait." He saw her leaving, and ran behind her.
"What does that mean?" Liam asked after catching up with her.
"What?" Emma was confused about what he was talking about.
"What have you said before? Did you mean I am worse than a pillar?" Liam asked her.
Emma stopped on her track, and looked at him. She went close to her, seeing her walking close to him, he retreated a bit, until he was pinned to the wall.
"What are you doing?" He asked, retreating his body.
"Bro, if you have so much free time, use it to count all the birds in the city instead of following me." Emma said, tapping his shoulder before leaving.
He was dazed for a few minutes, before processing what she said,"Free time? Hey! Who are you calling free? I am more busy than you!" He yelled at her, leaving a silhouette.
She didn't say anything, instead she waved her hand without turning him. Liam wanted to argue but people were already looking at him. He cleared his throat before making his back and chin straight, he walked away as if nothing happened.
He went to Jack's room instead of his room, he knocked at his door.
Jack opened the door and saw his friend, in a sour mood. He stomped in, in anger and sat down on Jack's bed.
"What happened?" Jack asked, offering him a drink. "Don't ask." He said gulping down the drink in one go.
"Okay," Jack shrugged his shoulder and sat on a chair across the bed.
Liam's jaw dropped, why is everyone around him so cold and stone hearted. First it was Emma and now his best friend, Jack. Can't they be more warm and gentle towards him, he didn't kill them in his last life, right? Or maybe he did, who can he know?
"Bro, are you really my brother?" Liam asked in disbelief.
"No, you are Liam Qi. I am Jack Wang, we have different families and surnames." Jack explained sternly.
Liam sighed at his friend's sense of humor, nothing can happen to him.
"Bro, I am asking, are you really my friend?" Liam asked, shaking his head for his brother's sense of humor.
"Are you here to ask me that?" Jack questioned, embarrassed from early conversation.
"Fine, fine. Bro do you remember the new girls who joined our class today?" Liam asked him.
"Yes, what about her?" Jack nodded remembering about Bella.
"She is crazy, she even insulted me that I am lazy and a pillar is better than me. How can she say that?" Liam complained to him about Emma and his conversation from before.
"Never thought she could be sarcastic too." Jack muttered, mistaking that the girl Liam talking about is Bella.
"Brother, she is not sarcastic, she is crazy, she doesn't have eyes, not seeing a god like me even insulting me." Liam cursed her after hearing Jack's word.
"Are you done?" Jack looked at him. "If you do go from here, I have other work." Jack dragged him out, closing the door on his face.
"Hey! I am not done, why are you so cold to me?" Liam tried to stay but Jack dragged him out not listening to him.
"But I am done, go now." Jack said before closing his door on his face.
"Tsk. Tsk. Treating me like a doormat, you wait and watch, you will never get a girl." Liam cursed him before leaving.
Jack sighed hearing his nonsense, he knew after a few minutes he would come again, asking for forgiveness.
But he couldn't control himself, after hearing him cursing Bella, he got really furious. He didn't know why but thinking about her brings a smile on his face like always.
He was getting more curious about her, when she was with him, it was really awkward. She didn't look like a person to talk back or taunt someone. If he was correct, she was a shy and silent type who tries to avoid crowds and limelight.
But when he heard Liam insulting her, his blood boil, he somehow felt relieved when he said she didn't take any interest in Liam, he felt joy and triumph for no reason.
Was he going crazy? Why does he even care, if she shows interest in Liam or not? It was not his business but why was he feeling so uneasiness.
He shook off his thought, and started painting on an empty canvas. He didn't have an idea what he was drawing but he just drawed, he himself was shocked with the result he drawed.
It was a portrait of Bella, sitting inside the cafe, and reading a book. Her wavy brown hair flowing down her shoulder, her small almond shaped eyes, looking at the book.
Her thin nose, and pastel pink lips make a perfect image of her.
Jack caressed the portrait of her, he was going crazy for sure, he drawed her subconsciously. Why her? But still a small smile appeared on his lips.
