Guardian

The welcoming party was nice but Sasha is on her descent of insanity and couldn't accept living in a safe zone where people are oblivious of the horrors that are outside. The others like Michonne and Rick enjoyed the party although they were a bit stiff at times. Most of them showed that they could adapt but couldn't forget their ways after wandering around for about a month. Myself? I didn't get PTSD from not having a safe place to call home and just getting a new one after a month. I had an inhuman mentality after experiencing dying once, it's a feeling you won't ever be able to forget.

I chatted with mainly Deanna and the ladies due to the many assumptions. During my chatting period, I asked a couple questions about Edin to build an understanding of her. I knew from the show that she wanted her parents but sadly I won't be reviving anyone. The only person who will have that much of an opportunity is Noah since I've known him for so long. The question that garnered a lot of support was when I asked, "Do you all think I could get guardianship over Edin? I've always wanted to be a father and she needs someone to look up to as a pillar of support. I was an orphan so I understand her somewhat of not having parents to be around to support you."

That was how I ended up becoming the guardian of Edin two days later, currently I was helping her bring her stuff to my house and settling her into her room that was a door away from the master bedroom. During the last two days, I built a couple shelves for the basement and study. I also bought a keypad door along with a metal frame for the bolts to go through; basically I made the basement a vault that no one can access without somehow entering an exclamation mark into the keypad that can only be done with customization manipulation. I also used the ability to make the basement's concrete walls and door to be invincible.

The basement had plenty of space and it also had a fridge, which I later filled with thin slices of flesh in containers of blood. I had several fuel powered generators, customized to be infinitely filled and produce zero fumes so I don't breathe in burned fuel when I come down to the basement. Many would say I'm going too far but no, I made a power bank to store all the electricity that's produced by the generators and a bunch of other stuff to setup a local area network to create our own 'Internet.'

Today was the day Noah dies. After I just finished helping Edin move her stuff into her room, we were sitting in the living room in silence; which I broke just now, "I'm sorry for forcing myself as your guardian but you seemed too young and alone to go without a pillar of support, especially in times like these." Edin sat in silence, seemingly ignoring me. I could tell that she was slightly happy although not entirely. I continued talking, "I know that you sneak out of the walls by climbing over it with rods. I won't stop you, in fact that is what we're doing today. I have a bad feeling about Noah today and the run, so we'll be tailing them."

Edin looked over with a questioning look and asked, "Why?" I gave her a smile and said, "I've known Noah for awhile, he isn't suited to be a scavenger even though he can defend himself. I also want to bond with you since they aren't built without putting in work. Get the things you need, I'm going to go into the basement real quick to get you a gun." Edin was shocked that I had guns inside the basement and asked how I got them, "I sneak out during the night and go looting, that's how I built that keypad and door for the basement. It's pretty sound proof down there so I didn't have anyone knocking my door wondering why they hear power tools and pounding." With that, I went and got her a SIG-Sauer P226 and a couple mags for it which I summoned with my ability.

Currently we were over the wall and went to the last thing that I bought before running out of system points, a Dodge Challenger 2016 SRT Hellcat and followed the van to the Vega Zeta Solar Distribution after seeing it drive pass 5 minute before. Didn't want them to panic seeing someone tailing them. When Edin and I arrived, they had just finished checking the area and went inside. I sat and waited for the grenade to go off, I didn't care about anyone else other than Glenn and Noah. When I heard an explosion, I looked towards Enid who was startled by the sudden boom and said, "Seems like I was right." I faced forward and leaned against the seat but not before telling Edin, "We'll wait for a moment. Someone may be at risk right nut but patience is important, if there are no signs of them coming out then we make a move." Edin faced towards me and practically yelled at me, "But what if they are die?! What then?"

I sighed and told her the facts, "The explosion would of killed them in that case and if they aren't dead, I know Glenn will get everyone back in order after the panic. But still, they have two cowards with them which might cause a coward or two to do a stupid decision. Look at the front of the building, see all those zombies? If the zombies start to move towards the revolving door then that means someone was being a coward and put lives at risk. They came through another entrance so it would be the logical decision to go through it since you already know that it's not infested with zombies and you know where it is."

Edin was quiet before asking softly, "Will they be alright?" I patted her and said, "I only care about the people in my group since with the information that I got from talking to the resident, it's highly likely that the two who aren't apart of my group left their previous members for dead." Edin was unsure so she asked, "What did you do before everything happened?" I gave the same answer that I gave everyone but I added more context, "I was a high school graduate and during my time in school, I caused chaos for my entertainment by manipulating people to go a certain way. That's a secret between us, alright?" She giggled and nodded, agreeing to keep it a secret.

"Oh, looks like something went wrong." I said out loud before starting the car and driving towards the entrance that had Eugene honking to draw away the zombies from the entrance. "You know how to use a gun, right? Well it doesn't matter since I'll be protecting you since I'm your guardian now." When the zombies were drawn away, we arrived and got out of the car before walking towards the revolving door seeing Glenn along with Noah on one side and Nicholas on the other. I sighed and said to their shocked, desperate faces of the three, "Seems like I was right, Noah indeed was in danger. I'll get Glenn and Noah out first, sorry other guy but friends over strangers." I broke the revolving door's window for Glenn and Noah by shooting it out with my M1911 that I pulled out of inventory but to others it seemed like I took it out of my pocket.

Glenn and Noah immediately came out then helped Nicholas get out. Seeing them all fine, I waved them off and casually said, "See ya' back at Alexandria. Come, lets go Edin. This is good bonding time, right?" With that, I left and went back to Alexandria with a confused Edin who kept asking how I predicted what would happen. I gave a half ass answer, "Information and mathematics."

Edin, frustrated, slapped my arm and said, "That's not a proper answer!"
