CHAPTER EIGHT (8) Assault

Rose's sudden turn scared the shit out of the young man, he tried to hide it but nothing could be hidden from Rose! She was way too smart to be easily deceived.

"Brother Shun," Rose's voice was tender.

More reason for Lai Shun to worry. "Seems you have a lot of free time on your hand,"

"Not...Not really." Damn it! Lai Shun hates appearing weak in her presence, but what could he do? Her voice carried so much weight, he just couldn't help but cower! "I'm a very busy person,"

"Exactly what I thought," Rose revealed a tiny smile. "I'd like it more if you could visit the warehouse and make sure everything is going accordingly."

Lai Shun raised an eyebrow, "And if I decline?"

"Why would you?" Rose inquired. "It's for the betterment of our Empire!"

"I have other important things to do." He pressed the twentieth number to let him out, his breathing was becoming hard. He got out as soon as he could, made a little bow and disappeared.

Rose smirked. "Fool." The elevator beeped at the last floor and she was welcomed by Xu Dandan coming out of the meeting room with her subordinates, while the rest greeted her, Dandan followed her.

Briefing Rose about the whole meeting and the next line of production and it's quantity.

"We should really consider reproducing, waffle biscuits..."

"No," Rose was quick to reply.

"Believe me, there's high demand of it."

"In your stomach."

"..." Dandan couldn't speak, she looked around making sure no one had heard that.

"Where's Zedong?"

"Right here," Zedong took long strides towards the two women. "Good morning, boss."

"Morning," Rose was now sitting at her table. "Dandan?"

"...Yes?"

Zedong took a quick peek at Dandan and saw her sad face. "Have you briefed boss Rose on the waffle biscuits?" Zedong already knew why she had that look on. He tried holding in his smile.

"Excuse me," Dandan bowed and left.

Zedong hoisted his eyes up in time to see the smirk on Rose's face. 'I was right.'

"What do you say?" Rose's question was simple and easy to grab.

"We really need to reproduce it, it's in high demand and we would spice it up by adding different flavors."

"Hmm," As Rose was pondering over it, Zedong went forward to show her the tablet he held.

"Here are the charts,"

Rose scanned the tablet in matter of seconds and a smile lit up her face. "Including red ginseng tea?"

Zedong grinned, nodded twice and happily replied. "Yes, ma'am."

"Have you contacted the Zhejiang farm products department yet?"

Zedong shook his head. "Was waiting for your go ahead..."

"Call and schedule a meeting."

"Yes, ma'am." Zedong couldn't be hidden, who didn't like making sales? Certainly not him. "Also, by the end of the week, our snacks will be entering the markets and start selling from the new week."

"Well, that's some great effo..."

Dandan rushed through the door without knocking, "Pick up the phone ma'am."

Rose never had a reason to worry except for one person... seeing how worked up Dandan was, it made her heart fly out of her body.

"Breathe," Zedong was displeased by Dandan's worrisome behavior.

"There's no time." That's all Dandan had to say.

Rose picked up and phone was taken aback. "Hello, Chen Rose on the line."

"No time for all these,"

"Grace?" Wondering why she would be calling with an office line, Grace didn't let the thought sink in before continuing.

"I think it would do you good to refer to me as Attorney Ruolan!" Grace voice came through the phone.

Rose tilted her head to the side. "Why?"

"You're being sued for destruction of property,"

Rose had the sudden urge to burst into laughter but then again, what did Grace mean?

"Too stunned to speak?"

"Hahaha,"

"..." Dandan really wanted to know what Miss An was saying to her boss. Boss Rose was so used to threats that she didn't take it serious anymore.

"..." Zedong also had the same expression because of how worked up Dandan had appeared and their boss's laughter... It was certainly something to worry about!

"I think I know who it is," Rose spoke into the phone.

"That's not all," Grace informed her.

"What else?"

"He's also suing you for assault!"

Rose's eyes shone. "He sure is brave... tsk tsk tsk."

"Rose?" Grace didn't like Rose carefree nature... "This isn't something to play about with."

"How much?"

"This guy isn't after your money! This is much more serious..."

"We will deal with it, meet up with his lawyer and find out how we can settle it."

"Okay," Grace sighed. "When are we meeting up though?"

"Pick a date, I'll be there."

"Fine," Grace was worried, her voice said it all. "I think you should keep to yourself, I mean stay out of trouble girl."

"I'm not in trouble,"

"We will only be able to determine that after the first meeting! You already have enough family problems..."

"They can't do anything." An evil grin formed on Rose's face. "They know best to blabber, nothing more."

Dandan facepalmed. Then prayed it won't affect them.

"Whatever, just be safe. Bye."

"Yeah, bye." Rose held her laughter until the call ended. "Hahahaha..." she really did a great job holding it in, if not Grace would be mad or think she was mocking her advise.

"Ma'am, what is going on?" Zedong quickly asked.

"Are you dumb?" Dandan eyed him. "Isn't it obvious?"

"Just shut up..." They were interrupted by the noise outside the office.

"WHERE'S THAT FOOLISH GIRL?"

Rose could already tell whom it was and why the person would be furious. She stood up and matched out with her secretaries right behind her.

"What mad dog is it?" Rose hated noisemakers.

"WHAT?" Peng Lanying was so shocked that her body vibrated in anger. "WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?"

Peng Lanying was her grand uncle grandchild, yes, her family extends to that much length.

"I DARE YOU TO REPEAT YOURSELF ONE MORE TIME!" Peng Lanying threw her purse to the ground, ready for a fight.

Rose smirked, "Why are you so triggered?" She assessed her and her next question threw everyone off. "Are you a mad dog?"

Peng Lanying, didn't know whether to cry or laugh.
