The Great Medical Hospital, a young lady lay on the bed inside a private ward, she seemed to be unconscious as her eyes staring at the ceiling refused to move away nor blink.
She seemed to be in a trance but only she knew that her heart was at war. Her hands lay intertwined on her chest.
'That stupid Ruolan had broken her leg, what will she do with a broken leg now? Her title would be insignificant from now, until whenever the damn leg wanted to recover! That bastard! B*tch! Sl*t! Ahhh! She will find Ruolan and make sure to kick her stomach so hard that she isn't able to have babies in the future! That evil girl had ulterior motives! She was the gullible person for agreeing to see her! Yes! How could she be so dumb? What was she thinking? That Grace was still the same innocent girl she was? No way wou she be after staying with Rose in university. The two had literally formed a bond that was against her. But because she still likes Grace, she had hopes that Grace was trying to bring back their friendship'
Sometimes, even the best of friendships can fall apart. Whether you and your bestie had a blowup fight or just slowly drifted away over time, platonic relationships can end just like romantic relationships and they can hurt just as badly.
However, now, nothing could be able to dissolve her hate for An Ruolan Grace. That foolish girl!
The more Peng Lanying cursed Ruolan the more hot tears slide from her eyes and into her ears.
She couldn't even move her own leg, it was in so much pain that she couldn't think of the right word to describe it.
She heard her mother's voice coming from outside of her door and quickly wiped her tears. "Go call the doctor, why didn't he assign nurses to Ying'er? Is he nuts? What does he think? We will pay such huge amount and get the same treatment as others?" The voice was loud enough even for the people at the last floor to hear.
"Yes, ma'am." Yin answered.
The door opened to reveal a woman in her mid forties, she was none other than Duan Biyu, Duan Yongrui's only child and cousins to Yue Zheng(Rose's mother) and Lai Quan( Lai Shun's father).
Wearing a Gucci satin knee length dress that has plinting, a duffel bag hung on her lower arm as she went closer to her child, with a sad expression she caressed Lanying's broken leg. She was accompanied by a maid, whom was carrying two bags.
"Ying'er." The woman soft tone caused Lanying's tears to come rushing again. Her nose, ears, eyes and cheeks were scarlet colored. "Don't worry, I'm going to find that crazy girl. She will surely pay for this." She stared at the bandages as if she wanted to bore a hole into it and heal her child.
Peng Lanying could only breath a sigh of relief while sniffing, she didn't want to talk to anyone. Thankfully her driver had been smart enough to come check up on her.
The humiliation of laying on the cold and dirty floor of the cafe still didn't leave her head. The way the women there looked at her with disgust and pity.
That image would never depart from her.
There was some noise outside before a doctor and two nurses entered.
"What is this silly treatment?" Mrs Peng barked. "I didn't bring my child here for her to be unattended to."
"No, no." The doctor tried using a coercing tone. "Actually Ms Peng had said she wanted to be alone, we can't stay here against her permission."
Mrs Peng pressed her mouth together not knowing what to say.
The doctor and nurses stood there awkwardly.
"Ying'er, my child, have you eaten? Hmm? I brought you something sweet."
"Get out." Peng Lanying words was enough to make the two young nurses snort but they bowed their heads and left.
"Ying'er, you see, you're such a strong girl right from birth, so don't let this little thing to scare you..."
"This little thing?" Peng Lanying sat up in her bed, scaring the older woman. "What little thing?"
"Ay, aye." Mrs Peng rubbed her chest. "You finally want to talk to me." The woman was excited. "I'm really telling you not to worry, I have told Jun to get the best osteopathic doctor for you, so don't worry, okay?"
Peng Lanying just stared at her mother without saying anything more she looked away.
"Aish, don't be so hard on yourself, okay? Eat now, okay?" She took out the cow bone porridge and tried to feed Lanying.
Peng Lanying reluctantly opened her mouth after perceiving the aroma of the cow bone porridge. After she had her full, her mother told the maid to go bring clean water so she would wipe her daughter clean.
"I'm not a child."
Hearing that statement Mrs Peng frowned but smiled immediately after that. "You, you're my child."
Peng Lanying rolled her eyes. "You're not bathing me here,"
"I'm not bathing you, I want to clean you up, if not, you'd be smelling, hmmph." Mrs Peng scrunched up her nose after saying that, then waved her hands in front of her face as if to say her Lanying was smelling.
Peng Lanying tilted her head to make eye contact with the woman but she kept avoiding it.
"Hahaha, Ying'er." Mrs Peng couldn't hold it in anymore and slapped Lanying on the shoulder to stop teasing her. "But, what if your boyfriends come to look for you."
"Mom." She glared at the woman. "You shouldn't be saying that. Remember grandpa is mad at me because of that word, boyfriends."
"There's nothing bad in having one, so don't worry."
One? She didn't have any. She just went around flirting with handsome young masters, none that matched her taste though so she ends up getting tired.
"I will tell your father to find you a rich generational young Master."
