CHAPTER FORTY-FIVE (45) A Well Deserved Rest

Everyone was busy, just like the vehicle mixing concrete.

They were still molding blocks and bending irons in preparation for the seven story building, which will be in the form of a castle.

After the restaurant will be completed, she had other plans, but one after another.

Rushing was no use, if it'd end up a mess.

They both heard the gate opening and turned to it, Su Yuanqi paused at the gate seeing her.

There is a beauty in the northern lands. Unequaled, high above the world she stands. At her first glance, soldiers would lose their town. At her second, a monarch would lose his crown...

Was that the best line to describe her with? Perhaps... He couldn't tell but that was the only lines, his head could come up with at that moment. He couldn't even remember where he read it from, but it was certainly from one of his favorite stories.

Rose... His mouth opened but only air came out of it. Her unforeseen smile, made his heart miss a beat.

His fingers dug into his palms, thankfully his hands were in his long black blazer pockets.

What was with her smiling? It was alluring... But doesn't it make people envy her more? And others fall deeper for her. Her sparkling eyes were visible due to the fact they are big.

"Good morning Mr Su," came the cheerful voice, which ends up echoing in his head after she disappears.

He Duyi took some steps away from her.

Yuanqi gulped before replying. "Good morning Miss Chen."

Rose frowned. "Rose, that's what I told you to refer to me as."

He took some steps closer, standing beside her and looking at the men working he said, "A Young Miss from a wealthy family, how could I dare?"

"You didn't object the last time,"

Yuanqi understood exactly what she meant. He took a brief glance at her then said yet again. "I lost my manners."

Rose nearly hissed. "You are older than I am."

"That I know, but..."

"But what?"

"He," Yuanqi pointed at He Duyi. "Also refers to you as Young Miss, Miss Chen or Boss, why should I be different?"

Rose's mouth hung open for a long time, not knowing how to answer. So Rose came to a head not to reply.

After some time standing there, Rose got ready to leave.

"See you, bye." Her wave and smile spread like a virus all over his body.

"Bye," Yuanqi replied. He didn't know what was taking over him, but it certainly wasn't anything good.

"Wait," a thought popped up in Rose's head, and her eyes gleamed. "Why don't you prepare lunch for the workers? It's all over the internet that your cooking skills are unmatched even if I have never tasted it. So make lunch for the workers, I'd still pay you for that so, it's not for free, don't panic. Also send to the corporation if you can, I'd love to have a taste." Rose spoke at length, making hand gestures, then pouting at the last word.

"Are you done?" Yuanqi asked, he was a patient listener, so he let her speak and asked after she stopped talking.

"Yes," Rose was still pouting. "What? You don't like the idea?"

"How come you've never tasted my food, but came up with the idea of us being business partners..." Yuanqi paused, he examined her expressionless face before continuing. "What if it flops?"

"Hmm," Rose made a thinking sound. "I carry out investigations, I have also read reviews. And at first, I thought you'd demand for huge amount but, you sure is stubborn. So that's the only other option, and as I'm too GREEDY to leave this land." She stressed the word greedy and spread out her hand after speaking gesturing to the land and it's spot. "It's on the main road."

Yuanqi nodded, as the realization dawned on him. "It's on the main road." He repeated. "I really underestimate you,"

Rose raised her brows proudly.

Wow! She keeps surprising him, what more was to come?

"I also trust my intuition, it can never be wrong." She winked at him and caught his jaw tighten. Rose whom was good at discussing business, bringing new proposals, now wanted to learn something different.

Complimenting this young man that seemed to stand out. He was nothing like the socialite men, he is rich, she knows that but simple. Since she was the one proposing deals, she expected him to be at least greedy, demanding for more or even wanting her. He was built different.

With all his charms, he wasn't also a playboy. Nay, nay, nay. He was occupying so much of her thoughts which wasn't right at all.

Rose shook her head, trying to shake the thoughts off.

"If you need help, I'm just a call away." Rose winked at him again before turning around to leave.

He Duyi bowed at Yuanqi and followed suit, leaving a very confused Yuanqi with his heart beating fast.

It wasn't up to five minutes when Rose and Duyi left, before Yuanqi Co-Chefs appeared.

Changsu had the brightest smile, as he ran to hug the frozen Yuanqi.

Yuanqi whom had been looking at the gate but his thoughts far away gave a start.

"You look so healthy, you really deserved this rest." Changsu compliment caused Shen to Laugh.

"He has always been healthy."

"His cheeks are fuller, making it appear squishable."

"Good Morning, Mr Su." Baozhai had a box in hand then pushed it to Yuanqi.

Yuanqi accepted the gift box without question.

"It's the first snow for Christmas, wear this to keep your hands warm." Baozhai sentence caused Changsu to cringe.

Shen immediately patted his back telling him not to say anything just this one time. Surprisingly, Changsu shook his head and kept quiet.

"Thanks Baozhai, but you don't need to."

"Hehe," Baozhai laugh was dry. Who said she doesn't need to? She has to! It was her way of conveying her feelings which she couldn't muster up the courage to speak yet. "Don't worry, it didn't cost me a fortune." She caught Changsu's eye roll and quickly changed the topic. "These men are walking really hard."
