CHAPTER FIFTY-ONE (51) Dirty Attitude

The silence this time was deadly as Zedong was torn in between laughing and crying.

"You've never been one to worry about such things..."

"Uhm," Zedong was right, but then, he had called her evil young lady. "I know but, don't you also think the public should have another view of me?"

"They always did though. And more will, after the restaurant is completed."

"Aish..." Rose thought deeply about it.

"Are you really worried?" Zedong narrowed his eyes at her.

"Not really,"

"What's with the look then?"

"It's because..." Rose trailed off. How will she answer that. Why was she worried about those people that didn't have an ounce of feeling? The only reason she kept venturing into many business was to make the world a simpler place. "Don't worry."

"No, I should be saying that to you."

Rose shook her head. "I'm shaking off the thoughts."

"Perfect." He grinned at her. "And for todays, meeting, Anshu came up with cup yoghurt with four flavors. Kiwi, dragon fruit, pomegranate and cocoa. This will be good, considering the fact we are entering into the new year."

Rose didn't interrupt but listened with rapt attention.

"Also putting in Dandan's idea, I think that will really set us up. Breaking into the new year with new ideas, that should be our goal from now on."

"Agreed." Rose chimed.

"So then are you willing to put your stamp over this?" He asked raising the file he had being withholding.

The smile that spread on Rose's face, made Zedong to put the file down on her table.

Rose signed and stamped the date on it then gave it back to him.

"oh, I almost forgot." Zedong started. "I've the gifts ready, so I want to know if you'd go along with me or I'd go alone."

Rose nodded remembering that she had to be at different places during the weekend. "I'll go with you, not to worry."

As he headed out, he stopped at the door to say to her. "If you desire something, and you know you can get it, don't be afraid to go after it. The world people will still talk, even if you do nothing. And I don't know you to be someone that's concerned about what other people say." Zedong left Rose staring at a shut glass door.

She soon looked down at the drawing still in her hand.

Truly, she didn't use to care. Well that's what she thought, but there are more reasons for her to start pondering over her actions.

Rose took a brief glance at her wristwatch and decided to give Grace a call.

*~~~*

The An law firm.

Duan Biyu, folded her hands in front of her chest as she waited for the receptionist to place a call over to Grace. She had also brought a lot of security guards with her, knowing fully well, she was there to cause a commotion. And she won't leave until she does something to that girl that dared to hurt her child.

"Okay," she heard the receptionist say into the telephone.

The receptionist dropped the telephone and focused her attention on her, informing her that Miss An had an official meeting with one of their client and won't be available for the next one hour.

Duan Biyu narrowed her eyes at the receptionist, as anger slowly swallowed her up. "Did you tell her it's me?" She asked pointing at herself. "Duan Biyu."

"Mrs Peng, I also added that information." The receptionist answered. Keeping her attitude in check.

"Call her again and tell her it's me." Duan Biyu also tried to keep her attitude in check. "Call her quickly!"

At the rise of her voice, Grace stopped dead in her track. She alongside other lawyers, were on their way out when she heard the noise.

"Go find out what's going on." She said to one of the lawyer after seeing the small crowd gathered around the receptionist area and he walked up to the receptionist.

"What's going on?" The lawyer asked upon getting to receptionist area.

"Mrs Peng..." the receptionist started but was interrupted by Duan Biyu.

"I'm here to see Grace." Duan Biyu interrupted. Causing a frown on some of the onlookers. "Where's she?"

The lawyer flashed her a smile. "Do you have an appointment..."

"I don't need an appointment to see her."

Duan Biyu choice of words and way of interrupting was her own way of grabbing attention, and that's exactly what she was doing.

"I'm sorry ma'am but you can't see Miss An without an appointment unless she called you over herself." The male lawyer said trying to salvage the situation.

"You sure don't know who I am, do you?" Duan Biyu was losing her patience. They don't know, she is the only Duan grandchild eligible to answer the Duan name. Her father is and will always remain the inheritor of that name. "I am..."

"Duan Biyu."

Duan Biyu heard her name and raised her head to look for whom might have recognized her. It was none other than Grace.

"You," she pointed at the girl that is one year younger than her first child. "How dare you call me by my full name?"

Grace strode over. "Isn't that what you wanted to say?" She asked, feigning surprise. "I'm sorry, if you think I'm being disrespectful, I was only trying to help."

"Trying to help?" Duan Biyu nodded her head thrice. "I see..."

"Why are you looking for me?" Grace was one to go straight to the point. Perhaps she learnt it from Rose.

"Why am I looking for you? Aren't you asking the obvious?"

Grace shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Duan Biyu's blood boiled. She was going to hit this girl that dared to hurt her child. "I want you to apologize to my child."

There was a prolonged silence.

Not even the onlookers knew what to say or how to react.

"What?" A crease formed on Grace's forehead.

"Are you deaf?" Duan Biyu closed the distant between her and the younger girl. "I said you need to apologize to my child!" Her voice echoed in the lobby. "You know what you did right? You hurt my..."

"Now I see where Lanying got her dirty attitudes from." Grace raised and dropped her eyebrows at the woman.

"What?" For the first time, Duan Biyu was speechless.
