CHAPTER SIXTY (60) Romantic Date?

Su Yuanqi searched all the classes but didn't see his sister. And as he was on his way out, he heard someone call his name.

"Mr Su, is that you?"

He turned to the voice at the door. "Miss Cui,"

"Oh, it's really you." The woman said with a smile.

Su Yuanqi walked up to the exit door and said. "Yes," then went ahead to ask about his sister. "Where's Ran'er?"

"Oh, I had seen her at the back with the principal." Miss Cui informed him.

"Thank you," he said then climbed down the stairs and walked towards the backyard.

At the back,

Zedong, Dandan, Duyi as well as some of the teachers were picking up the item packaging thrown around by the children into the thrash cans, when Yuanqi appeared.

They were all busy and weren't paying attention to anyone else.

Yuanqi was also focused on the three people under the shade.

He saw a girl child standing between the principal and another woman, whom he thought was one of the teachers then went forward to where they stood.

On getting close, he realized two things, the girl wasn't Ranqi and the young lady wasn't a teacher...

Wearing a white t-shirt tucked into blue jeans and a white sports shoes to match.

Her hair which she normally had in a ponytail was let loose, reaching above her hips, and had a cool demeanor spreading around her.

Chen Rose Lan... The young lady almost everyone has a crush on.

It was unlike her to appear in a place like this and dressed in such a simple way... He was momentarily shocked and forgot how to move.

'Rose is as beautiful as the moon. And it seemed like her beauty grew everyday...'

His line of thought was interrupted by a question in his head.

Wait, why is she here?

He was still wondering what she was doing there when the principal spoke to him.

"What are you doing stand there, Mr Su?"

Hearing the familiar name, Rose neck veered to where he might possibly be standing.

And she saw him, as she looked him up and down she saw the bouquet in his hand.

First of all, what was he doing there with pink bouquet of lilies?

Wearing a pale pink button down shirt, and a teal blue chinos pant.

Was he having a romantic date?

She weighed him up before turning away.

Su Yuanqi closed the space and was only two feets away from them when he greeted the principal.

"Good day, Mrs Huang."

"Oh, good day to you too." Mrs Huang smiled at him then remembering she wasn't alone she decided to introduce the two. "Oh, this is Miss Chen, and Miss Chen? This is Mr Su,"

He stretched out his hand ready to shake Rose. "I..." Su Yuanqi started but Rose was quick to cut him off.

"Nice to meet you, Mr Su." She took his outstretched hand for the briefest moment and let go.

Su Yuanqi was taken by surprise, why was she putting on an act? And why did she seem to be angry?

He didn't voice it out though.

"Mr Su here, has also contributed to the growth of this school." Mrs Huang wanted to properly introduce the two, unaware by the fact the two were having a staring competition. "He's such a promising young man. He visits every year with lunch for the children and participates in some of the activities, like if we organize a sport event, he's..."

"Oh, that's great." Rose interrupted the woman. "I'm sorry Mrs Huang but I have to leave now."

The woman that was interrupted didn't seem to be one bit angry as she bade farewell to Rose.

Su Yuanqi's gaze remained on her until she got into the awaiting SUV and it drove away through the back gate.

"She's such a good girl, you think so too, right?"

Hearing Mrs Huang question. Su Yuanqi was speechless, how should he answer that? Someone that he just met...

Or did the woman forget she just introduced them?

"Are you looking for Ran'er?" Mrs Huang turned to him and he replied with a yes.

"She ran to the front yard when the ice cream bus arrived, I think we should go to the front."

He bobbed his head and they both strode towards the front yard.

His eyes quickly found Ranqi beside Changsu as she was busy handing out packed lunch.

He circled the bus, entered, put the bouquet aside and picked her up. "Oh, here you are."

Ranqi was taken by surprise when she was lifted off her feet but hearing her brother's voice she relaxed and started giggling.

"Brother, where were you?"

Yuanqi turned her to face him. "I was looking for you."

"I was also looking for you, brother Chang said he doesn't know your whereabouts..." she complained to her brother with a pouty mouth.

Changsu hearing his name being mentioned by Ranqi, wanted to save himself but decided against it, as it will give the little girl room to bicker at him more. So he focused his attention on giving out the packed lunch.

"Haha," Su Yuanqi laughed. "I'm here now, oh lest I forget, I got something for you." He presented her with the bouquet.

"Wow!" Ranqi accepted the bouquet of pink lilies, put it to her nose to perceive the fresh scent of flowers. "They smell so nice!"

"Really?" Su Yuanqi had a big smile on his face.

"Yes," Ranqi answered.

"You like them, then?"

"Yes," Ranqi raised the bouquet with her two hands admiring it. "When I get home, I'll beg mommy to help me take care of them. I'll pamper them well, give them water also and... and..."

"Be sure to check on them always," Changsu chimed in.

"That's right." Ranqi didn't argue with him this time. "You're the sweetest brother, ever." Ranqi wrapped her right hand around her brother's neck. "I love you,"

Su Yuanqi's deep laughter caused his eyes to gleam with unshed tears. "I learn it from you, my princess. And I also love you a lot."
