Marguerite lets the servants pour the tea before dismissing everyone. The rigid guard stands still in place, Marguerite invited him multiple times to take a seat but the former refused, claiming it was overstepping boundaries.
In the end, Marguerite orders him formally to take a seat, making her feel a bit ridiculous to give out such an order, but it worked as Dilbert finally sat on the chair, albeit quite solidly.
Since that's the best outcome she could get she resigns herself to it and puts her gaze upon him. Marguerite is a bit taken aback by how unbothered he seems.
She is now used to being treated like royalty from her time here and in DaLan. Commoners look at her with fear and reverence, as if scared that a single mistake could cost them their heads. But though Dilbert treats her with the respect she deserves as a queen, his eyes don't hold a trace of fear or even reverence. Maybe that's why she felt curious and on guard when meeting him.
