Chapter 6

'Isaac? Isaac! Come back! Don't go. Come...back...'

Emily sits up on her bed. She's got beads of sweat running down her forehead. Emily exhales. She gets out of bed and rummages in her wardrobe for her uniform.

The door creaks open.

"You're off from school. It's Saturday." Elliott says.

Emily looks at him.

"Oh. Thank you for reminding me Elliott."

Elliott nods.

Emily closes the door to her wardrobe and lays down on her bed. She feels for her phone and finds it next to her. She goes on Toonbi to check for anything new but to her surprise there's nothing eventful.

Taking the TV remote, she switches the TV on and goes throught the channels until she stops on the News Channel.

The scene from a building turns into the headlines of the top story of the day.

'A body has been discovered by the authorities in the east of Ravendale. A middle aged man with a happy family and good health has died yesterday night at 2200 hours in an abandoned valley whose chest and wrists were slashed by what the police think is a knife. We go over to Martin Heyes for more details.'

Emily switches the TV off. She's shocked. What if that was near where Isaac was staying?

Emily lays down on her bed and thinks about what she had witnessed and heard.
