Alec watches Remi with a glint in his dark eyes. Remi looks up and frowns at Alec. "Why do you keep looking at me like that?" Remi asks as he places his book down. Alec gives him a cold smile as he says "She's been missing for two weeks... you were the last one to see her. You said she was coming... where is she?"
Remi sighs and says "Look, she didn't tell me what she was doing. She just told me to bring the stuff and she would meet up later. I really don't know." Alec clenches his fist and his smile turns cruel. Maya had told him she would be back before the third day but it's been two weeks!
He had sent out his men to look for her but there were no signs of her. The house had been shut down and no one has touched it. At first, Alec figured she was doing something but when she never showed up... he started to think of the worst.
Had Remi done something to her? And if he didn't... did someone else grab her? Had a creature gotten her? The mouse to the computer shatters under his grip. He pushes it off the desk and runs his hands through his hair.
He even tried to shift to her several times but nothing happens... it's like she's gone. Gone... No, he couldn't entertain that thought. She couldn't be gone. It's Maya we're talking about... Chip was even missing so he had to be with her.
"I told you already, I have no idea. She didn't tell me!" Remi says standing up in anger. "Do you really think I would do something to hurt her?" Alec looks at Remi with a cold, hard glare and says "To be honest 'Remi' I don't know what to think of the stray dog she picked up on the street."
"Don't think I don't realize or see the way you look at her or the times you've intentionally interrupted us." Alec slowly stands and he continues to glare at Remi. "I don't like you, I never have and now with her missing, I'm starting to think you have something to do with it."
Remi gives him a blank look before it turns into an equally dark smile. Remi turns to look at Alec with a dark smirk. "If I had taken her do you really think I'd be here right now? But you're right, I do like her. More than anyone I've ever met. She doesn't belong to you."
Alec's eyes harden as a twisted smile breaks across his handsome face. "Doesn't belong to me? That's where you're wrong 'Remi'. She's mine and will continue being mine. Touch her and I will skin you alive."
Remi's smile grows as he steps closer "And if she wants me to touch her?" The air in the office becomes colder as the two face each other but before the two can continue Ace walks into the office "Boss, more people have shown up at the gates."
Alec stares at Remi before he says "How many?" Ace looks between Remi and Alec with curiosity but decides not to ask. "At least forty. Mostly women and children. I guess word is traveling fast and with the other Cities falling they've come here."
Alec finally looks away from Remi and says "Let them in. We still have room but at this rate, we will need to expand the City." Ace nods his head and looks at Remi one last time before leaving the office. Something was definitely happening between the two...
Alec takes a deep breath before looking back at Remi. "The only reason I haven't killed you yet is because Maya considers you a friend. Make no mistake though, touch her and I will kill you. I can even make it look like an accident."
Remi gives him a dry laugh as he says "Do you think it'll be that easy to kill me? The only reason I'm here is for Maya, otherwise, I'd have my own City. Hell, I'm pretty sure I could take this City but I know she wouldn't like that. You haven't marked her Alec... she doesn't belong to you."
Alec laughs but it lacks humor "I would love to see you try..." Alec says with a growl. His beast flares up pushing against him, wanting to tear Remi to pieces. Remi's beast pushes against him as well as the two face each other. Each one, man, and beast ready to fight but they hold back only because they are nearly equally matched. If they fought... The whole City would be destroyed in the process.
