Chapter 5: Bond stronger than blood

In a secluded area at the top of a mountain somewhere outside the bustling Bei city, stood a beautiful large mansion surrounded by the nature. This mansion was the only house in this area and this place is no other the Luo family private mansion. There are even personal road that is exclusively for the owner of the house build where only some people with special access can enter.

This is exactly where Luo Jing is headed to. Her family lair. And after passing the security check, a fiery red car is speeding up the mountain towards the mansion. The mansion gate automatically open when the car comes nearer and without parking properly, the car owner stop the car right in front of the door and walk out.

It is exactly Luo Jing, stepping out of her car while holding her leather jacket and purse on one hand. She is also currently barefooted, she had thrown her heels to the back seat after entering her car. She have an ugly frown on her face as she passed the car key at a guard who is standing outside the door, she is clearly in a bad mood so the head housekeeper just signal the guard to drive the car away. Since they are expecting a guest too, Luo Jing car can't be left just in front of the front door right.

"Little miss, you are back." Head housekeeper Li Ming greet with a wide smile. He have seen this young miss grow up, so he can see just from the way she drive that unruly that she is in a bad mood.

"En.. How have you been uncle Li?" Luo Jing lazily said. No matter how bad she is feeling now, she won't disrespect the elder.

On usual day, she is actually very friendly with uncle Li. She will force him to bring her to stroll around the garden and bombard him with questions about this and that. But now, she really is not in a good condition.

"I have been well little miss." Li Ming said warmly, a smile form on his face.

"Right, the madam is inside the kitchen preparing for tea time. Master is expecting an important guest out of the blue, so madam is quite busy with preparation. Miss Luo can go in first and rest." Li Ming add. He is also discretely telling Luo Jing not to cause too much trouble for the madam and since that guest seems to be important for the master, she better just go rest quietly as to prevent trouble.

"Then, I will just help out in the kitchen." Luo Jing nod. She really feels like acting spoiled now towards her parent. She thought that she will complain to her father and mother about today but seems like she need to wait ah. She will just help out in the kitchen then, maybe she can calm down a bit.

Luo Jing walk in though the large door and throw her jacket and purse at one of the sofa in the living room before start calling out names.

"Ai..! In..!" She call out the two names lovingly. No matter how foul her mood was, these two can easily cheer her up.

Then, sounds of door closing from upstairs can be heard. Not long after, two small buns is already rushing down the stairs, running towards her. Of course, the other small bun is purposely wearing an uncaring look as he walk down the stair behind her excited sister.

"Ah jie!" It was Luo Ai who is calling with an excited voice while half running half hopping down the stairs.

"Ai Ai, come to Ah jie." Luo Jing also rush towards the little girl and lift her up and do a spin.

"You smell so nice." The little girl snuggle into her embrace and gave her a loud kiss on the cheek.

"My little angel, you are so good in making people happy." Luo Jing repay the kiss two times.

"Don't get deceive with her, she must want something from Ah jie now." The little boy finally arrive downstair and passed through the two loving sister with a straight face. As if he doesn't care at all.

Luo Jing try to suppress her laugh, that little brother of his is becoming more and more good in acting cold. Luo Jing put Luo Ai down and follow the little boy from behind before embracing him also and shower a lot of kisses on his cheeks.

"Ah jie..." Luo In struggle in protests. His fair face blush so bad.

How can he be treated like this when he is a boy ah? But he actually secretly liking it. His older sister always play with Luo Ai, now he is receiving more kisses than Ai which means she loves her more ah. He secretly celebrate his victory.

Luo Jing laugh aloud, as she hold the two children hands and bring them to sit at the sofa. Her mood immediately brighten, her family always recharge her positivity every time she is in a bad mood. Now is also the same. The twins are actually her step sister and brother, their birth mother is Lan Ni Ni.

Lan Ni Ni raised Luo Jing like her own child, she gave her attention, a motherly love and scolding when she have to. Her father and Lan Ni Ni have been married for a long time but they still doesn't have their own children. When Luo Jing become more mature and understand that they did it all purposely for her, so that she will not feel unloved, she was so thankful to her parents especially Lan Ni Ni. She is not born from her womb but how can a person still be that kind hearted. What more, if they follow the logic, aren't Lan Ni Ni suppose to dislike Luo Jing so much, since Luo Jing is a daughter of her husband with another woman?

Since then, Luo Jing has always treated this mother of her with utmost sincerity and love. That period was also when Luo Jing mention about wanting a little sibling while complaining that their house is too quiet, that it will be more lively with little children.

Lan Ni Ni was in her mid thirties that time, so getting pregnant wasn't easier compared to when she was younger, but after trying for a year or so, she finally get pregnant with twins. Luo Jing was the most excited of them all, she was so happy and feeling a bit relieved because she can see how much Lan Ni Ni expecting to get pregnant also.

"Jing, even when they are born, you will forever become mother's precious daughter right?" That was what Lan Ni Ni said to her when she inform Luo Jing about her pregnancy. Luo Jing smiled warmly as she watch the pair.

"In, you did not bully Ai right when Ah jie is away right?" Luo Jing is now interrogating the twin. She knows how good Luo In is with his older sister, but she still constantly remind the two to protect each other. Since there is no one more reliable than family in this world.

"Little brother have been good. Ah Jie don't worry, even if he want to bully me, I will not let him." Luo Ai said. She may look more childish than Luo In, but she is quite mature for her age.

Luo Jing smile proudly at her two younger siblings. Luo Ai is born a few minutes earlier than Luo In so it makes her the older sister, which means she is responsible for Luo In. But Luo In usually deny it, his trademark word is that 'what difference does a few minutes means? Thats because i concede that you see the world before me'. He always says this to Luo Ai. Luo Ai will always nod and agree with him, she may seems to be the immature one, but she is actually very clever.

Their looks are also different even if they are twin, Luo Ai resemble the madam soft and feminine features whereas Luo In resemble the old master, he inherit his face and character as well. Luo Jing remember how she used to be just like Luo In too when she was young, always pretending to be an adult.

"You should not become too friendly at school, see if they bully you or not if you are so nice." Luo In said coldly. He sometimes found that Luo Ai is too friendly with everyone at school, that is why she is reminding her now.

"Aiyoo, you are supposed to make friend at school. Ai is right, but In is also right. Don't let other take advantage of your kindness." Luo Jing became the referee.

"Yes Ah Jie." Luo Ai nod. She will always listen to her Ah Jie. Luo In lips turn up a bit, feeling that his Ah Jie is on his side.

"In?" Luo Jing call.

"En." He only hum an answer, he looks very unwilling with that suggestion.

Luo Jing didn't say anything in return, she just stare at the little boy. The boy was on the losing end, how can he still be stubborn after being stared like that. He sigh.

"Fine, I will try to make a few more friends in school" Luo In answer, in his same uncaring tone.

Luo Jing caress their hair lovingly as she ask more questions to them. Mostly Luo Ai will tell her all those funny or interesting stories, Luo In will only nod or answer shortly, but he still remain there, even if he pretend to be uninterested.

He actually likes listening to Luo Jing, his eldest sister is so clever, unlike their kindergarten teacher who always teach them things that he already know. Only Ai will like boring small child lesson like that. He prefer listening to Luo Jing advice, sometimes when they are having meal together and his parents had conversations with eldest sister, he will attentively listen and try to remember those difficult words that he cannot understand before searching them up in the internet. Thats how he knows that his eldest sister is so clever and know a lot of things, even their mighty father will ask opinions from Luo Jing.

At this moment, Luo Jing is unaware that she was silently judged by that little boy and keep treating those two like a small adorable pure kid.

"Ah jie will find mother in the kitchen, you two play around by yourself."

"En. Little brother and I will head upstairs then. In, come." The elder sibling Luo Ai held onto Luo In hand. Since their sister already said that, then they shouldn't linger around and disturb the adults anymore.

Luo In who are so unwilling doesn't have choice but to follow his twin. He will concede this time since they also know that father's important guest is coming too.

Luo Jing stood up and watch the two go up before heading to the kitchen. The kitchen must be busy now so she did not offer to bring the kids together. If it was the usual day, all three of them will create havoc in the kitchen and turn everything upside down.

As expected, the madam, Uncle Li's wife and another middle age cook are busy with their own tasks. The first who noticed her was Uncle Li's wife, Aunt Ma who is currently clearing the table and collecting empty dishes. Quickly, Luo Jing put a finger on her lips, signalling Aunt Ma to not say anything. Aunt Ma nod as a smile formed on her face too, what is this naughty child planning this time.

Lan Ni Ni who is currently having her back facing Luo Jing doesn't realise her presence and she seems to be concentrating what she is doing. The other two woman is stopping themselves from giggling towards Luo Jing childish prank. See how the madam will punish her later.

"Ma!" Luo Jing tightly hug Lan Ni Ni from behind, her slender arm went around her mother waist.

"Jing..." Lan Ni Ni who is currently concentrating on decorating the cake slap Luo Jing hand lightly for ruining the decoration. The previously perfect cake have an ugly icing flower on the side.

"Ouch, ouch! So painful ah, my precious hand." Luo Jing pretend to be in extreme pain and hide that one hand to her back but her other hand is still not letting go of her mother.

"Mischievous child. Show me your hand." Lan Ni Ni tone soften up. She had raised this child so carefully, how will she have the heart to let her hurting.

"Just kidding" Luo Jing giggles as she show her perfectly fine hand.

Lan Ni Ni broke into a smile before continue decorating the cake. She let her grown up daughter hug her and rest her chin on her shoulder. She know more than anyone that it was impossible that Luo Jing is truly hurting, that will be the same as hurting her heart ah. Before the twin was born, Luo Jing is her source of happiness in this house. That old man have a calm and a bit boring character, so Luo Jing occupy half of her heart.

Being an orphan herself, she knows how growing without parental love was, that is why she sincerely care for this daughter of her husband with another woman. She felt that the real mother was so selfish and irresponsible for leaving her own child and letting her grow up without a mother. So, for the following years after marrying Luo Zhan, their small family live harmoniously with Luo Jing slowly becoming more adult.

Honestly, who wouldn't feel disturbed when that child grew up more and more look alike the woman who used to be her husband lover? Luo Jing looks 8/10 like her beautiful birth mother, that was a legendary top actress in the country. However, that doesn't change her initial resolution as she always feel a connection with this child who shares similar fate like her. So what if Luo Jing look like her, isn't she calling her 'mother', isn't she always love and respect her?

Her dependence on Luo Jing become stronger after the twin is born, they were raised half by her and half by Luo Jing. Luo Jing who were still in her teen age are more willing to spend her free time alone helping her taking care of the twins at home rather than spending her time partying with friend outside.

Luo Zhan is naturally awkward at taking care of children, so she really cannot rely on him. If people ask her, she can confidently admit that Luo Jing is the twin 'half mother' ah. After that, Lan Ni Ni doesn't even have a speck of thought that Luo Jing is a stranger. No matter what those madams who likes gossiping about other family matter say, Luo Jing is her real daughter, she just doesn't have the good fate to gave birth to that little angel herself. The two of them are not related by blood but the bond formed is thicker than blood.

"Why? In a bad mood?" Lan Ni Ni immediately know that her daughter is not in her best mood now. If she is in a good mood, her prank will be wilder than that. What more, Luo Jing is especially clingy today.

"En. Met a good for nothing man this afternoon. Ma, honestly, don't I look like a successful young artist? I wear branded and pretty clothes, not to mention my aura and beauty. How can someone mistaken me for someone who was kept by rich men?" Luo Jing complained, her mouth is pursed. She doesn't think that she is a narcissist, she was just stating the truth.

"Really? That man must be blind. Our Jing is the most noble and beautiful, how can he accuse you like that." Lan Ni Ni said, her brows also tighten before putting down the cake piping in her hand down to the table to face Luo Jing.

"So, did you send him to the hospital?" Lan Ni Ni face formed a small smile as she caress the girl face lovingly. Knowing her temper, must be another pitiful guy who have bad ending.

"I just hit him enough to leave bruises for days." Luo Jing smile back. Thinking of that expressionless guy look at her in shocked just now, she feel more satisfied.

"En, good decision. But, Jing ah.." Lan Ni Ni eye the dress that Luo Jing is wearing now, with the spaghetti strap and thin satin material, the length is short some more.

When wore by Luo Jing, it is really eye catching. Anyone can easily believe that she is a famous model or actress but no one will guess that she is a world renowned painter who always appear sophisticated on public, not the seductive and alluring type like Luo Jing right now. Luo Jing is just too eye catching when she is dressed like this.

"En?" Luo Jing wait for her mother to continue.

"Maybe next time a longer and thicker material may be better, just in case people misunderstood you again. This dress is too revealing, if I doesn't know better, then I may misunderstood too. There are a lot of rumours about young actress being supported by rich.. " Lan Ni Ni did not hold back in criticising Luo Jing dress. She also mention about rumours that she heard from this other madam, so there really is a possibility to be misunderstood.

"Maaa!! I thought you were on my side." Luo Jing throw a tantrums.

Her face turns red, mixed with anger and embarrassment. How can her simply dressing for comfort bring a conflict like this.
