Today Is A Bad Day To Rain

Itsuki followed Haru to a nearby vending machine and offered to buy him a drink.

"I'll take coffee, thanks." Itsuki said.

"Here you go." Haru passed Itsuki his drink.

"Thanks, you should really get to your words now." Itsuki said.

"I was about to... Fine..." Haru got fidgety.

"Well... You said it back there, although that wasn't part of the plan, we've made a huge mess today, if only if I could persuade you to not break up with Himeko..." Itsuki said.

"So that was your plan all along." Haru said.

"Yamaguchi-san is not a difficult man, you're one of the people who looks at Himeko as her true self, which is not common at all." Itsuki said.

"I would really appreciate it if you would be staying with her, at least as a friend she deserved for a long time." Itsuki added.

"... It's too late. There is nothing I can do. I can't fight, I can't protect Himeko. I can't do anything to keep her safe. How am I supposed to keep her happy?" Haru said. His voice gradually became shaky, probably because he is trying to hold back from crying.

"There is still a chance, she was waiting for you." Itsuki said.

"R-really...?" Haru looked at Itsuki.

"I've probably known her over the time when she was still little, she always had difficulties expressing herself, especially when people are distant to her." Itsuki said.

"I see... It brings me to shame to see someone else understands her more than me." Haru smiled.

"However, I should tend to my mother by now. I can't meet Yamaguchi-san today. But tell him, I'll be back." Haru said.

"Well, take care. I'll tell Himeko about this." Itsuki said.

"Thank you. Itsuki." Haru thanked.

"No problem, Haru." Itsuki responded.

"Sigh... What a long day... Guess I have one last thing to do..." Itsuki said as he walks back to the car.

"You're late, Itsuki-kun!" Himeko said.

"Ahaha... I'm sorry, I got too carried away talking to Haru." Itsuki said.

"I saw him smiled..." Himeko said.

"Yeah, he did. Do you miss him?" Itsuki asked.

"That is none of your business!" Himeko said.

"... I see. Let's move on, Yamamoto-san." Itsuki said.

"..." Himeko felt bad for saying that just now, yet she couldn't bring herself to apologize. The journey to Yamaguchi's hotel is a quiet one, with Keita helplessly falling asleep due to his fatigue.

"Ah, Kei-kun..." Ayumi muttered as she noticed Keita falls alseep.

"Uh... Urgh..." Keita responded, even though he was asleep.

"Eh?" Ayumi is surprised, she can't help but smiling.

"You know... You're looking like you're totally in love with him now." Itsuki whispered to Ayumi.

"Eeek! No way!" Ayumi got flustered. Itsuki chuckles as he sees Ayumi's reactions.

"Here we are." Yamamoto's car stopped in front of Yamaguchi's Hotel.

"Woah... It's so huge!" Ayumi exclaimed.

"Let's get in, your parents are waiting for you." Itsuki said.

"Our parents?!" Ayumi is surprised.

"Yeah, there is no way I'm bringing you into dangerous action like today without their consent." Itsuki said.

"Whoa... So that meant you planned for that to happen?" Ayumi asked.

"I anticipated for the worst outcome, but luckily Keita is more capable than I thought. Now I only have to find a way to explain to your parents what I made you do." Itsuki said.

"I'll help! I'll help convince uncle and auntie to forgive you!" Ayumi said.

"Heh... Guess you should really worry about yourself." Itsuki smirked, feeling reassured for having friends who got his back.

"Yamaguchi-san, I've brought them over." Itsuki said as he entered a dining room. The uncertainty fills the night, whether Itsuki is able to talk his way out of this. Far away in the city, Junichirou looks at the sky.

"Today is sure a bad day to rain huh?" Junichirou sighed.

"Sure is..." A woman's voice can be heard. It turns out to be Ame, the rain goddess of Hoshido.

"Ame, her fate is no longer in your control, yet you looked concerned." Junichirou said.

"An unknown entity took over, the seeds I sown in her is no longer under my control. That is my only concern." Ame said.

"Have you ever considered it was your own problem to begin with?" Junichirou asked.

"... I can never forgive." Ame said.

"It was already centuries ago, when you were still just a young maiden in love, can't you just let it go?" Junichirou asked.

"No can do. Even the gods I revered turned me into a guardian of humans. I accepted their offer out of my devotion. Nothing else." Ame said.

"Haah... It seems like we need more time to talk about this." Junichirou stood up, he was sitting on top of a building. Far down below him, any people passing by is just tiny that they are barely noticeable just like busy ants.

"Are you leaving?" Ame asked.

"Yeah, my wife is awaiting me for dinner." Junichirou smiled. His stern face was never seen smiling like that. Only Ame has seen it multiple times.

"... I hoped that I met a man like you before." Ame said.

"Can't do." Junichirou said.

"Why...?" Ame asked.

"I wasn't even born yet!" Junichirou said before he leaped down of the building.

"... Can't he still live like a human?" Ame sighed. Junichirou received the blessings of the gods of Hoshido back when he was fighting a war against the demons. Obtaining the blessings granted him the authority to act as the superiors of the guardian gods scattered across Hoshido. He is considered a god, but also as a human.

"Rain will fall, only when the kept up feelings of sorrow cannot be contained anymore." Ame said before she vanishes.
