I loved you, You changed me

Kate was continuously being monitored now. Even though she was out of any danger, her body was still weak. Not to mention the hormonal imbalances and migraines she had. That night after crying to sleep, Kate was impacted so badly that she went to a coma for 3 days straight. On the fourth day, her heart beat had suddenly started dropping along with the vital signs of life. While Kate was struggling against death, the police was doing their best to resolve the case.


After getting the letter checked by the graphologist, they also sent it for a fingerprint scan test. The test results indicated that it was touched only by Susie, Kate, some police officers and the graphologist. Obviously, they could not find any other fingerprints since Kate had told her subordinate to handle the letter using gloves. She had already predicted that the police might take a measure like this. 


The police also went to speak to Nancy and she explained the incident that happened on the day Kate found the letter. It was exactly what Kate had told to the police officer. They also confirmed with Susie's mom, whether Kate actually came to her house or not. So finally everything was targeting only towards Ashton. Even though Susie committed suicide, if Ashton was the one who pushed her to take such a step, then he would definitely get a minimum of 5 years of imprisonment. Well that was exactly what Kate wanted.


Ashton was continuously denying the fact that he had sex with Susie after they got drunk and did it the first time. But the proof was right there. Susie was pregnant with his child before dying. The DNA results had proved it, and Ashton had no defense against such a solid proof.


Also, while looking for proofs the police also found out that , Susie had gone to several hospitals for an abortion, but all of them rejected since her body was not in it's best condition and she could die in the surgery. This further made the police point their fingers at Susie. 


To protect himself, Ashton hired a lawyer and also filled a lawsuit against Kate for libel and defamation . Nancy knew that if Kate heard about it, then she would certainly be upset. So without anyone's orders, instead of using the lawyer the police was providing, she immediately got the entire country's best lawyer, Mr. Ethan Crosta. Even the police department was dumbfounded when they heard about him. They had seen him only read about him in certain articles. He was a person who always remained in the shadows, and watch it's prey until it finally tires itself out and then hunt it down in one shot. No one knew how to contact him or where to contact him and yet, he was extremely rich. Even the head police officer was a bit scared of his authority. Words that once left his mouth were instantly called the informal 'decision'. He had never lost a lawsuit in his history as a lawyer, and the fact that he was coming to solve such a tiny case made the police officers wonder about Kate's identity. Firstly the VIP ward of H&S hospital and now Mr. Ethan Crosta. Just who in the world was she?


Kate on the other side was completely oblivious of the volcano's she was creating outside. She had no clue that a heavenly person was helping her. She was told about the law suit and told that the police's lawyer were handling it and she needn't worry about it since they had enough clues against Ashton. Nancy on the other hand was completely reporting everything happening to a certain 'someone'. 


After a lot of hassles and delays from Ashton's side, it was finally the day of the court case.
