Love & Regret Anthology

BOY IN LOVE

A boy in the wake

Of one's youth,

Grew and crawled out

From his childhood.

He saw a girl

And thought of her well.

He wooed and tell,

his love for her.

The belle said yes,

without thinking there,

That his love was real,

Willing until the wedding bells.

But the belle he loved,

Fell for another man,

In his miseries,

He stumbled and fell.

Thus, the boy decided

To crawl back to his shell,

Forgetting his manhood,

To suffer in great despair.

However,

The man inside berated,

"Get out, be brave,

Another girl,

Is waiting for you out there."

The obedient child within,

Cried out his pain,

And let his manliness,

To reappear.

Indeed, he saw,

A maiden gazing at him,

Telling him "I'm here.

Please, think of me as well."

Not long after,

Wedding bells echoed their love,

Throughout the kingdom,

Announcing these lovers' tale.

Unknown to them,

The former belle was crestfallen

To know she chose the wrong man

But too late now

To gain him back again.

----💔----

REMORSE

She saw the lady

Wearing her wedding dress,

On the way to church,

Marrying the man was once hers.

The girl ran off,

Crying her agony, and thought,

"I wish that man

Will think of me again."

She was horrified,

Mortified, and ashamed,

To long for a married man,

to look her way again.

In the end,

She walked away,

And started a new life

In another land.

"I wish, right here,

True love, I'll find,

And this time,

I'll be wise,

To choose the right man."

Note: More of this in my next entry.

My mentor gave a new writing prompt. We are required to write, not gather old ones, an anthology in 1500 words. I tried to write a few poems I made right here on the dot and only reach 262 words for these two poems.

The theme is quite hard. Collection of short stories and tales which tells the tales of 100 years of a nation's history.

Gosh, but I need to do it to improve my writing skills. This can be easy if I'll just copy paste some poems or short stories from other authors, but we are required to compose our own.

Oh, well, I need to end this entry now and start writing for my assignment. I'll post it here after I get my score from my mentor.

"Learn, do, make mistakes, learn, do, until I perfected my skills."

This is the way for us to build our self-confidence in writing.

Have a good and fruitful day. 😘
