#28 The Letter

Speeding through the [Demonic Forest] Xion encountered various [Demon Beasts] that helped him increase his power level. Xion was now at the [Legendary Realm Rank 5]. He could feel his body and spirit growing, even his mind was becoming a weapon not to be reckoned with.

The things he could feel have been intensified thanks to the constant leveling of his [Sky Sensory] skill. Little by little Xion was turning into something unforseen. There was nobody that could face Xion, every punch Xion threw made him stronger instantly. Who would be his match? Though getting cocky won't help him, it might actually cause him harm. Have to be humble.

Finally he reached the spot where the powerful roar came from. It was a spot which had a dense smell of blood as Xion approached it. It also gave off some eerie feeling that caused Xion to shiver from the sudden drop in temperature.

Using his [Sky Sensory] Xion felt the presence of something in human form but not quite human, more like a mass of spiritual energy that took the shape of a human. The [Aura] that kept being exerted from whatever is in there was beast like and intimidating. It was close to his grandfather's, Quinn Dan's level.

'Whatever is inside the cave feels dark and strange …' Master Kon thought to himself as he spread his soul around the whole area to get a reading of the place.

Master Kon was about to go down and stop Xion from moving forward but he was too late. Xion was already walking inside the dark cave. Seeing his disciple disappear inside the dark cave caused Master Kon to worry excessively. If something happened to that boy, Kon would lose his chance of having an heir take over the [Devil's Guild].

'I really need a break from such burdens, wrinkles keep appearing no matter how hard I try to not be stressed out…' Master Kon thought to himself.

Being the Master of such an important part of the [Wave of Life Sect] was very draining. Master Kon barely had any time for himself, even training and cultivating have become hard to do with such little time.

Xion walked into the dark cave, he couldn't stop thinking about the eeriness around the place. Thanks to his new ocular sight which he yet hadn't named, he could see everything as clear as day. The walls were strange and humid, there were some herbs around, Xion obviously stored them in his [Inventory]. What caught Xion's attention more than anything were the strange writings on a certain wall.

"It looks like [Ancient Runic Language] just like the short-sword father gave me, if only I could understand it…" Xion muttered to himself as he scratched his chin trying to understand and memorize the characters on the wall.

All of a sudden a low growl came from deeper inside the cave. It sounded like whatever made the noise was in some sort of pain or it maybe just howled in boredom. Xion continued walking forward, he also wished he had a camera or something to take pictures of the [Ancient Runic Texts]. If he could study them further he might begin to understand them and get a better handle of [Streak] the short-sword Lan had given him.

As he walked down the narrow corridor it began expanding. Until Xion reached the end and now stood in the middle of a huge circular space inside the dark cave. The eeriness was even stronger where he stood now, there was [Ancient Runic Text] written everywhere.

A ghost-like figure grabbed Xion's shoulder and threw him against a column which he went through. Xion coughed out blood instantly, it was the first time someone injured him so easily ever since he arrived in [Rain]. One push and he had two broken ribs not a good sign.

*Ding*

[Body of Sky has leveled up…]

Seeing how he just leveled his [Body Cultivation State] Xion knew that whatever injured him wasnt normal. To top it off, whatever did it couldn't be seen normally. Xion was at a loss of what to do, all he could think of is creating a [Qi Barrier]. He had done so before by manipulating his [Demonic Aura] it shouldn't be that hard.

Xion closed his eyes, he first activated his [Sky Sensory] skill to make sure nothing takes him by surprise again, he learned his lesson and would have his [Sky Sensory] skill active at all times from now on. He followed by churning his [Demonic Aura] and expanding it around himself creating a protective bubble and slowly used more and more [Demonic Aura Qi] to strengthen the barrier. Whatever threw him around earlier didn't seem to come for a second attack yet.

*Ding*

[Host has created a new skill [Dark Barrier] and has been rewarded with 100 [System Coins] and the [Dark Barrier Manual] created by [Quinn Xion]…]

This was a surprise to say the least, if it worked like this than Xion had tons of ideas for new skills. Forgetting about all of that for now Xion began looking around the room using his new ocular sight. His eyes finally found the probable reason as to why he was attacked by whatever it was that threw him around earlier. There seemed to be some kind of white stone in the middle of the circular space. It had some type of holy energy that gave Xion the creeps, it was like he felt the total opposite of him coming from it.

'If it's scared of me taking that with me, then that's exactly what I'll do. You think you can injure the Epic Xion and get away with it? No you don't...' Xion thought to himself as he began sneakily walking towards the white stone.

Every inch closer he got a powerful stabbing feeling in his heart. Everytime Xion looked away the pain was gone, but when his eyes met the white stone the pain got stronger and stronger. But, alas, he reached the stone and ignored the pain.

*Ding*

[Host has gained the [Celestial Light Qi Resistance Skill] from being exposed to [Celestial Light Qi] for a long period of time…]

[Host has unlocked the [Commoner's Willpower] skill….]

[Commoner's Willpower has leveled up…]

[Commoner's Willpower has leveled up…]

Xion couldn't help but smile and do a little dance as he saw new skills being unlocked this way. Having adventures is obviously the best, he would obviously go around the world and other worlds once he sets his parents for life. After that, Xion would go back to Earth and wipe the floor clean with that motherfucking [Demon King] and restore humanity somehow. If he kept growing like this things would end up being so much easier for him.

As he got lost in thought he had forgotten about whatever it was that injured him earlier. The black shadowed figure suddenly came through a coffin behind the white stone and attacked. Xion had his [Sky Sensory] skill activated meaning he felt when the black shadowed figure moved towards him. Xion also had his [Dark Barrier] activated which meant he felt protected, he didn't expect that the black shadowed figure actually phased through the [Dark Barrier] and slashed towards him with it's sharp claws.

*Booom*

Master Kon patiently waited outside, he clearly felt that Xion had gotten injured. But, seeing as how Xion began moving around normally again after the injuries Master Kon decided to stay outside and waited. Whatever was inside the dark cave is dangerous. If his young disciple can survive this experience then Master Kon will be relieved to have such a strong heir. If and when Master Kon felt that his young disciple was in danger he would go in and give him a hand.

"The future will shine bright after one faces a great challenge and survives, the strong eat the weak, make sure to come out stronger from this my young disciple…" Master Kon muttered to himself as he sat on the branch of the tallest tree with the most perfect view of the dark cave's entrance.

As he sat and waited a [Black Messenger Raven] landed in Master Kon's shoulder. There was news of a certain situation with the neighboring sect [Tang Sect] which has been going through tough times. The [Devils Guild] has been trying to help them out, and even though they have been successful, the [Devils Guild] lost many good [Cultivators] as a consequence. This way of repaying the kindness that the [Wave of Life Sect] has shown really tears a man up.

As Master Kon read the letter his face became solemn….

"So it has come to this, how regrettable…" Master Kon said as an [Azure Flame] burned the letter in his hand.

Things might be taking a turn for the worst. Master Kon had to hurry and train Xion so that the boy can be of use for the upcoming events. It saddened Master Kon that things had to take a nasty turn at such horrid timing.

"I have to report to the Grandmaster of the Sect, to tell him about what's about to unfold…"
