The Tournament II

Even though Jia Yazhu summoned her partner, she knew that she wouldn't be able to provide much help for the team. Instead of fighting directly, she decided that it was better to play a supporting role by choosing a long-ranged weapon within her monster's arsenal.

After all, the ring that surrounds its body stored many kinds of weapons within. As the ring shone with light, a shining bow with refine and elegant looks appeared in the Knight of Divinity's hands.

The Shadow Flame Priest and the King of Darkness both moved into the shadows and begun their fight in the darkness of the stage. Their movements couldn't be seen by the average person, only those such as Ye Qin, Wang Tao, or those on the same level and above could see what was happening.

Yang Chen's Super Soldier moved as it appeared in front of the Reclused Hermit. The Flame Monk threw fireballs at the Knight of Divinity, while the Golden Abbot and the Blackgold Python Tiger both released gold element energy at each other.

Finally, the Qiulong stared at the Devil Abbot which started to release all three of its elements at once. A Buddhist mantra, as well as an unknown tongue which was the Devil mantra, could be heard replaying over and over again as its aura became stronger.

The Devil Abbot's body became increasingly bright in gold and purple light that seemed to merge well together without any conflict despite being powers of opposing sides.

Not only did the light become brighter, but the abbot's body also expanded in size, reaching over ten meters in height. A strange 'Ohm' sound could be heard throughout the stage at the same time.

Now, everyone had an opponent to fight, of course, since the Knight of Divinity was no match for the Fire monk on its own, Wang Tao will be supporting her while fighting the Golden Abbot.

Within the darkness of the field, the clash between two dark powers could be heard. If one were to observe the fight, they would notice a dark-colored monk using palm attacks as it strikes hard against the air, causing vibrations wherever they struck.

Even though it missed its target, the attack was so strong that it had caused vibrations even in the air itself!

The King of Darkness moved with great speed, as a shinobi that specialized in assassination and speed, it was no wonder that it was able to dodge the attacks of the shadow monk.

Within the world of shadows, it was the ultimate hunter. No foe could escape from its grasp within this world. The King of Darkness hid within the shadows and launched kunai and shuriken from various angles at the same time.

Its movements were so fast, that it appeared as though there were dozens of it. Indeed that was true, its movements created afterimages that could attack as long as it provided them with enough energy to do so.

The shadow monk felt as though it were fighting an army of ninja rather than a single foe. As a master of darkness in its own right, it had no fear against its opponent.

The attacks from its opponent didn't even cause it to flinch. With its powerful body, it took every attack head-on as though it didn't feel a thing. If one were to describe it, it was as pointless as throwing an egg at a rock.

As its afterimages fired, the King of Darkness itself held a shortsword in its right hand. Staring down at its prey, it moved like a phantom, appearing right at the shadow monk with its shortsword at its neck.

The shadow monk reacted, it jumped out and destroyed all the afterimages as well as pulled the darkness in the surroundings towards itself.

The darkness closed in and surrounded both monsters at the same time. With a shortsword on its opponent's neck, the King of Darkness wasn't scared. After all, it was called the King of Darkness, as the name implies, it was a ruler of darkness and was invincible against all monsters that use darkness.

Instead of quickly finishing off its prey, the King of Darkness silently held its sword at its opponent's throat to see what would happen.

The shadow monk drew the darkness towards itself as its body became darker and darker. Not only that but the darkness that was being absorbed also seemed to become one with it, enabling it to control the darkness like one of its own limbs.

Extending the darkness, it reached for the King of Darkness. Contrary to its thoughts, the King of Darkness didn't budge and simply waited. As the arms of darkness grabbed onto its body, the King of Darkness still didn't move an inch.

Instead, it stared down at its opponent as if looking at something that was already dead. Rather than being tangled in the darkness, the King of Darkness didn't want to wait anymore. Its hand moved with a singular motion as its shortsword cut into something before going into its sheath.

The King of Darkness jumped back as the darkness dispersed completely, revealing both monsters on the stage. The shadow monk returned to the Monster sea on its own due to its injuries, while the King of Darkness simply hid while waiting for an opportunity.

At the same time, Jia Yazhu's Knight of Divinity fired arrows of light at the Fire Shrined Monk. Using its flames, the flaming monk reached out with its palms and burned the arrows of light into dust.

Its attacks seemed to not be able to even put a dent on its opponent. The Fire monk leaped through the air and pounced towards the Knight of Divinity that fired a barrage of arrows.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The arrows were fired from various angles, the fire monk didn't seem to mind as flames erupted from its entire body, completely burning down the arrows of light.

Just as it was getting close to its opponent, a huge block of ice blocked its path.

Bang!

The Fire Shrined Monk smashed itself into the huge chunk of ice. A huge dent was made in the ice, but it did not shatter. In fact, the flames being erupted could barely melt the ice at all. As for where the ice came from, it was obvious that it came from the Blackgold Python Tiger.

"Yazhu, you should retreat. You are no match for him." Wang Tao told her.

Jia Yazhu looked at Wang Tao who didn't seem to be joking. She nodded her head as the Knight of Divinity returned to the Monster sea.

Now, it was up to Wang Tao and the Blackgold Python Tiger to take on two powerful humanoid monsters on their own.

With one member of each team out of the fight, there was now more room to fight on the stage. The Blackgold Python Tiger's roar was like thunder, shaking the entire stage as its eyes became darker; while its aura became ever more oppressive.

Seeing that it was a one on two, Wang Tao knew that he had to get serious. It was a good challenge for him to get to gauge his own strength after his three months of training.

The Blackgold Python Tiger knew what its master wanted exactly. In respond to its master's thoughts, it released all of its power instantly. An eruption of gold, blue and purple light seeped throughout every fiber of its being.

The Fire Shrined Monk, as well as the Golden Abbot, were unhappy at first, but now they realized that they must work together if they want to defeat the Blackgold Python Tiger.

Roar!

The Blackgold Python Tiger made its move, flapping its large pitch-black wings; it took flight and headed for the Fire monk.

Knowing that it was being targeted, the Fire monk that had escaped from the huge chunk of ice freed itself as its entire body erupted in flames like the very sun itself. The Golden Abbot shone with bright light as golden stars surrounded its body and rotated like a shield.

The Fire monk looked down and punched forward.

Whoosh!

A huge fist-shaped flame that was incredibly dense blitzed through the air as it aimed for the Blackgold Python Tiger.

Roar!

The Blackgold Python Tiger roared as its body dove straight through the flames that would've burnt up any other foe that was hit by such an attack.

A black shadow could be seen inside the flames, a thunderous roar resounded as a golden tiger emerged from within the flames unhindered.

The Blackgold Python Tiger's front paw shone with golden light. It quickly arrived in front of the Fire monk and slammed down its paw.

Bam!

Pfft!

The Fire monk had thought that it dodged its opponent's attack. Instead, its left hip was smashed into, sending it flying dozens of meters away.

Bang!

The Fire monk's body slammed into the huge block of ice and passed through, landing on the stage below the Qiulong.

This attack showed how fast the Blackgold Python Tiger really was, in an instant, its entire body appeared beside its opponent before sending it flying.

The Golden Abbot took hopped into the air as if it were floating. It went right for the Blackgold Python Tiger.

Surrounding its fist was an endless amount of golden energy that increasingly grew stronger as time passed by.

The Blackgold Python Tiger turned to face its other opponent and roared. Seeing the abbot's energy growing larger, it knew that it was time to release a special move of its own. From below the stage, multiple huge chunks of ice appeared out of nowhere, trying to pierce the body of the abbot.

The Golden Abbot as well as the other monsters that were fighting dodged the incoming chunks of ice which also interfered with their battle.

In front of the Golden Abbot, multiple blocks of thick ice blocked off its path to move forward. If one were to look from a birds-eye view, they would realize the ice formed a set of teeth that were perfectly in place.

The Golden Abbot's path was blocked, making it unable to see the Blackgold Python Tiger. Even so, its right hand didn't stop glowing as the energy being charged kept growing stronger and stronger.

The Fire Shrined Monk had recovered from its injury slightly. It jumped out from the small crater in the ground as its entire body was surrounded in flames once again. Neither monsters could catch a glimpse of the Blackgold Python Tiger.

The Golden Abbot's hand finally gained enough power. It faced forward and pulled its fist back before opening it and slamming its hand forward.

Behind it, a huge thirty-meter golden palm that one could be seen in movies slowly blasted in a single direction.

Down below, the temperature throughout the entire stage was increasing. Not only that, but half the stage was also being shone upon by bright, crimson red light.

The Fire Shrined Monk planted its feet into the ground as it gathered all of its energy into a single attack. The flames around its body started to form the perfect shape of a sphere, the flames got larger, as the monk's body started floating in the air.

The flames only increased in size and density over time.

Behind the chunks of ice, the Blackgold Python Tiger prepared to face off against the strongest attacks of its foes. It felt as though it were facing a star that had fallen down to Earth, as well as a huge golden palm of Buddha himself at the same time.

The Blackgold Python roared.

From its body, three colors were released at the same time. Gold and blue from its body and purple from its tail that seemed to be alive. The small snakehead on its tail expanded in size slightly as its presence was being made known to the entire world.

From its mouth, the Blackgold Python Tiger gathered a large amount of energy from its entire body. Not only that, if one looked carefully; they could see that it was taking the energy from its opponents at the same time in order to strengthen its own attack!

The powers all erupted at once, the golden palm of buddha was slowly approaching from its left, while a crimson star that seemed like the sun came from its right. A giant ball that was a mix of gold, blue, and purple light was formed.

While the two attacks released by the Fire Shrined Monk and the Golden Abbot was heading for it, the Blackgold Python Tiger's energy was still the size of a fist. It was hard to imagine how such a small attack would be able to take on the two large attacks from two directions at once.

Throughout the entire arena, the ground was trembling as though a large earthquake was taking place. Even the students from the other arenas could feel the flow of energy being released all at once in the first year stage.

On the fourth year stage, Mo Xingyun and Mo Ningzhu, the twins of Nine Peak's student council looked at each other and nodded.

"Our juniors are finishing up over there, I guess it's our turn to do the same." Mo Xingyun said.

"En, let's end it now." Mo Ningzhu replied.

Back in the first year stage, some of the students who were in their seats were being sent flying into the air due to the tremor being erupted from the stage down below.

Roar!

When the large crimson star and the huge golden palm was just meters away from the Blackgold Python Tiger, a deafening roar resounded.

The Blackgold Python Tiger's small energy ball stopped gathering energy. Suddenly, it expanded in size, becoming half the size of the golden palm. It leaped back into the air and found an angle to attack both its enemies at the same time before firing.
