Noah: (Sigh) I still can't believe that she's alive... I'm glad she's safe.
Edvard: You got that right. We should walk around town, get used to place. We're probably gonna be staying for awhile.
Noah: (Nods) Yeah, I agree. Let's head out.
Noah and Edvard leave their room and head downstairs.
Innkeep: You must be the travelers in room 204, right?
Noah: Yes, Lady Elxianna must have informed you.
Innkeep: She has indeed, are you here to check out?
Edvard: No, we're gonna explore the town for a bit... since we're new comers after all.
Innkeep: Ah, yes. If you don't mind, could you visit the library for me? I need a book called Tale As Old As Time. Can you guys grab it for me when you make your way there?
Noah: Will do. Do you mind me asking your name?
Innkeep: Ah, not at all. My name is Claudette the librarian. What are your names?
Noah: Claudette? Lovely name, my name is Noah. He is Edvard.
Claudette: Noah and Edvard is it? Thank you for the help. I will be in your debt.
Edvard: No need, we're just happy to help.
Claudette: (Smiles) Thank you again, you both are too kind. Safe travels.
Noah: We'll be on our way.
Noah and Edvard leave Sunset Inn.
Noah: Where should we head first?
Edvard: How about the plaza?
Noah: Sure, just like old times.
They head to the plaza.
???: I TOLD YOU TO LEAVE!
???: WHY SHOULD I LISTEN TO YOU?! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT CRAZY!
Noah: What's all the commotion about?
???: AND WHO ARE YOU? WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN INTERFERE WITH THIS CONVERSATION?!
Elxianna: Halt! What is going on?
???: Lord Elxianna...
??? R: Is everything alright?
???: No! Robert is telling lies!
Robert: Hey! You're the one telling lies Hunter!
Hunter: No you!
Robert: No you!
??? Rd: Enough! You two are both disturbing the town! If you two do not quiet down, I'll make you quiet down.
Hunter: ...
Robert: ...
??? R: So... what exactly happened?
(Speaking on top each other)
Robert: He is selling goods at a unreasonable price!
Hunter: Hey! I'm a merchant, I have to make money some how!
Robert: We live in the best village! Why would you need to make more money? You're just money hungry!
??? R: (Sigh) Here we go again...
Just then a guard comes running towards us.
??? A: Lady Elxianna! There's people at the gates! The gate is not reacting to them!
Elxianna: They must be corrupt... Quick. Take me to them.
??? A: Right away. Follow me.
Elxianna follows ??? A to the gate.
Noah: We should follow them.
Edvard: (Nods) Yeah.
Noah and Edvard follow the two.
??? A: Over there...
Elxianna: They must be bandits.
??? A: Should I get the others?
Elxianna: Yes. I'll keep an eye on them.
??? A: Understood. I'll be right back.
??? A leaves to get the two.
Noah: M'lady, is everything okay.
Elxianna: (Surprised) Oh! I didn't see you two there.
Edvard: Sorry about that, what's going on?
Elxianna: See those people over there?
Noah: What about them?
Elxianna: If they haven't made it into the village by now. They have a corrupt heart.
Edvard: (Confused) Corrupt heart?
Elxianna: Yes. The gate reacts to the purest of hearts. If your heart is pure inside and out, the gate will reveal itself to you. That's why you guys saw the village when you came here.
Noah: Glad to know we're good people. Not like I didn't know that from the beginning. Haha.
Elxianna: (Smiles) Of course. You both are wonderful.
Three guards come towards us.
Elxianna: Ameline, Rosaline, and Reinfred. These people do not have pure intentions.
Reinfred: So what do you want us to do?
Elxianna: Get rid of them.
Ameline: Understood.
Edvard: Woah there, "get rid of them"???
Elxianna: Don't worry, we're not gonna kill them. We're gonna direct them else where.
Noah: And the three of them are gonna do that?
Elxianna: Rosaline is gonna stay watch, while Ameline and Reinfred go deal with them.
Edvard: Ah. I see...
Elxianna: I'll continue my routine, Rosaline. Tell me if anyone else wants to enter the village.
Rosaline: Copy that Lixy. I'll call one of the guards to-
Noah: I- I'll guard Lady Elxianna.
Elxianna: (Turns towards Noah) If you're fine with that, I'll be happy for you to guard me.
Edvard: Hey! What about me?
Elxianna: Go to the library, there's some books you need to see.
Edvard: (Mumbles) You're lucky that I was going there anyway.
Elxianna: (Giggles) Don't think I didn't hear that.
Edvard: Haha. I'll be on my way... (Runs off)
Noah: He's gonna get lost.
Elxianna: Don't worry, my guards will handle it.
Noah: Speaking of guards... Shall we?
Elxianna: (Smiles) Of course.
Elxianna and Noah continue walking around town.
Noah: Ah... I remember this place...
Elxianna: Hm? Ah. This is where we used to play together.
Noah: Yeah...
Elxianna: It's crazy to see how things have changed.
Noah: M'lady... I missed you...
Elxianna: (Pauses) ... I... I missed you too...
Noah: You've grown up to be so beautiful.
Elxianna: (Blushes)
Noah: Heh. You still blush just like always.
Elxianna: (Stumbling on words) I- I'm not- You're just- You really- Ughhh...
Noah: (Chuckles) I'm glad you're still the same Elxianna I know.
Elxianna: What? Did you think I changed a lot?
Noah: No... You're still beautiful...
Elxianna: (Blushes) ... Smooth talker...
Noah: (Smiles) Isn't that the clock tower?
Elxianna: (Looks up) Yeah it is. Want to look inside?
Noah: M'lady, you still have errands to run don't you?
Elxianna: Ahaha. I guess so... Let's continue.
Noah: Nods) ...
Elxianna: So... how have things been? I know I've only been talking about how I am and the village. I didn't really get the chance to ask you both if everything was okay. I actually feel kind of selfish... (Lets out a small laugh)
Noah: No. We wanted to see how you've been, since we thought you died right before us...
Elxianna: It must have been tough for you two. Seeing your childhood friend "die" before your very eyes, at such a young age...
Noah: I could say the same for you...
Elxianna: ...
Noah: Ah... sorry... I didn't mean that...
Elxianna: I know you didn't. Don't worry about it. I've already cried my fair share of tears...
Noah: ...
Elxianna: Let's continue, shall we?
Noah: Yeah... again, sorry.
Elxianna: And again. You don't need to apologize.
Noah: Ah. Sor- er- Never mind...
Elxianna: (Giggles) You can be cute too you know.
Noah: Yeah, yeah. Let's just go.
Elxianna: (Smiles)
Elxianna finishes her daily routine of checking each villager, with the accompany of Noah.
Elxianna: So. Figured out the layout of the village?
Noah: I congratulate you for remembering every name in this village. Not only that, but their daily routines as well.
Elxianna: Well, that's the duty of being a Lord and all. I'm not sure have I even do it myself... (She let's out a small laugh)
Noah: Good thing Edvard gave me the book when we left the library, or else Claudette will "Claw" me.
Elxianna: Ugh, still making the same old corny jokes I see.
Noah: Ahaha. I had to, just to lighten the mood a bit.
Elxianna: (Rolls eyes) Sureee
Noah: What? I'm telling the truth.
Noah and Elxianna both laugh.
Elxianna: I'm glad we can still joke around like this. It brings back old times.
Noah: It really does.
Elxianna: Hey, I wanted to ask you guys this before, but didn't get the chance to.
Noah: What is it M'lady?
Elxianna: Well, I was wondering what you guys have been doing this whole time. I told you my part, I want to know yours.
Noah: Edvard and me have been trying to find a place called home. We survived from what we could find. We ended up just becoming travelers, since we never really had anywhere we stayed for long. We'd just stay in a village for 2-3 days and then be on our way. It got us in some interesting situations actually haha. (Chuckles)
Elxianna: Sounds like a lot of fun.
Noah: It was, but it still hits us from time to time that we really have no place we belonged. There were plenty of villages that were willing to make us their citizens, yet each village never felt right. We continued traveling and found this place. Crazy isn't it? I never knew searching for something so much, could get us here.
Elxianna: So... I'll have to ask you... Does Evergarden feel "right" to you?
Noah: That's for you to find out M'lady. (Smiles)
Elxianna: (Humph) You're no fun.
Noah: What? We all like our fair share of mystery.
Elxianna: (Rolls eyes) Whatever you say.
Noah: Not to get your hopes up but... (Pauses)
Elxianna: But what?
Noah: We're not leaving anytime soon.
Elxianna: (Excited) Really?! I hope you enjoy your stay! However short or long it is!
Noah: Who knows M'lady.
Noah sits on the grass facing the ocean.
Elxianna: (Smiles)
Elxianna sits next to Noah
Noah: The village has become such a beautiful place.
Elxianna: I know, it wouldn't have happened without the help of everyone.
Noah: (Stares off at the ocean)
Elxianna: (Looks at him and smiles)
Noah: ...
Elxianna: (Begins to sing)
You are the ocean's gray waves
Destined to seek
Life beyond the shore

Noah: (Smiles) You still have a beautiful voice.
Elxianna: (Smiles) Thank you.
Rosaline: Ahem. Lady Elxianna.
Elxianna: (Gets up immediately) !!!
Noah: Oh um...
Elxianna: Uhh sorry...
Rosaline: Sorry if I was interrupting anything.
Elxianna: No you didn't interrupt anything.
Noah: ...
Rosaline: Anyway... I came here to report that the bandits have been "removed".
Elxianna: Oh right... the bandits...
Rosaline: Don't tell me you forgot Lixy.
Elxianna: (Awkward laugh) Ahahahaa...
Rosaline: Geez, I really don't know what to do with you ahaha.
Noah: ...
Rosaline: Anyway I should be heading back to my post. Are you two gonna be fine?
Elxianna: We are perfectly fine on our own, if things do happen. I'll be sure to call you, okay?
Rosaline: Yeah, yeah, I know you can take care of yourself. I'm talking about traveler boy over here.
Noah: (Staring off) ... (In thought) Does this mean she doesn't like? Well I mean we haven't seen each other in ages... But still... Seeing her now... I can't help how I feel about her...
Rosaline: (Ways hand in front of his face) Hellooo, Earth to Noahhh.
Noah: (Snaps out of it) Huh? Oh... sorry...
Elxianna: Is everything okay?
Noah: Yeah sorry, I guess I'm a little tired is all.
Elxianna: Oh if that's the case, we can go back to Sunset Inn if you'd like.
Noah: No, it's fine. Sorry if that scared you guys for a second there.
Elxianna: I see...
Rosaline: (Clears throat) Ahem. Anyway, I'll see you two later.
Elxianna: Yeah, I'll meet you at the guard post.
Noah: It was a pleasure meeting you Rosaline.
Rosaline: The pleasure was all mine.
Rosaline returns to the guard tower.
Noah: ...
Elxianna: ...
Noah: I'll go see Edvard in the library now.
Elxianna: Noah I-
Noah walks off ignoring Elxianna.
Elxianna: Did I say something wrong?...
A/N Woooo sorry for the short update... I really wanted to make this chapter longer, but since I decided to even start writing this story during finals season. It's my own fault ahahaha....
Serves me right for trying to do something so out of my schedule.
Anyway I'll try to update as much as I can!
You maybe wondering why there's two chapters this time. Well, I made a small character synopsis for the current characters in the story so far! I felt like it'll help clear any confusion between characters, especially when I used "???" for a lot of the characters. Well at least till one of the other characters said their name.
I made it a bit fun and even added their height and birthday! Some facts (if any) were added as well! Even some relationship and family relations. Of course not everything is revealed just yet. I just thought it was best to give you guys a little something before I throw you into this crazy story that I made on a whim ahaha.
For now, I hope you enjoyed the story for what it's worth! I'll try to make chapter 3 as soon as possible and make it longer as well!
