"Bye dad!" shouted Sarah, who's dad was just leaving.
They had just recently moved to Connecticut, and her dad was going to work at his new job. She was sitting at the table, eating breakfast.
"Goodbye Sarah, I'll be home late so don't stay up late for me. I left a few dollars to order food for yourself, sleep early!" Sarah nodded and resumed eating her breakfast giving a little wave to her father.
Sarah's mom has died a few years ago for a unknown reason and they moved, not wanting to stay at their old house after her mom died due to painful memories. Sarah and her dad has gotten close over the years, close enough that they sometimes knew what the other person was going to say. She could always tell when her dad was near too, some people saying they were telepathic.
Her dad soon left and she finished her breakfast and walked to school. When Sarah returned home, she walked in to the house, hesitating, since she wasn't used to her dad not being home by the time she got home. She sat down and started to do homework to pass time, when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her neck. She didn't really mind it, until the prickling sensation got more intense.
She went to the kitchen and opened the refrigerator and got a ice pack. She walked back to her desk and put the ice pack on her neck, feeling the pain dissipate. Sighing in relief, she continued on her homework and went upstairs to her room. Opening the tv, she decided to order some pizza. Grabbing her phone, she started ordering. As she was ordering the tv reported the news...
"Please lock all your windows and doors, and do not open the door for anyone, especially at night, since there is a murderer on the loose. Stay Safe!", displaying a screen of a shadowed picture that only managed to catch the slightest blur of the suspect.
Inspecting the picture after pausing the tv, she could make out a dark blue striped sweater, although it was very common for people to wear these kinds of clothes, making it difficult to differentiate the murderer from others. Turning of the tv, she felt sleepy, and decided to sleep earlier than normal.
Deciding to not order the pizza, she checked the windows and doors and only until she was sure every single one was locked did she feel relieved again. Falling asleep on the bed, suddenly she was a child again, when her mother was still alive and when she was in her old house. The back of her mother was facing her, hunched and trembling.
"Mom?" Sarah asked.
Her mother turned around and said in a low whisper, " Do not open the door", repeating it in a hurriedly voice, urgently trying to get her message through.
"Wh-What I do you mean, I don't understand?!", Sarah whispered back.
Before her mother could reply, she was suddenly brought to another dream. This time, she was standing across a busy highway and her dad was standing across the road. Her dad seemed to be mouthing her something...
"Do....Do not open the door?" Sarah asked, in confusing to why it appeared twice in her dream.
Her dad nodded and she suddenly awoke to the sound of someone ringing the doorbell. She ran downstairs, and was just about to open the door when she suddenly remembered her dream and the tv. She opened the peephole on the door, and saw her dad outside, his face positioned near the door. Just as she was about to open the door, she suddenly stopped dead in her tracks.
She didn't have that feeling her dad was there, as she usually had. Quickly locking the door again, she opened the peephole to see her dad staring back at her again. There was something off with the way he looked, though she couldn't tell what. His gaze felt... empty.
"Dad, please talk to me, please!" Sarah shouted, to no avail, she still hadn't had an answer from her dad. The doorbell kept ringing, though scaring her as it became faster and faster, the noise ringing around the empty house.
Tearing up, she fell to the floor sobbing as she trembled with every little noise that was made. She fell asleep, with her tears dried up on her face. She woke up the next morning, finding herself on the mat near the door. Looking through the peephole, she found her dad was still staring back at her. Cautiously, she decided to open the door out of curiosity, flinching as it creaked, but what she saw next horrified her more.
Her dad's head was positioned near the door, making it look like he was standing at the peephole, and he was, except... only her dad's head was there, the body was gone. On the floor near the body, there was a note. Picking up the note, she read, I KNOW YOUR'E ALL ALONE NOW, scribbled in dark brown which looked alarmingly similar to dried blood just as a dark shadow walked up in front of her moving at a fast speed...
