First of all, let me say something... not all these stories are original, and I do not intend to take credit for it. I will begin the story now...
Anna was bored. She had her day of from work and she had nothing to do. She hadn't gotten her paycheck so she couldn't go shopping. Anna decided to just surf the internet, to see if anything interesting could catch her eye. She could hear her someone downstairs, but she assumed it was her mom and didn't bother to check, Anna also locked the door so they couldn't go in even if they tried, she liked her privacy.
Anna decided to search for some new furniture, when suddenly, a eye catching ad popped up on her screen. On it, in giant, bold words were " Do you like the Red Room?"
"What?" Anna muttered, "Just let me find some furniture, I hate ads". She clicked the bright red X on the right-hand corner of the screen, watching as the ad disappeared. She went downstairs to grab a cup of hot water, and then went back upstairs. Turning on her computer again, she looked for some furniture again. Suddenly, the very same ad popped up again. Annoyed now, she clicked it again, just for it to pop up again. Now she could hear a faint childish voice saying, "Do you like the red room?".
Worried that her computer had a virus, she kept clicking the X as the voice got louder and louder, until it seemed the voice was right next to her. The ad would keep appearing, showing the same words. She could feel someone breathing behind her, though she knew there were no people at home right now, her mother had left when she went to grab the water. The voice kept repeating, seeming as if it would never end.
Then it hit her... The Red Room! There was a myth that anyone who came across that should try to get out of the room immediately, and almost every person was found dead the next morning with the same exact word on their open computer, their room painted red with something....Horrified, she tried to shut down her computer, but she couldn't move! With great effort, she picked up a jar, filled with rocks she collected and tried smashing the window and getting out.
It didn't work... with only a piece of glass falling off the window barely big enough for two fingers to fit through and she could still hear the voice. She had a sudden urge to cut herself with the glass. Picking it up, she started cutting her arms and legs. She watched in satisfaction as blood poured out.
"More...I need more, I must not waste a single drop" she whispered, as the voice started getting louder and louder, hurting her ears.
She took the blood and wiped it on the wall a few feet away from her, dragging herself to reach the wall. She felt the world turn black around her as she fainted.
"Anna, Anna!" She could hear a voice in the distance, calling to her.
When she finally opened her eyes, she saw her co-worker shaking her, trying to wake her up.
"You weren't at work today, so I came to visit you, and found you lying in a pool of blood!", shouted her co-worker, her face filled with worry. She had almost called the ambulance when Anna suddenly woke up, surprising her.
"But... isn't it my day off?" Anna replied. "Anna... that was yesterday..." said her co-worker.
"Wait, open my computer" Anna shouted. Her co- worker looked at her in disbelief. "Just do it!" Anna shouted.
As her co-worker opened the computer, on the screen, she could see a ad pop up... with the words, "Do you like The Red Room?"
