chalter 6 - party planning

to have a party at your house, one must plan ahead,....

firstly, ask yourself; "what kind of party are you going to organize or wish for yourself?"

well, i for one can't concentrate with noise around me but a party without music is a bit not right, don't you think???

it should be suitable music, and only music that you enjoy.... my favourite playlist includes: christmas carols, chinese new year songs, and some other soothing or melodious songs,....

step number 2 is to estimate how many people can fit in your compound??

as for me, my garden is pretty big but we don't have enough stools for everyone,.... so the next step would be to write down on your "things to buy " list --- buy cheap stools. ideally they should all be the same,... optionally you could get them in a few colours.

back to my estimate,.... i can invite 20 people... mostly adults, but children are allowed too....

step 3:: write down a list of names of who to invite...

i would invite people who can all mingle between themselves so that nobody feels awkward at my party. hmm, who will you invite to your party????

let's see:

1. my neighbours

2. my close friends

3. and other acquaintances

step 4::

now, the fun part,... deciding what to cook for the party.... we are definitely getting happy paper plates and cups for it.... let's buy 40 of both. next, to save a lot of hard work, i am deciding to order from a caterer.... that saves a lot of party planning headache for a beginner party-thrower like me.

step 5 is to make invitation cards.... i recommend doing this online for cheap and emailing it to them.... also you could print them out to send by snail mail.... and as an additional step you could call them personally to clarify if they can make it on the day...

step 6:: decorations

what's left is to buy or make some decorations for your living room and compound.... i like banners and buntings, fairy lights and outdoor garden lights,.... make sure there is sufficient lighting outside.... oh and remember to get those 20 stools!!!!

see you at my party,

yours truly,

jenn!!!!
