Ravenclaw

Philip walked out with all eyes placed upon him. Despite being the last person and having all the eyes collected on him, he seemed very calm and collected which slightly surprised the lady.

Philip walked over to the stall, turned around and sat down whilst facing the crowds of people.

The lady walked over to Philip, placed the hat atop his head before promptly stepping away once more. The sorting hat sat snuggly on his head for a short while before speaking out,

"Ahhhh, I see. It seems as though you've learned some very basic Occlumens which would be capable of stopping a few Legilimens from invading your memories, but i'm afraid that won't work on me boy. I see, I see.. you're the complete opposite of your brother in some ways, yet very, very similar in others."

Philip frowned slightly but soon went back to his expressionless face.

"You seem very mature for your age boy.. I expected you to flare up but you handled it very well, very well indeed. Anyway, I believe it is about time for me to decide on your House, don't you think so too Mr. Potter?" The hat said whilst talking in a tone that only Philip could hear, "Well, you've got an abundance of intelligence, a fair share of courage and bravery with a hint of loyalty to those you hold very dear, but of course, you also have the cunningness to get your own way and the smarts to outwit a lot of people too. Such a hard choice... you could definitely prosper in any of these households without much deterrence. Tell me boy, which house do you think would best suit your needs?" The hat said in an impartial voice.

Philip closed his eyes for what seemed like a while, despite it being a mere few seconds. "I don't think Gryffindor would be appropriate for me because I don't like attention too much, also going out of my way to do things courageously just sounds like a pain in the ass. Hufflepuff would be okay, but I don't see any real gain from going there, whilst Slytherin sounds like a very entertaining option. I do think if I chose Slytherin, I would prosper greatly... but it also sounds like a pain in the ass too, I mean just think about it.. from the people i've seen that're going to Slytherin in the first year so far, they've been very excessive and outgoing just to cause trouble for people, or invite trouble. So, after all is said and done, I think Ravenclaw best suits my needs. If I go to Ravenclaw, I should be able to have a stable school life with little to no troubles, I'd be able to read my books so much more in peace and I wouldn't have to go out of my way with meeting new people."

The sorting hat sat there atop Philip's head whilst paying close attention to every word the boy was saying. After a brief moment of silence with the speech having ended, The sorting hat spoke up once more.

"Hahaha, I must say.. that is certainly the most entertainingly bizarre reasoning i've heard over the many years I have been sorting students into houses, and I must say it was worth listening to. Well, I must agree with what you've said so far, so with that being the case... Ravenclaw!" The sorting hat screamed out towards the end with the Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff tables cheering and clapping at the top of their lungs.

Philip smiled slightly before returning to his stoic expression and making his way over to the Ravenclaw table not before glancing at his brother once to which Harry just returned a bright smile.

Philip went to sit down near the end of the table before Hermione stood up dragging him into their crowds, seated between Hermione and Lilith.

Shortly after, the cheering calmed down, the lady went to sit besides the headmaster before speaking out, "Attention Please", the headmaster then stood up once more, "Let the feast begin"

to which plates upon plates of food came out onto the tables presenting a feast for their eyes.

All of the students started to eat their fills whilst chatting away happily. Harry was talking to Seamus Finnigan, George and Fred Weasley and a girl named Fay Dunbar whilst Philip was feeding Fen some of his food and talking to Hermione and Lilith.

After the feast had finished, the prefects of each Household took the first year students back to their House dorms, Gryffindor split off one way whilst Ravenclaw went the other.. just before separating, Harry waved to Philip, Hermione and Lilith whilst they all did the same back.

Their prefect then took them towards the west side of Hogwarts before bringing them all up a long windy, spiraling staircase. The staircase continued up to the fifth floor where they was met with a circular room, just across from the staircase was a single door with two candle lit lights hung either side. In the middle of the door was a single, bronze-knocker shaped into an eagle with very fine details. The prefect made his way over to the door with the first years in tow, he then knocked the knocker once before briefly showing the first years what to do.

"So first, you simply knock the knocker once, to which the eagle upon the knocker will ask you a riddle. If you answer the riddle correctly, you shall gain access to the common room, however, if you fail to answer the riddle correctly, you will have to either attempt another riddle or wait for another Ravenclaw to come along and solve one for you."

The prefect then turned to the first years. "Would any of you like to give the knocker a go?"

At first, the first years just looked around amongst each other not sure whether they could accept being embarrassed if they ended up getting the question wrong in front of everyone. Soon though, Hermione's hand shot straight up whilst Philip wasn't too bothered.

"Ah, then, you! come give it a go" The prefect said to Hermione, she stepped out from besides Philip before promptly walking over to the knocker, knocking it once and letting go.

"What belongs to you, but other people use it more than you?" The eagle spoke out in a feminine voice. Hermione frowned slightly before looking down and thinking. Soon after, her head shot up once more as she answered, "My name!" excitedly.

Without any given response, the door slowly flew open leaving for a happy Hermione and a beautiful, spacious common room. This is the room they would be spending most of their time in whilst they were in Hogwarts.
